Story
Gary is the most loving, gentle dog I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. After a rough start in life, being transferred between shelters and having no stable home, I found him and have shared my home with him for the past 5 years. He has grown so much in that time. Gary loves attention and he loves to play. Although he is strong, he knows when to be gentle when playing with kids. However, as our family has grown (2 babies in 2 years), I’m finding I can no longer give him the attention he so deserves. I’m hoping to find him a loving, active family so he doesn’t have to spend more time in a cage. He’s had more than enough of that. Gary can be friendly with some dogs, but prefers to be the only dog in the house. He does not like cats. If you’re ready to meet your new best buddy, please reach out! He truly deserves the best life.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Brandy Whiddon/Kelli WilliamsonMeet Cairo – AKA “Cai” – Your Future Adventure Buddy (and Occasional Personal Trainer) Looking for a best friend who’s part dog, part rocket ship, and 100% loyal? Meet Cairo, a ridiculously handsome Belgian Malinois with Olympic-level energy, a heart of gold, and the emotional range of a golden retriever on espresso. Cai’s hobbies include: Sprinting like he’s being chased by his own ambition Hiking like he’s training for a National Geographic documentary Playing fetch like it’s a competitive sport (bring two balls unless you enjoy being outwitted) Dominating agility, dock diving, barn hunt—honestly, if it involves movement and showing off, he’s in. He’s crate trained (but expects an explanation if you’re having fun without him), super treat-motivated, and polishing up his manners—including learning not to greet people like a linebacker. Cai is a ride-or-die kind of guy. He loves confident humans (bonus points if you’re female, but competent dudes are welcome too). Now neutered, he’s channeling his energy into learning, bonding, and gradually retiring his career in artistic leg-lifting. Now, let’s talk about his one true nemesis: weather extremes. &#226&#152&#128&#239&#184&#143 Too hot? He’s filing an HR complaint. &#226&#157&#132&#239&#184&#143 Too cold? He wants a parka and a written apology. &#226&#155&#136&#239&#184&#143 Thunderstorms? If there’s even one cloud with attitude, Cairo is going on strike. If it’s raining hard or thundering faintly in the next ZIP code, he’ll hold it until the skies are blue and the squirrels are singing again. He’s not dramatic—just extremely specific. Cai’s dream home includes: &#226&#156&#133 No tiny humans (unless they’re part-ninja) &#226&#156&#133 Dog-savvy adults who know a Malinois isn’t a “chill in the backyard” kind of vibe &#226&#156&#133 A playful female dog or easygoing small male &#226&#156&#133 Maybe a cat—he’s curious, not criminal If you’re ready for a smart, hilarious, occasionally weather-phobic best friend who’ll love you like it’s his job, Cairo’s your guy. He might steal your heart, your shoes, and your spot on the couch—but you’ll never be bored again. Message Kelli Fort-Williamson to meet this high-voltage goofball and start your next adventure. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Daria AdamsLooking for a shadow you’ll never shake? Meet Radar. Radar is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois in Arkansas who’s back with ABMR through no fault of his own—his person’s new job has wild hours, and Radar’s idea of “work-life balance” is being glued to your side 24/7. At 65 lbs of love and loyalty, Radar is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and fully qualified to be your live-in best friend. His hobbies include cuddling, supervising your chores, and reminding you that life’s more fun when he’s included. He knows sit, lay down, here, and kennel. Fetch is still under construction, but he gives it his best shot. Walking on leash? Let’s just say the harness is his current stylist of choice. He’s also extremely food motivated (yes, he’ll be first in line for snacks), and he’s cool if you touch his bowl. Radar loves kids 10+ (because he sometimes forgets he’s not lapdog-sized), does well with other big dogs who aren’t bossy, and has previously been fine with small dogs and even cats—with supervision, of course. Now, fair warning: Radar doesn’t like being left out. If you’re having fun without him, he will let you know. This boy wants a family who’s around often or who will happily take him along for life’s adventures. If you’ve been dreaming of a partner-in-crime who will stick with you through thick and thin (and make sure you never fold laundry alone again), Radar is your guy.
