Story
Meet Simon! This fuzzy 8-year-old is such a sweetheart. He came in pretty matted on his back side, so he does have a funky haircut right now. He is very affectionate and loves his toys. He can get possessive over his food and toys, so young children are not recommended for him. He may do well with another dog but seemed a little too interested in the kitties. Simon is weighing in at 90 lbs currently. He is pretty overweight and is on a weight loss journey. Even though he can be possessive of his items, he is very tolerant with grooming and vet care! Simon will need continued grooming as his coat grows out to avoid becoming matted again. We are unsure whether Simon is house trained or not, but his kennel seems to be clean most of the time. Simon is neutered, micro chipped, and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $100.+tax. If you are interested in meeting/adopting Simon please fill out an application on our website; www.hspcwi.org. Only the approved adopter will be notified for an appointment. If the adopter is a resident of Portage County a dog license will be issued at the time of adoption.September 8, 2026, 3:27 pm

Story
I have had Diamond since she was a puppy. We got her from our neighbors who did not want her. She is 5 yrs old, turns 6 years old in September. She’s a sweet dog and has never bitten any people, amazing with kids and very protective. She is not good around cats at all. She’s a sleepy girl and loves to chill on the couch.

Story
Chancellor (25811) is a big lovable goof ball. He will need a special home with adults that have dog experience, patience and are willing to teach and work with a deaf dog. Chancellor would like a home where he gets all of the attention, no other pets. Once he knows you, he will be your forever buddy. He is very friendly and lovable to people he is familiar with. He loves playing with his toys and his kiddie pool. A fenced yard would be a plus for him. Chancellor has been adoptable since October 2024 and would love to go to a home. Please take a chance on this wonderful dog. H.S.P.C. stands behind the animals we adopt out. If they don't work out, we will take them back. We believe Chancellor is a dog you should take a chance with. He is deaf but that just puts him in the special needs category, he is not sick. The fact that he can't hear doesn't change his personality. Chance weighs 67#, is neutered, house trained, current on his vaccinations, micro chipped and is heart worm negative. His adoption fee is $100+tax, If you are interested in meeting/adopting Chancellor please fill out a dog application on our website. www.hspcwi.org The approved adopter will be notified for an appointment within three days. All dog adoptions come with copies of all medical records, a leash, collar, toys and 3 days of food.  September 8, 2026, 3:27 pm

Story
Luna is a very lovely and gentle girl who has lived with me for a few months. She's very kind, enjoys playing ball, and her favorite thing to do is run around and play with other dogs at the dog park.I'm rehoming because this was my first dog and I'm gone a lot for work and travel so it's just been too much work to care for her while also being a single parent with a small townhome yard. That said, she is well trained at going in her kennel during dinner, always goes potty outside, and walks pretty well with her harness but will sometimes pull if a squirrel is close. She's perfectly healthy. She's good with little kids and dogs. I haven't had her near a cat so not sure how she would do.Adoption fee includes her bed, kennel, toys - all the things one needs to own a dog. We've been a good foster family but want to find the right home for her:)

Story
Hi! My name is Bandit, and I’m a 1-year-old boy who came to the shelter as a stray.I’m a very nervous and shy pup, so I may need a little time to feel comfortable and trust new people. I appreciate having my own space and someone who understands that I like to take things at my own pace.Once I feel safe, you’ll see my sweet side! Deep down, I’m just a gentle boy who wants to be loved and have someone I can call my own. With patience, kindness, and lots of love, I’m hoping to blossom into the happy, confident pup I know I can be.If you’re looking for a sweet boy who just needs someone willing to give him a chance, Bandit may be your perfect match!
