Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Balto, one of Lulu's 10 puppies that were all saved from a SD Reservation. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Balto was adopted as a puppy and returned as an adult due to family changes.  Hi I'm Balto and I am looking for my forever home. I'm from a litter of 10 puppies and we all found our forever homes until mine didn't have time for a "dog" anymore. So I ended up back at the rescue where I started. I'm in a foster home now and lucky to be with one of my sisters from my litter and I have a foster brother who is a Chihuahua mix and another sister who is younger, and I let her think she is the boss. I get along with all of them and love playing with my sisters, but I am selective with all the animals in the home at times, so I would need to be an only pet in the home so I can have all of your attention. I can socialize outside the home with other dogs, I just don't like to share when I'm in my own place. I do love going to the dog park with all my friends. I have lots of puppy energy so I need a family that will help me learn and grow. I do know your basic commands sit, stay, lay, shake, down and no. I like playing with toys, stuffies, chew bones, balls playing tug with my sister & fetch with my foster parents. I do destroy stuffies so we might want to wait on them until I'm older or if you don't mind picking up my mess I can have them.  I love playing outside with my sisters (fenced in yard) and going for walks with the whole family. I have lots of energy to burn so I need to stay busy, so I don't do any naughty things when I'm bored. (Chew toys are a must) I take naps after a good play or walk, and I love to snuggle with my human and sometimes I think I'm a lap dog. I'm a good eater, drink lots of water and treats are good too but make me work for them so I don't forget my training. My foster parents tell me I'm a good boy when getting my treats & boy do I like that. I also like to relax and just sit in the yard / deck and watch the squirrels and birds. I'm okay by myself but would prefer my human to relax with me(snuggles). I also love to hold your hand with my paw when we're just chilling. I do great in the car and love going for rides and watching out the window. I'm good with meeting new people, I love the attention, and I sit for kids and let them give me all the pets and belly rubs they want. When we go for our walks, I do good when passing other people and dogs unless they want to meet me, then I sit and get all the pets I can. When at home I do get jealous if my foster brother or sister are getting attention, so I like to push my way in and get the attention for myself I'm working on that. I'm also working on sharing toys and chew bones with my foster siblings, I like to have them all to myself but my foster parents tell me I am getting better at sharing them, I just need to be reminded at times. I'm still a young boy learning. We have cats in my foster home, but I don't know how to react/play with them, I just get so excited that I scare them; so, at this time, I cannot be around the cats. My foster parents think when I'm older I could maybe have a cat sibling. So, at this time, I am good with kids, a fenced in yard and no dogs in the home (play dates are fine) and no cats. If you think you are my forever home and family and will continue to work with me let's meet. I'm ready for my forever family.  Oh, I am not suited for apartment living, I like to alert to noises and there are far too many in that environment for me to keep quiet. I can get quite loud at times while I am saving the home and people from those sounds.  Balto is fully potty trained and will go to the door and bark/whine when he needs to go out. He also sleeps through the night anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on how much exercise he had the day before. He loves to sleep with his humans but will sleep on the floor, couch or dog bed if preferred. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 16, 2025, 12:53 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus tax Presley is a spunky, independent, sweet loving girl who is going to make a great companion! She is an incredibly intelligent and active dog who will certainly keep you on your toes. She has mastered every puzzle we’ve given her but still gets very excited at the sight of them. Presley is housebroken and walks well on a leash, but could benefit from some general obedience training (mostly recall). She responds VERY well to training and is quick to pick up on new commands. She is very athletic and would definitely love to do some fun obstacle courses or agility training. Her favorite things to do are go for walks, watch squirrels in the backyard, and play at the dog park. She is the friendliest little girl with other dogs and tends to befriend every dog at the park as well as their humans. Presley is great with kids but would probably do best in a home with children over the age of 8 as she tends to lack physical awareness :). She will occasionally bark at people at the door or when she needs to go potty, but she is not excessively vocal. She needs a family who is regularly active and will give her the daily stimulation she needs to thrive. Presley has been a wonderful source of joy and laughter in our home and I’m very excited to soon see her thrive in her forever home!