Wachiwi has a lot of energy that she is able to run off with the other dog in our household.  It would be great if she could go to a home where someone can play with her or walk her often. She can by mouthy and as such she should not be around young kids. Age: 10 years old Weight: 82 lbs Dog friendly: yes, companion dog required Cat friendly: yes Kid friendly: yes Potty trained: yes Crate trained: no, will use an x-pen *Companion dog required* Hi! My name is Kodiak. My current foster dad likes to call me Kodi. Not to toot my own horn, but I am a beautiful Husky and Malamute mix. I spent nine long years with my previous family, but unfortunately they could no longer care for me. I would definitely consider myself a gentle giant who absolutely loves a good cuddle. Wherever you decide to hang out I'll be there to provide a nice and fluffy pup to hug. My previous family was composed of my mom, my sister (she was such a small dog), and my brother (I always thought he was different... turns out he's what's called a cat!) My foster dad loves plants and animals. And I've proven myself to be great with all of them. I've been caught chilling on the couch with my fosters dog and cat on multiple occasions. I do need to be honest with you about a few things... my previous mother was older. And because of that I've developed some "bad" habits. When left alone my anxiety definitely gets the best of me. There have been occasions where I've had accidents on my foster dad's floors due to anxiety. I'm also a stress eater and will swipe whatever I can reach off the counters when I'm alone. My foster dad reassures me that all of my lovable traits definitely outweigh the negative ones. I hope you give me a chance, and I'm looking forward to being in my forever home! ~Sincerely Kodi Adoption Fee: $325    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? I have been loving life since I came into rescue. Getting attention and pets from humans in is absolutely the best! I am great with all the people I meet. I flash my beautiful blue eyes at them and they can’t resist giving me some attention. I have a whole pack worth of friends at my foster house and I love to play with the little one especially. He is really fun. I have a couple of human kids at home too that I am great with and love to lay on their legs at night. Walks seem to be a new thing for me, but I am learning fast and LOVE exploring my new world. I am potty trained but don’t love my crate yet. I am good there at night when my people are sleeping near me. I am not very vocal but have been known to sing along with a siren here and there. Not too loud that I bother the neighbors though. I had Parvo. It was really hard for a few days but I am all better now and back at my foster family's house. I really like it there; they have been feeding me all the snacks I can eat! I've been eating well (and a lot) since I'm a growing puppy with loads of energy! It's really fun at my foster family's house because I have 3 foster sisters and a foster brother! We play almost all day long; sometimes they need breaks from playing. I've learned really quickly how to take corrections from them.  I'm still a puppy but I am learning from my (Husky and Pitbull) siblings that we go outside for potty breaks and that being in my crate isn't that bad. I have some separation anxiety so my foster parents have put my crate in their bedroom to help me at night. I dont cry much anymore now that I can see them at night.  My foster parents say that I am living up to every typical Husky stereotype, so its probably best if I go to a very active home or with another dog. Being a Husky also means that I am cuddly and lovable so much so that when my foster mom gets up really early I get to go back in the big bed with my foster Dad for early morning naps. Story
Tyr is a male Siberian Husky born approximately 4/21/20 who recently came to us from a Reservation. He has a lot of energy and loves to play with our other dogs. Tyr also likes to spend time outside even when it is cold. Despite having the energy level of a young husky, he is also perfectly happy to curl up next to or on the lap of one of his favorite humans to watch a movie or two. Tyr ignores our cat most of the time. The cat can play and be naughty beside him, and Tyr leaves him alone. However, we noticed that Tyr can be selective when it comes to new dogs. Proper introduction is highly recommended. Another thing to note is Tyr can be food reactive. If there are other dogs or people nearby and he is eating, he may react.  Tyr treats his crate as a safe space and will go in willingly if the door is left open or for short periods of time for a time out, but he does not like to be left in the crate. He will hurt himself trying to get out of the crate if left for a long time. He will likewise pee in the crate. If we have to go on errands, we leave him in the house with our other dogs. We found out that being left by himself, despite not being in the crate, causes separation anxiety. He will try to get out of the house by chewing and clawing at doors and siding. He will also try to chew doorknobs. Sadly, the one incident of doorknob chewing damaged his canine and it had to be extracted. Tyr will need dental care to make sure his teeth do not get damaged further.  When it comes to feeding, we suspect that his previous owner fed him in his crate since he does not eat much from a dish left out in the open and seems to feel more secure eating in the crate. Tyr knows basic commands like sit and shake. He will tell you if needs to go potty.   Since Huskies tend to have a high energy level and separation anxiety, we think he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and is able to provide the physical and mental stimulation he needs. If not around most of the time, it will be better for Tyr to go to a home with another dog that he can bond with to ease his separation anxiety.  A home with a fenced-in yard will be the most ideal forever home for Tyr. He is an extremely talented escape artist and sees escaping as a game. He will not return even if you call out to him. Chasing him will make him run faster and further away.   As you can see from the pictures, he is a gorgeous black and white husky with one blue and one brown eye. He is also very fluffy and soft... perfect to cuddle with! If you think Tyr is the right dog for your family, please submit an application today!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
