Story
April showers bring May flowers, are you looking to grow your family by one? Although she had a rough start at life, Daisy knows that beautiful flowers can grow in the most unexpected places. Daisy is hoping to spring into a forever home, grow into a perfect pet, and give all her love to her new family. While Daisy loves going on play dates with some other goofy pals, she prefers to be the only four-legged family member in a home. There's so much of Daisy to love and she makes sure to reciprocate 100%! If you want to sweeten your life with a 80lb treat, consider this staff favorite wiggle-butt.

Story
Half dog, half piglet; Dori's contented little grunts when she is getting petted are so adorable. She loves wading in the kiddie pool when it's warm enough, and loves a game of tug-of-war or wrestling with her jolly ball. Sadly she has lost some trust in people and needs reassurance and treats to know that she is safe, but once she knows someone she will go above and beyond to demonstrate her love, and will stare so sweetly into your face with her expressive eyes and her little smile, and there is no such thing as too much bodily contact. Dori is nervous of other dogs in the shelter environment but has been able to co-exist with the three in her previous foster home and did brilliantly after a week or so of the "crate and rotate" system, which allowed the dogs to get used to each other without having to interact face-to-face unless on walks out of the house, but unless the potential adopter has the time and experience to manage this safely, it is best for Dori to be the only dog in the home. Dori has a huge appetite for playing, both with other dogs and just by herself, but is also very good during "quiet time" in her crate with a long-lasting chew, and she slept in her crate at night, snoring gently after another busy day. Dori is OBSESSED with water, and dives in like a pro and will swim and bite at the splashing water she churns up. It can be very hard to get her to come away from the pool/river/stock tank, and she would probably continue to dive and swim until she could no longer stand. In the house she liked to be close to her people, and there's a little spot by the cooker where she sat every evening whilst the humans are cooking- it's also very useful as she will tidy up any falling pieces of food. Dori generally did well with new people once away from the shelter- she would be in her crate as they came into the house, and then let out to greet them, and she saw that her foster siblings were very excited to have visitors, so she was too. Visiting dogs took longer to acclimate to, and the best way to do this was to meet away from the yard and go on a walk altogether, and Dori would soon settle down, at which stage she was ready to sniff the other dogs, and then she was able to ignore them completely.

Story
Hubba Hubba Big Time Luva! Wow! Carlton is one of the most affectionate dogs we've encountered at the shelter - who knew!! He's a big powerful boy which makes him a bit intimidating if you don't know him. But folks, I'm telling you, he's a hunk of love and all he wants to do is be next to you. He doesn't have dog friends at the shelter because he's so ramped up there (shelter life is stressful no matter how wonderful the facility and staff are). He was pretty wound up the first couple days we had him, but he soon relaxed and was nothing short of wonderful. He was GREAT with all the new humans he met. He's definitely a human person dog. Carlton's favorite thing in the entire world is a stuffed toy. While hanging out in our laundry room, staff and volunteers often catch Carlton picking out several toys from the stuffed toy bin. After some time, he'll accumulate so many on his bed that he doesn't know what to do with them! It's one of the cutest things we've ever seen. Carlton's happy place would probably be filled with fields of stuffed toys that he can run around in! If you or someone you know has a soft spot for the bigger dogs, share Carlton! What a hunk of Hubba Hubba Big time Luva!!

I have had Lola since she was a pup when we adopted her. Lola is approximately 5 years old. I’m hoping to find someone who can give her the time to take her for jogs or long walks. She is very active and requires daily exercise. Lola is an athletic dog.

Story
Domino is one of the few dogs who has actually gained weight since being at the shelter! He's not a natural athlete, and he would much rather sprawl out on a huge dog bed than run after a ball. Despite being a bit lazy, Domino is very smart and will need to keep him mind busy with the help of food puzzles and continued training. He has made some wonderful dog friends at PAWS, so far younger female dogs who can handle his inelegant style of play, but really people are his main interest. He knows some commands and walks nicely on a leash but take him on a car ride and he is in heaven! It's like going for a walk without the effort of having to move your legs! He responds well to positive reinforcement in the form of food and affection but doesn't appear to care much for toys. Domino does not like water, so a cool floor in the AC is a must to keep him cool this time of year.

Story
Hey, I'm Howl! I've been at PAWS for a little while now and am ready to find my forever family. My ideal home would be a house with a fun family or dog to play chase around the yard. I'm a good boy and have no problem sharing my toys and treats. It takes me a bit to warm up but once I trust you I am the biggest lover.