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Meet Oden, a Husky born approx 3/1/23. Oden is mostly house-trained. He is getting used to being tied out in the yard and in a kennel. He only stays in there during the day, so the cat has a chance to do his thing. Oden sleeps with me (in bed) all night. He seems slightly interested in the cat, but the cat wants nothing to do with him, so there hasn't been much interaction. He doesn’t chase down the cat or try to get to the cat when the cat is around. He is AMAZING with my five-year-old. He is very playful and thinks life is a game. He has the attitude of a typical husky. He wants to lead on a leash and pull you around, and he never wants to do something he doesn’t like (i.e., go into his kennel). He will run around playing a game of chase. He loves his bone and rope; he will play tug of war. He is so cuddly and sweet. He is a runner and would be best suited in a place where he can have a lot of space to run. He cannot wait to find his forever family!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Tyr is a male Siberian Husky born approximately 4/21/20 who recently came to us from a Reservation. He has a lot of energy and loves to play with our other dogs. Tyr also likes to spend time outside even when it is cold. Despite having the energy level of a young husky, he is also perfectly happy to curl up next to or on the lap of one of his favorite humans to watch a movie or two. Tyr ignores our cat most of the time. The cat can play and be naughty beside him, and Tyr leaves him alone. However, we noticed that Tyr can be selective when it comes to new dogs. Proper introduction is highly recommended. Another thing to note is Tyr can be food reactive. If there are other dogs or people nearby and he is eating, he may react.  Tyr treats his crate as a safe space and will go in willingly if the door is left open or for short periods of time for a time out, but he does not like to be left in the crate. He will hurt himself trying to get out of the crate if left for a long time. He will likewise pee in the crate. If we have to go on errands, we leave him in the house with our other dogs. We found out that being left by himself, despite not being in the crate, causes separation anxiety. He will try to get out of the house by chewing and clawing at doors and siding. He will also try to chew doorknobs. Sadly, the one incident of doorknob chewing damaged his canine and it had to be extracted. Tyr will need dental care to make sure his teeth do not get damaged further.  When it comes to feeding, we suspect that his previous owner fed him in his crate since he does not eat much from a dish left out in the open and seems to feel more secure eating in the crate. Tyr knows basic commands like sit and shake. He will tell you if needs to go potty.   Since Huskies tend to have a high energy level and separation anxiety, we think he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and is able to provide the physical and mental stimulation he needs. If not around most of the time, it will be better for Tyr to go to a home with another dog that he can bond with to ease his separation anxiety.  A home with a fenced-in yard will be the most ideal forever home for Tyr. He is an extremely talented escape artist and sees escaping as a game. He will not return even if you call out to him. Chasing him will make him run faster and further away.   As you can see from the pictures, he is a gorgeous black and white husky with one blue and one brown eye. He is also very fluffy and soft... perfect to cuddle with! If you think Tyr is the right dog for your family, please submit an application today!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Aspen, an irresistible Husky mix who's sure to steal your heart! This affectionate and sweet boy is as friendly as they come and gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets. Aspen thrives in the company of dogs his size or larger, though he may need a gradual introduction to male dogs. Fully potty-trained, kennel-trained, and an absolute dream to walk on a leash, Aspen is the perfect companion for an active household.  Like many Huskies, Aspen is an escape artist, so a secure, fenced yard is essential to keep him safe and sound. He loves to play with toys, run, and have fun with his foster siblings. While he hasn't been around cats, Aspen does have a high prey drive. However, he’s proven to be great with older children and is always eager to explore new experiences with his playful and friendly nature. Aspen prefers to eat in his kennel, as he doesn’t like sharing food with the other dogs.  Aspen is the type of dog who will greet you with pure excitement and joy every time you come home. His loving personality will light up your day and leave you smiling.  If you’re new to Huskies, be ready for some shedding and regular brushing, but with Aspen's big heart, the extra grooming is well worth it. He’d thrive in a home with another dog for companionship, and the lucky person or family who adopts him will gain a loyal, loving, and happy companion for years to come.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
All Sherlock and Watson want for Christmas is a loving forever home! 🎄❤️ These two bonded babes were saved by my rescue in the beginning of Sept. from euthanasia due to shelter overcrowding at the Moreno Valley shelter east of LA, CA. They have been pleasures to have in rescue. They are incredibly sweet, calm, dog-friendly boys- Sherlock (2) is the braver of the pair and Watson (4) is his little shadow. We suspect they may have been debarked as neither can properly bark. For huskies, they are rather un-husky like- not high energy, gentle and quiet and don't tend to demonstrate escape artist tendencies. We haven't tested them with cats although we suspect they may be okay. As young huskies, they need walks and a backyard to run. They are bonded and must stay together for life so we are only looking for people interested in them as a pair. 👯 UTD on all vaccines, neutered and microchipped. No known health issues, no special medications, and eat a regular diet. www.bubblesdogrescue.org
