Story
Meet the Beautiful Lucille!! DOG AND KID FRIENDLY!! She’s a big tall skinny girl but oh so sweet!! Lucille arrived to Colorado on 5/3 and has been doing great settling into her foster home! She’s friendly, curious, and loves playing with her stuffies. She loves getting to explore new smells on walks and does well on the leash. She's a complete silly goose with a good amount of energy for playtime and affection and she adores belly rubs. She sleeps perfectly in her crate at night and when left at home. She’s a big dog who thinks she’s a tiny baby and will happily sprawl out on your lap. She is super goofy with kids and would be a great family dog or perfect for any home where she can get lots of sniffs and playtime. She loves walks but will need more enrichment than just that to work out her puppy energy — either going on a run, playing with another dog, playing fetch / tug, doing a snuffle mats, dog puzzle, etc. She does love chewing on a bone or working on a frozen Kong; both of these are great for getting her to settle down. She’s a big dog but skinny (guessing she's an Akbash more than a Pyr). Currently at a healthy weight. Guessed to be young, around age 1-2. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Neutered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and 4dx testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

Story
Bear is a big, friendly guy! He`s quickly turned into a staff favorite here and we know you`re sure to fall in love once you meet him! Bear seemed a bit insecure when meeting another dog here in the shelter so he might enjoy being the only dog in his next home. But if you have another dog and are interested in Bear, let us know and we can set up a doggie meet-and-greet for the two of them to help ensure it`s a good fit. Bear can be a bit exuberant on walks and sometimes likes to chase rabbits or squirrels, so a guardian equipped to handle his big energy will be key. Come meet Bear today!

Story
Meet Belly, aka Bellitrix! This beautiful, big girl is 13 months old, born in early April of last year. She is the sweetest big girl who LOVES to be snuggled. She was named Belly because she loves Belly rubs, and did a double leg kick when you rubbed her belly (our daughter also loves the character Belly from a teenager show).    We have been fostering for the past year so Belly could wait to get spayed, and she just successfully went through her spay and did great! She loves kids and cats and other dogs, and is just the happiest sweetest baby on the planet. Like almost any Pyrenees, she will wonder and we've tried the Halo collar and she's started to ignore the buzz commands and runs to the neighbors any chance she gets - so Belly will need someone experienced with Pyrenees and preferably a fenced yard. We know lots of Pyr owners do well with eCollars, but this girl has not taken to it like  our other dogs.  Additionally, she will be HOT in the summer. She's currently up in Summit County and on our warmer days so far is panting like crazy, so she needs lots of opportunity to lounge and be cool in the summer months. She is NOT for running or tons of exercise, she likes walks and playing with other dogs, but really prefers to lie around and lounge, and protect her property. As a puppy she did a lot of resource guarding of her food, but we've worked on that and gotten to no growling, if she does show those tendencies in her new home we can help teach you to "trade" with her to minimize/prevent that action. Put in an application at EAPL.com Her adoption fee is $375May 19, 2026, 6:34 pm

Story
Kylo Ren is a gentle giant! He will be 5 years old on June 1st. I’ve debated back and forth for so long on whether or not to rehome him. He is a very, very good boy. The only reason we are looking for a new home for him, is because I know the life he has with us is not the best he could have, nor the best he deserves. My husband and I both work full time, and Kylo is in his crate for the majority of the day. He does go to daycare 2x every other week at The Dog Ranch in Berthoud but I can’t afford that every day.Kylo does shed quite a bit, he barks (he’s a guardian dog for sure), and occasionally digs in the yard. But he is a lover, he loves to snuggle and be petted. He is good with dogs, he is good with cats (he wants to play with them- whether or not the cat will like that is another story), and good with children. Sometimes he doesn’t realize his size and will knock my toddler over while playing.

Story
Daisy is a beautiful purebred Great Pyrenees with a heart just as big as her fluffy frame. This sweet girl is incredibly friendly, gentle, and loves being around people and other dogs. She truly lives up to the “gentle giant” reputation of her breed.Daisy has an adorable quirk—she’s only vocal when it comes to things in the sky! Birds, airplanes, or anything overhead might get a bark or two, but otherwise she’s calm and easygoing.Due to her previous owner moving into a senior care facility, Daisy is now in need of a new loving home. This transition hasn’t dimmed her sweet nature—she’s still as affectionate and loyal as ever.Daisy would thrive in a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs, relax in the sunshine, and keep a watchful (but mellow) eye on her surroundings. She’s looking for someone who will give her the love, stability, and care she deserves. If you’re searching for a kind-hearted, gentle companion to share your home and heart, Daisy may be the perfect match.

Story
I originally got this dog to go running with me but I recently got a night job and the girlfriend works a day job and we just don't have very much time for him and he needs more attention. He has been to training at sit mean sit. He is up today on all of his shots and is a very sweet dog. She has a lot of energy and will require a good size yard I paid over $2,000 for him to get trained I would like to at least get that money back

Story
Sierra is a five-year-old ~110-pound Anatolian shepherd mix who came from a family in Montana that was unable to give her the care and attention she needs. She was kept outside too much, but we have been working with her since February, integrating her into our family, dog walks, belly rubs and brushing, etc. She's a working/herding/guard dog but is also a goofball and a very cuddly teddy bear who loves people and has done well around children. She does have protective/guarding tendencies that seem to have been exacerbated by her situation at her former home, and would do best in a house with a fenced yard and without other dogs or pets (strong crittering instinct). However, she has also made HUGE progress on her dog walks and hasn’t shown any reactivity to other dogs in weeks. Sierra loves being brushed, hanging out with her people, and belly rubs. She is a very sweet girl and would make a great companion for the right person!

Story
Meet The Sweet but Shy Emma Emma is the more confident one of the litter and is great with kids and is respectful and curious of her foster cat sister. She is a silly little diva in training that has already gained so much confidence in her foster home. Her favorite thing is sitting on back porch people watching or making sure her two human foster siblings are safe outside playing. She LOVES to play catch and learning new tricks. The family who is lucky enough to adopt her is going to have a fiercely loyal, loving, and adventurous pup! These babies came from Texas where they were born on a farm and were likely bred to be guardian dogs but the owner surrendered them and they are super shy. They likely grew up outside, then a kennel at a small shelter and havent been in a home till arriving in our care They will need a patience and loving home with another confident and friendy dog in the home to show them the ropes They are crate trained, doing well with house training, and slowly gaining confidence each day Good with other dogs, cats and other farm animals.
