Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 40 Large Dog Friendly: Yes, she does really well with all the dogs she meets at the dog park. At home she tends to get nervous with other dogs when they are too hyper or wild. Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: No Crate Trained: At this time, no, as she is not used to being in a crate. Appears to have some separation anxiety and will need work to get crate trained. Housebroken: Yes Energy Level: She is typically very calm, but does get zoomies and likes to run around. She would do best in a home where she can relax, cuddle and get all the belly rubs! She also loves walks, and regular runs in a fenced in yard/area Reaction to New People: She is shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves pets. Needs to work on socialization with new people and situations Kid Friendly: Older and calmer would be best for her, as young kids and their noises and quick movements make her nervous. Training: She knows the basics, but could use some better leash manners as she likes to jump around and go all husky when asked to go potty. She needs socialization to learn some confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Fence: Currently she goes out on a leash to go potty and then back in, as she does not appear to like the cold as much as a lot of huskies. She does respect the fence at a dog park, but at home would need to be on a tie out or supervised as she will dig under or try to climb out. Solo or Siblings: She would love to be the lone center of human attention, but could also like a sibling to play with, depending on the dog as she can be picky about her playmates and if they are too hyper she can be nervous. From the Foster: Yuki is a furry little princess that loves all the attention. She is overall pretty calm, but also has her husky zoomies. Since a small pup, she has always been a bit shy and hesitant in unknown situations/people and needs to build her confidence, but she does love to explore, and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She is tolerant of baths, but is scared of water otherwise, and will tip-toe through wet grass. She loves attention and belly rubs, and will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is an all around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who needs a best friend to cuddle, experience life with, and to help her overcome her nervousness/fear of the world. Adoption Fee: $50 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Bob Barker Sex: Male Color: Silver-Gray Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 10/30/2022 (estimated) Weight: 47 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Loves energetic dog play. Friendly with female dogs but has been selective with other male dogs. Gradual, supervised introduction needed. Small Dog Friendly: Yes, but his "friendliness might be too energetic Cat Friendly: Definitely not! (Based on reaction to free-roaming neighborhood cats) Crate Trained: Yes. Eats, sleeps and rests in his kennel. Happy to enter, settles quickly, sleeps quietly through the night. Will protest briefly if he sees that his human is leaving the house, but responds to "Quiet. Stay. Housebroken: Yes. Energy Level: High. Plays hard. Needs mental and physical activity, walks that include exercise, training and sniff time, and long-lasting treat toys. Reaction to New People: Curious, eager, friendly. Loves kisses. Needs work on jumping up. Kid Friendly: Has met children only through a fence. Due to energetic play style, would do best with older, dog-savvy children. Training: Reliable Sit. Knows Wait, Back (behind a boundary) - needs work on duration. Comes when called, but distractable. Grooming Needs: Standard Husky Coat. Needs at least weekly brushing with an undercoat rake or pin brush (no furminators/blades). Easy to groom, no reactivity to handling ears, feet. Tolerates baths; doesn't love the blower, but no loud drama about it. Fence: Yes! 5+ feet with a locked gate. Great at opening gates and doors, will squeeze through any opening. Not great on a tie-out; he will fight until he is tangled in it, then try to chew himself free. Solo or Siblings: Bob would love a dog sister. Relationship with dog brothers would require a slower introduction. A more mature, confident dog companion would help him learn the ropes in a new home. He also loves snuggling and play with an active human. From the Foster: Bob is a really great dog! He's a strong, energetic, young husky. He loves to play and explore from morning 'til night - preferably outdoors. He also loves to snuggle in laps and give kisses. He's never met a human he doesn't love. He still needs practice at keeping four feet on the floor while greeting. His interactions with other dogs have been mixed. He bonds quickly with female dogs but doesn't like to share them with other male dogs. He needs a special human who will provide consistent leadership and super take time to supervise gradual introductions to male dogs in the house. He will chill next to my work desk for an hour, with a selection of good chew toys, but he'd rather be playing. He will hop right into his kennel for food and sleep contentedly, but he does not like to see his people leave the house without him. He will complain a bit but responds to Quiet-Stay. He loves long walks, especially good sniffing walks. He'll walk beside you, if you require it, but would rather be out front and pulling if you let him. He would definitely enjoy pulling sports. This playful boy will make a great adventure buddy for an active family. Adoption fee: $400 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Teddy Color: Red & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 09-24-2021 (estimated) Weight: 60 Large dog friendly: Yes Small dog friendly: No Cat friendly: No, strong prey drive Crate trained: Yes, but does whine, pace and bark. We are using a prescribed medication to help ease his anxiety. House-trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Reaction to new people: Friendly Kid friendly: Loves kids!!! Training: Knows sit, paw, lay-down Normal husky coat which will require regular brushing. You should aim for once a week or so, and more when he is blowing his coat, typically twice a year. Fence: Strong tie-out recommended. He is an escape artist (can climb fences, and flip up gate latches) Solo or siblings: Requires a sibling, was adopted as a solo dog and was anxious, Just wasn't the right environment for him. From the foster: Need a snuggle buddy? Teddy is the one to keep you cozy at night and "aaaoooohhh" sweet nothings. Teddy gets along best with female dogs, and will take redirection well from dogs and humans. He tends to jump when greeting people and likes to counter surf. Teddy paces to let you know he needs to get business done, but has had a couple of accidents. He enjoys walking nicely on the leash (not pulling too hard), followed by cuddles on the couch with his foster and the kids, nudging them for pets. Teddy does have some separation anxiety when home alone. Shared walls/apartment living would not be a good fit as he can be noisy at times, he is getting better and many times will go lay in his crate by choice when we are home. He recently started having free roam at night and has been doing really good with the additional freedom in the house.

