Story
Mia is a very sweet girl, she is potty trained, highly intelligent, good with kids (even young crazy ones), dogs, and cats. She is high energy and likes going on runs, she needs a yard she can run in. She eats only grain free food. She talks Husky talk and when she's given a bath, she likes to scream the Husky scream. Other than being given a bath, she is good about being in a crate (despite her high energy). She has AKC papers and she is up to date on shots. We never sent in the AKC papers because we didnt intend on breeding her. She is not fixed just because we were waiting for her to get older. Anyone would be lucky to have her ♡

Story
Ghost has a story sadly typical for the husky breed. He was bought from a breeder to anyone with cash. The people who bought him (as a puppy) were thoroughly unprepared and unwilling to meet the needs of the breed. Picked up by animal control multiple times, his owners kept him cooped up in their apartment with only a "dog sitter" to let him run the hall on occasion. Until a judge wisely intervened. We are now committed to finding Ghost the home of his dreams. A home who has put in the research on the breed and is prepared to accommodate the needs of an adult Husky! Be sure to check out our Facebook page at Wyandotte Animal Shelter (https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/) for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. :) Thank you for your interest in adopting! If you think the animal in this profile might be a good fit for your home and would like to meet them, here's how! !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Click on the Apply To Adopt button to submit an online adoption application. NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check your "spam" folder. 3. Your application will be processed and a volunteer will call or email with any questions. NOTE: If any questions are left unanswered or incomplete, the application would not be processed. A completely filled out application will take 1-3 days to process! 4. We will set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt! ** We DO give preference to applicants with verifiable dog experience (as a primary caretaker). All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative unless otherwise indicated. All are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and current on heartworm prevention! Additional questions... Does this dog get along with cats? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! Does this dog react well to other dogs? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. Is this dog good with children? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. How did this dog end up in a shelter? The top reasons dogs are given up are: Moving without considering the needs of the pets Death of the owner with no plan in place for the pets Previous owner did not provide appropriate training Owner did not consider the lifespan of a dog Owner did not consider the cost of providing for a dog

Story
Trinity is a very pretty Husky mix with blue eyes. She is currently fostered with other dogs in an adult home. We don't know how she is around young children but older kids should be fine. She is energetic and playful and might be a good companion for another dog. Those interested should be familiar with the breed. She would enjoy going on walks with someone willing to give her lots of love and attention. Trinity is microchipped. We think she is about 1-2 years old.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dalton, our newest resident at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Dalton is a 4 year old Husky/Shepherd mix and he weighs about 60 pounds. He has a beautiful tri-colored coat and the most beautiful blue eyes. Dalton was born in August of 2020 and lived with his mother and siblings at the owner’s home. Sadly, it sounds like the pups spent most of their daytime in crates. They were all confiscated from the home on May 1st of this year after they were found being neglected. Dalton came to us about 2 weeks ago; I’ve waited to post him until I had the time to know him better. I can tell you that Dalton is a very nice boy, he enjoys meeting new people and taking walks outside. He walks very nicely on-leash and has been nonreactive to people, cars, and critters outside. He’s only recently started playing with toys and he now greets me each morning holding one. Dalton may be a little shy when meeting you for the first time but once he realizes he’s safe with you, he wants to be close. The only caveat is that Dalton doesn’t like cats. Dalton will have his first Vet appt. on Friday, September 6th. He has already had a rabies shot and received his vaccinations while at the shelter. At his appt. Dalton will have a wellness exam, heart worm test, he will be microchipped, and I have a feeling he’s going to leave there with a lot of new girlfriends. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 If you would like to meet Dalton, please submit an adoption application under his name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 14, 2024, 6:25 am

Story
Meet Zero: The Husky Heartthrob Ready to Steal Your Heart! Introducing Zero, our 3.5-year-old Husky who’s sure to charm his way right into your heart! This playful and spirited boy embodies all the traits of his breed. Zero loves to play, go for walks, bask in the sun, and engage in playful roughhousing with his 4 doggy foster siblings. Zero would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard and an active family who can keep up with his energetic lifestyle. Huskies are known for their intelligence and adventurous spirits, and Zero is no exception. He’s incredibly smart, knows multiple commands, and walks beautifully on a leash. However, it’s important to note that Huskies are notorious escape artists, and Zero is no different. His curiosity and zest for life mean he’ll need a secure environment and a family that understands or is committed to learning about the breed’s unique needs. If you’re familiar with Huskies or ready to dive into understanding their quirks, Zero could be the perfect fit for you! Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home and we want our adopters to be prepared for that!
