Location: Minneapolis, MN Vicki is the sweetest pup, we absolutely adore her! She’s affectionate, smart, and energetic. Her blue eyes and expressive ears will melt anyone’s heart. She’s still working some puppy tendencies (e.g., chewing, jumping up) out of her system, but she’s doing well with crate training, walking, and learning tricks. She is also potty trained! For a husky, she’s remarkably quiet: she doesn’t bark, and only whines a little. Vicki is also a classic husky who needs LOTS of exercise (~2 hours per day) and mental stimulation. She does great with long walks (she does get very excited by squirrels and bunnies!) and would eventually be a great bike, run, or ski buddy with more leash training. She would probably love a fenced yard to play fetch and watch the birds, but it’s not absolutely necessary :). If she’s gotten the exercise and mental stimulation she needs, she just wants to flop down next to her people and get lots of belly rubs. She is good with other dogs and is very playful! She would probably do well as a solo dog or with another well-trained dog to show her the ropes and be a play buddy. Location: Buffalo, MN Garth is such a happy boy! His favorite things are to play with other dogs and eat. He is working on getting his hair nice grown after recovering from mange, but don't let that stop you from adopting him. Its just looks after all... He will likely have long hair similar to a husky. He is potty and crate trained and has never had an accident in the house. He is fostered with other dogs and a cat and is good with all. There are also two human toddlers and he has no issues. He's really good about not jumping on humans other than maybe when he's initially excited, but never on the kids. He is very outgoing at first but then he loves to take a snooze on the couch or dog bed. We are still working on leash manners. Location: Harrisburg, SD Dorothy is quiet and gentle. She loves chew toys. She does well with kids and doesn’t mind cats but will growl if she does not know them well and they get in her space. Dorothy does have some anxiety and will need someone to be patient while she learns to not fear the leash or car rides. She’s not aggressive fearful, but will have an accident or lay down and cry if you try to take her somewhere new. This little lady does prefer her familiar spot wherever that may be in the house. She also will howl with her family which is the cutest! Dorothy is silly and so affectionate when she gets to know and trust you! Location: Sioux Falls, SD I would like to introduce you to Mocha. Mocha is a 2+ year old husky/corgi mix. She is about 85 pounds and full of love. I have fostered her since August and she is a delight. She is looking for her forever home. Mocha rarely barks unless she spies a squirrel or rabbit in the yard. She loves having her fenced in yard to roam and chase things. She would thrive best in a home with adults or adults with older kids as she doesn’t recognize her size. She loves visitors but can be a bit overwhelming as she believes they are all there to pet her belly. She can also be vocal if you don’t pay attention to her - she talks. Mocha does very well in the kennel. I come and go throughout the day for my work and all I have to do is tell her to go in the kennel and give her a little treat and she is happy. She often lets me know it is bedtime by going into her kennel on her own at night. She has a couple toys she loves to play with and will fetch a ball outside. She is getting better about bringing it back to me although she doesn’t always “drop it” so I can throw it again. She is not currently around other pets. She would likely do well with a dog her size or bigger. She doesn’t seem to understand what cats are for so likely not a good choice for her. She is not really a cuddle dog but is usually nearby and loves attention.
