Samson came to us through foster/adoption at about 3 months old. He is a sweet boy who needs more activity than two older folks can provide.Sam is about 10 months old; we’ve had him for 7 of those. He is trained on common commands (sit, come, place, down, etc), is house trained, is current with all health stuff, and we can provide initial food, treats, and his favorite toy, “Otter”, who makes an appearance in one of the photos.Sam is smart and a great companion for any adventure or activity. Sam would be ideal for a search and rescue dog, ranch dog, agility dog or scent dog. He is undergoing training for his high drive with a focus on turning his mental energy into meaningful activities. This is a dog who will impress your friends with his handsome, athletic nature. In the right hands, this is a diamond in the rough. Story

This is Hank. A 4 year old blue tick coonhound. I adopted him 2 1/2 years ago. He is a love bug. He enjoys neck scratches (he stretches his long neck all the way out it’s cute!) he gives himself noogies (rubs the top of his head) against you for hugs or new blankets and pet beds. He loves being out on a walk sniffing and exploring. He is a hound so he likes to make noise when he sees a friend across the street.he is very strong and while I have worked with him over the past 2 years he still has a pulling tendency on the leash so a strong hold and some time is needed with him. He is super quiet and laid back in the house. Only moves for a snack. He lounges and naps all day. I love him dearly but life is taking our family in a new direction. I have high hopes he finds a loving active family where he can go on adventures and cared for as he deserves.

NEED REHOMING ASAP! Bella is around 5 years old, we unfortunately have a busy schedule and aren't able to keep up. She doesn't mind baths so no drama, but she's definitely a talker! She loves laying in bed with me, so it will no longer be your bed lol. When outside definitely bring her water she gets hot pretty fast due to her fur! She growls but only when you're talking to her or patting her (she loves to tell you everything). Bellas favorite toys are ger ball and rope, she's a hit or miss on fetch but she'll carry the ball around and she'll play tug of war with you! I would love to find her a perfect home!

Meet Rosie, a sweet 3 year old, 8 pound Yorkie Mix girl being fostered in Leander, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered ALL COMMITTED INTERESTED PARTIES MUST COMPLETE AN APPLICATION AT WWW.UYR.US ,SO THAT WE CAN CONTACT YOU AND DISCUSS YOUR INTEREST AND THE NEEDS FOR THIS BABY. Rosie is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 8lbs. She came to UYR with a partner (Pepper) from a local shelter. The two were found wondering together by a busy intersection and luckily a kind passerby intervened and got them to the shelter where we were requested to bring them in to UYR. Rosie was severely matted and underweight when she got to her fosters home. We got her to the vet for her bloodwork and vaccinations the next day and then had to schedule a sedated grooming to remove all of her mats. She is feeling a little self-conscious now due to missing most of her luxurious coat, but it will grow back in quickly. Rosie is super sweet and loves cuddling in any lap that will allow it and is like a shadow around the house. She has a great appetite and should gain some weight to regain her normal figure. She will need to be spayed and recover prior to adoption, but that should all happen in the next few weeks. She loves playing with her foster sibling, Pepper, and also enjoys her down time resting in her bed or your lap. Meet Pepper, a sweet Yorkie mix girl, 3 years old and 10 pounds being fostered in Leander, TX. Pepper is an estimated 3 year old, 10lb girl that came to UYR with a partner (Rosie) from a local shelter. The two were found wondering together by a busy intersection and luckily a kind passerby intervened and got them to the shelter. The shelter staff reached out to UYR to ask if we could bring them into our rescue. Pepper is very healthy, with the exception of currently fighting a parasite infection. She is underweight, but has a great appetite and will be back to normal in no time. She has the cutest underbite and is the most loving and sweet little girl. She loves cuddling on the couch, giving kisses, and will follow your every step. She still has some puppy energy and likes to play with her shelter mate Rosie chasing each other around the house and yard. She is working on her potty habits, but has a good role model in her foster home to learn from. We are still getting to know her personality and she will need to be spayed prior to adoption, but should be cleared of her parasites, spayed, and fully recovered in the next few weeks.