This is Banjo! He’s a Husky born 8/27/22. Banjo is a sweet & intelligent dog, who does great with other dogs, loves toys & shows no issues towards adults or children.  He craves attention & interaction. He has been around dogs of all sizes & cats, even though he did bark at cats. He is learning to walk on a leash & since he doesn't have a lot of confidence, should be tethered carefully outside of a fenced yard, as he doesn't always come when called.  He only barks when other dogs bark, and has been submissive to senior dogs. He is not highly food or treat motivated, so training to come inside or go into the kennel is a work in progress. Once in his kennel, he does very well & sleeps quietly all night.  He does well in the car too! An active family would be the best for this young man, who still has much to learn & is eager to please! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Meg! I’m a Husky born 12/19/21. I have lots of energy and would benefit from regular walks and/or an active person or family. I do okay on a leash. I don’t pull a whole lot but could benefit from some leash training. I do well in a kennel but my current foster family lets me have full reign of the house with the other dogs. I live with two other dogs and do well with them, however, the puppy in my still gets excited and I’ve nipped a time or two. I also live with two cats. I’m curious about them but don’t make any attempts to hurt or chase them. I also live with an 8 year old human. I may not be good for a home with smaller children as I am a bigger dog and haven’t learned how to greet you without jumping on you yet. I know the word down and will get down after a big slobbery kiss hello. I enjoy car rides and make an amazing travel companion. I enjoy snuggles with my foster family and trying to be a lap dog even if I don’t always fit. I’m pretty well potty trained. I’ve had a few accidents in the house while adjusting to my new home, but my foster family is getting better at picking up my cues that I need to go outside. I am generally pretty quiet but I will bark to say hello when you come from work, when the kid opens his bedroom door in the morning and out the window at the neighbor in their own driveway (the nerve of them to use their own driveway and not even show me love). My barks may be too loud in an apartment setting. I have lots of love to give and can’t wait to meet you.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Milo! I’m a husky mix born 3/17/22 who is looking for some new roommates! So far, it seems like I love everyone I meet! I live with a five year old and a bunch of other dogs and do well with them all. I can come on kind of strong because I’m so playful but I respond well to corrections from my doggy friends! I LOVE to play with other dogs or humans.  I sleep quietly in my kennel overnight and when my people are gone. I do need to be kenneled until I learn what is chewable and what is not. I ride nice & politely in the car. I don’t bark at things while I’m in the car, or on walks but I do bark a lot during play and in general to talk back when I’m not getting my way. I keep my kennel clean at night, and only had a few ‘marking’ accidents when I first came to my foster home. If I wear a belly band at first when I come home, I should be good to go!  I walk well on a leash, typically I’m on a long line when mom takes me for walks. I love both snow & water, so if you’re looking for an active dog or playmate companion, I might just be what you’re looking for. Let my foster mom know so she can schedule a playdate!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! My name is Reggie. I’m a husky mix born 12/17/23. I am a snuggly little guy. I love to snuggle with my foster mom, my sister and the resident dogs. I am kennel trained and do great in it during the day for two hours while foster mom is at work. I will even put myself to bed at night. I am working on my basic commands. I’m working on going potty outside and am doing great on a schedule. I will even let you know when I have to go outside. I have recently found my voice and foster mom says that I’m a vocal little dude. I do bark in my kennel if I know that your home. She said shared walls might not be good for me due to me being vocal. I love to follow my foster mom around the house. I love to play in the yard with my sister and the big resident malamute. Foster mom says due to my breed, a fenced in yard would be ideal. Because of my breed, I love to blow my coat in the summer and enjoy a good brushing. Story
Please meet Ruby, she is a one of a kind little girl. She’s a Husky mix born approximately 12/17/23. Her eyes are mesmerizing, and her pink nose just adds to her good looks.  She is doing so well on training and learning to be a good dog. Her recall is already amazing, she comes when she is called and just needs a little love for her reward. She is doing really well at potty training too! She sleeps in a runner kennel in the garage at night and then roams the home during the day. She uses the pee pads by the door when we are gone. She is all puppy and loves to play, chew on her toys and the occasional magazines if we leave it out, my bad. She loves to nap on my lap and is so darn sweet. She would be a good dog by herself or with other dogs in your home as she loves to play with all our resident pups. Please consider adding this little girl to your life!
