Baxter‘s owner passed away in hospice two weeks ago. Her family asked if we could help take care of Baxter and his sister Cassie and find a perfect home for them. They are the most loving and affectionate little dogs but definitely could use a fenced in yard or will always need to be on a leash. They both could use a little brush up on their house training, but are very cooperative if you catch them in time. Their owners last wishes were that Cassie, the gray one and Baxter the white one stay together as they’ve been together since they were born they both are roughly 7 years old, but not siblings.

She is from a home that had other large breed dogs, but Roxie is a lot of energy and a rough player, not knowing when enough is enough when it comes to play. She`s been around cats and is a lot of energy and dog, so introductions would need to be made slowly.What`s the perfect for Roxie look like? A home with space and people who love a high active girl! Due to having a freeze response to loud sounds, she would do best in a home with older children who can respect her space. We`d love her to go home with someone who`s had working shepherds, sporting dogs, and is ready to clock in the hours of training and exercise this sweet girl needs!

Talulah was brought to the shelter as a stray smelling like a barn and stained yellow. She came in with a pup companion (Elly May) and there`s no sugar coating it, these 2 gals are SKITTISH. We don`t know what she experienced in her former home, but you can see that she WANTS to let her guard down. If you sit patiently, Talulah will sneak up from behind to check you out and accept some pets. If you come right at her, or chase her down, she`s going to run like the wind. In all her time here, she has never growled or nipped or barked in anger.. if she can`t flee, she freezes.Talulah and Elly May have come a long way in socialization, and are looking for the right person to continue to work on teaching them what it`s like to be a carefree happy pup.She keeps to herself, for the most part, but has snuck a sniff of passing pups, and we believe she would do well with a canine sibling to help show her the way. Meet Sadiq - this handsome guy is a little over a year old and visiting the shelter due to some unfortunate circumstances. He has lived with other dogs in the past but as always a meet & greet is necessary before he joins a home with another pup. When Sadiq took a stroll through our cat room he tucked tail and ran for his life when one of our seniors hissed at him. Sadiq is a lover, knows basic commands, and is excited to see just about anyone (especially if they have a snack!). This guy loves outside time and would make an excellent walking partner! He has lived with other small dogs, but does not thrive with them, he would do best in a space without other dogs.Bear has interacted with children, but due to his size he`s quite the wrecking ball! He can get rough and unintentionally knock over smaller people with his bulk when he gets excited with the zoomies! After Rover`s original owner passed away, he was taken in by friends.. unfortunately, Rover did not appreciate the cats checking out his food dish, and he let them know it. Now, with a baby added in the mix, they felt Rover needed a home where his resource guarding could be better monitoredHe didn`t mind the other dogs around but seemed most content on the couch with his favorite humans. Rover would make the best show binge buddy! His favorite outdoor activity is fetch - although he hasn`t been great about returning the ball after it`s thrown. Rover hasn`t met a person he didn`t like and is sure to give you a smile. This big lunk weighs 101Ibs and will be sure to love you with all of it. Rover will need to be kept on joint supplements since he is a tripod and an extra large dog. If you have room on your sofa for this guy- he may be the right fit for you