Story
Name: Lobo Sex: Male Color: Black & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 01/31/21 Weight: 46 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Needs slow and controlled introductions Small Dog Friendly: Probably not Cat Friendly: No Crate Trained: Yes, needs a little encouragement, sleeps and naps there fine, crates when foster family is away from the house. Housebroken: Yes, but will poop in the house if he isn't given enough time to find a spot outside. Is fairly regular and gives cues when he needs to go (walks/sniffs differently). Energy Level: High energy but he naps hard when tired out. To get there we've taken him on 2 mile walks, fetch after shorter walks on the zip line, tug of war inside. When tired, he'll start to act up; just like a toddler, he doesn't know he needs to nap yet. We work at home and he naps in our office between walks. Reaction to New People: Excited, curious. He is still working on jumping and being mouthy when he is excited to see someone. Kid Friendly: 12+ Lobo gets excited by younger kids and he will run after, mouth/soft bite their elbows/arms. We are working with Lobo on this, but for now he does better around older, dog-savvy kids. Training: Quick learner! Sits if he's going to get something: go outside, a treat, a toy, etc. Has learned shake, starting to lay, learning 'leave it' on walks, learning 'close' on walks for loose leash with both a collar and gentle leader. Grooming Needs: Lobo has a typical husky coat that will require regular, thorough grooming. We recommend at least once per week, and more when he is blowing his coat (about twice per year). Fence: Lobo is doing well on a tie-out and respects baby gates in the house. He would likely do well with a securely fenced-in yard. Solo or Siblings: Lobo lived with another dog in a previous home. He may do well with appropriate introductions or could be your one and only! From the Foster: Lobo is a great boy, who is still working on a couple of things. He pulls on walks and gets excited by squirrels, rabbits, birds, and other dogs. He learns really quick and has made huge strides so far, but we are continuing to fine tune his training. He is a great running partner, pulling for up to 1.5 miles and then running alongside me for 1.5 miles. I believe he will be able to go further with continued workouts and could be a good candidate for dog sports. He can be silly and likes to play. He's protective of long-lasting snacks like a bone or filled Kong, and he counter surfs, so any opportunities to get at unsupervised food should be carefully managed. After a few weeks of settling in, I see Lobo learning the rules through training and routine. Lobo would do best with a strong experienced leader that is willing to continue his training. He will make a great partner for an active family who is ready to set him up for success!

Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: Unknown Housebroken: She has not had an accident in the family room where her and the puppies are staying. She has had a couple of accidents upstairs. Energy Level: Medium Reaction to New People: Loves to meet new people. She does not jump but is excited to greet them. Kid Friendly: Yes Training: Working on a bunch of stuff. She knows her Gee's and Ha's. Does well with leave it and on by. Needs to learn sit. Very treat oriented. Grooming Needs: Typical Husky coat. Fence: Not needed Solo or Siblings: Would do well in both situations. From the Foster: Eve is an extremely sweet girl. She is starting to open and show us her beautiful personality. She walks loose leashed by herself. In typical husky fashion with the other girls in our house, she wants to be a lead dog. With her past, she is still learning how to be a dog. She is starting to learn how to play with other dogs. Her main thoughts right now are care and love for her puppies. She loves to snuggle on the couch with her foster dad and watch her puppies play. She recently has started talking to her foster sisters. Normally she is a quiet girl who loves to observe her surroundings. Given her previous life situation, she is a gem waiting to be polished.

Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Has never met Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time, but still a puppy and will need continued training Housebroken: working on it Energy Level: High Reaction to New People: Excited Kid Friendly: Yes Training: Working on it. Calvin is a young puppy Grooming Needs: Normal Husky grooming Fence: Calvin enjoys his fosters fenced in yard and would love a home with a fenced yard to run off his energy, but not 100% necessary if a strong plan is in place to keep him safe Solo or Siblings: Calvin would likely do better with a sibling. From the Foster: Calvin is a 3 month old puppy. He is a Siberian Husky Golden Retriever mix. Calvin can be shy with new things, but his foster family is working on building his confidence. Calvin loves to play with other dogs. He can be assertive with his brother Hobbes, but is submissive with the adult dogs in his foster home. Calvin is very much a puppy and loves to play with toys and chew on everything. He is a cuddle-bug and loves to bring his toys to chew on in your lap! Calvin is doing great with potty training on a fixed schedule. Being a puppy, though, Calvin is not yet able to make it a full night without being let out to go to the bathroom. Calvin will require a family that is able to continue his potty training until he is older and able to hold his bladder for longer periods of time.
