Story

Floyd is a 1 1/2 year old golden retriever whom I’ve had since a 8 weeks old. He does have AKC papers (but I never registered them). He is a playful goofy boy that loves to go on adventures with his people. And will truly be your best friend. He would probably do best being the only dog in a home, but does very well with cats. He is somewhat of playful bully with other dogs (but not at all aggressive), which is the main decision for re-homing. I have other dogs and he can be overwhelming for them. He loves his toys, especially playing fetch with a good ball. He does well walking on a leash and has been on many day hikes with the family. Floyd does not like being left alone for long periods during the day and is in his crate when no one is home. He loves to snuggle at bedtime and will keep your feet warm! He is a very sweet boy and is eager to please!!

Poe is a very energetic but loving animal very cuddly to the point where at some point it seems like she wants to be inside you LOL does have a hard time listening and gets very excited over the littlest things but still a very sweet dog great with kids and other dogs wish we could keep her but in the situation we are in she is a little much for us right now also she is scratching her back we think it might be allergies but we are unsure she does come with a kennel also Please help I would hate to take her to the humane society and surrender her I just want her to go to a loving family being homeless absolutely sucks and it's not right for her when she could have someone to properly take care of her and love her as much as I do but the situation I have no choice

Barq has traveled a long way to find his forever home here in the UP! He came in with dog companions, but is a dominant personality, and would need a laidback sibling. Barq keeps his bedding neat, and his floor clean. He is very smart, knows exactly what kennel/yard is his, and goes straight there. He enjoys his daily walks with our amazing volunteers, and loves meeting new people! He greets everyone in full wiggle mode and is just waiting for a home to call his own.

Talulah was brought to the shelter as a stray smelling like a barn and stained yellow. She came in with a pup companion (Elly May) and there`s no sugar coating it, these 2 gals are SKITTISH. We don`t know what she experienced in her former home, but you can see that she WANTS to let her guard down. If you sit patiently, Talulah will sneak up from behind to check you out and accept some pets. If you come right at her, or chase her down, she`s going to run like the wind. In all her time here, she has never growled or nipped or barked in anger.. if she can`t flee, she freezes.Talulah and Elly May have come a long way in socialization, and are looking for the right person to continue to work on teaching them what it`s like to be a carefree happy pup.She keeps to herself, for the most part, but has snuck a sniff of passing pups, and we believe she would do well with a canine sibling to help show her the way.
