Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.  Midas is a truly special boy with the gentlest soul. He is quietly resilient and full of heart, just waiting for a forever family to show him that the best chapters of his life are still ahead. When Midas first came into rescue, he was severely emaciated and had clearly not received the care he needed and deserved. Thanks to a careful refeeding program and lots of love, he has been steadily gaining weight and strength. Watching him fill out and grow more confident each day has been nothing short of incredible. Midas would thrive in a home with another confident, well balanced dog who can continue to show him how to simply be a dog again. He looks to other dogs for reassurance and learns beautifully by example. He gets along well with cats and is gentle with kids, making him a wonderful addition to many types of families. He knows basic commands and has great house manners. It should be noted that because of his past, he can sometimes have accidents in the home when he becomes scared, worried or anxious about being confined and left alone all by himself. This is another reason why a confident canine companion would greatly benefit him. With consistency, reassurance, and time, it is expected that this behavior will continue to improve. Midas does not do well in a kennel and becomes very anxious when confined. The good news is that he can be trusted when left out in the home and settles in comfortably. Midas is not just looking for a home. He is looking for safety, patience, and love. In return, you will receive unwavering loyalty, gentle affection, and a companion who will always be grateful for his second chance. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  ##2643901##

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 49lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, good with new dogs she meets. Does best with male dogs. Small Dog Friendly: So far, she has been good with the few smaller dogs she has met on leash. Cat Friendly: NO - very high prey drive. Crate Trained: Very short periods of time, and only while we are home. Trusted to free roam when we’re not home, but our home is pretty much husky-proof. Has a history of harming herself when crated in her first foster home. Housebroken: Yes, she will let you know when she needs to go out. Energy Level: She has her calm times and long naps, and she also gets zoomies and loves to play rough a few times a day like most huskies. She loves walks and loves to be outside watching squirrels or bunnies in a fenced yard. Reaction to New People: Good with adults and older kids. Working on manners and socialization. Kid Friendly: Older, calmer kids are best for her. Smaller children make her nervous, especially if they get too close too fast. Training: She knows the basics; sits before getting her food dish and is pretty good at coming when called. Could use some better leash manners but has improved. She really wants to meet and play with other friendly dogs on walks. She would likely benefit from some socialization to gain confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat brushing about once a week or so, more when blowing her coat. She does shed less than other huskies we’ve had, her fur is on the shorter side which helps. Does okay with baths but only needs that once or twice a year. Gets dirty while playing, but the dirt tends to fall off quickly – it’s a husky thing. Fence: Yuki would do best with at least a 4-foot-high fence, 6 feet would be better. She loves to be outside; rain or snow do not bother her much. She hasn’t tried to dig out lately but is a true husky escape artist so should be supervised even with a fence! Solo or Siblings: Yuki would do best with a male dog with lots of energy to match hers in play. Preferably male husky (or other high energy dog) around her age or younger. Once she got comfortable in her foster home, she started being less tolerant of female dogs in the home. We’ve been working on that. She could also do well as a solo dog, with lots of play and attention to get her energy out. From the Foster: Yuki is a sweet, furry little princess who loves attention and belly rubs. She has her relaxation times and has her zoomies and loves to play. She’s a bit shy and hesitant in new situations and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She loves attention and belly rubs; she will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is quite a talker, like many huskies are, and when the neighborhood dogs bark, she howls to join in. She is an all-around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who may be shy and nervous at first, but who settles in fairly quickly to be her true husky self. She would love to have a more mature human or family to experience life with, and to help her learn to enjoy the world

Name: Macy Sex: Female Color: Black & White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 10/10/25 Weight: 12 lbs. and growing Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Housebroken: 90 % Energy Level: High/Puppy Reaction to New People: Excited and I may pee a little 🫣 Kid Friendly: Yes Training: Sit so far, working on stay and leave it. Grooming Needs: Expect a typical husky coat and grooming needs Fence: Yes or no could be on a tie out Solo or Siblings: Either From the Foster: Macy is a sweet loving puppy. Unbelievably she was found lost in the city of St. Paul and no owner was found or claimed her from the shelter. Snuggles when it’s on her terms. Macy does great in her kennel when it is covered. Sleeps all night and will take naps in it on her own. Loves to play with toys. She quickly learned to use our doggy door and goes out potty by herself when we are home, although sometimes we have an accident. She gets very excited for her meal times so we are using a puzzle bowl to slow down her eating. We have submitted an Embark DNA test and will share what she is mixed with. Typically takes 6-8 weeks to get the results. Adoption Fee: $450 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Nugget Sex: Female Color: Red & white Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 06/11/21 Weight: 50 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, with a slow introduction and the right dog. Nugget can be a bit bossy when she gets nervous. Small Dog Friendly: She recently spent a weekend with a pug and had no issues. She seemed curious and unsure about what to think of a smaller dog. Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: Yes Housebroken: Yes Energy Level: Medium Reaction to New People: Friendly Kid Friendly: She would do well with kids age 12+. Her foster family does not have children. Training: Knows sit and is working on the other basics. Grooming Needs: Nugget has a standard husky coat which will require regular thorough brushing. You should aim for once a week or so, and more when she is blowing her coat, typically twice a year. Fence: Fence or tie-out will work fine. She has shown no interest in testing fence boundaries. Solo or Siblings: She would be fine as an only dog or with a confident, laid-back sibling. From the Foster: Nugget came to AAHMN after being in two different shelter facilities for a few weeks. She was on a euthanasia list but luckily found a place with this rescue. Understandably, Nugget was quite stressed when she first came to her foster home but is now much more settled. She must have had a nice family at some point in her past because she loves people! She likes to snuggle and LOVES belly rubs! She is eager to please and is happy when you’re happy. Unless it's breakfast time and you’re not getting her food fast enough, then she’ll talk at you to hurry up! Nugget is currently living with a fur foster brother and enjoys playing with him, but she would be perfectly fine as an only dog too. She has shown some resource guarding around food and toys, but her foster family is working with her and she has been improving. She recently had a session with a trainer who thinks this issue stems from lingering uncertainty about her environment after being in a shelter for so long. A home that can provide consistency and structure will help her relax and be her best self, so any children in her new home should be 12+. Previous dog owner experience would also be beneficial for her. Other than that, we think Nugget will make a great addition to her new family and are excited for her to find her forever home. She deserves it! Adoption Fee: $350 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Salome Sex: Female Color: Black & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 07/29/17 Weight: 46lbs Large Dog Friendly: She is still a little afraid, but she would much rather be around the size dogs as herself. Small Dog Friendly: Yes - she just doesn't know what to think of them yet - we are introducing her to more smaller breeds via neighbors and she does well with them so far. Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: She is trained, she does still need positive reinforcement to get into the kennel - (lead training into the crate but once she is in there she is ok) she does howl ever so often when she is in the kennel so not ideal for Apartment living situations. Housebroken: yes, she is a former breeder dog. From time to time, she has accidents, but they are easily corrected. She is much better now! Energy Level: Mellow/Chill Reaction to New People: Howler but friendly. Kid Friendly: A home without young children would be best for Salome, 12 and older would be ideal. Loud or fast movements are scary for her. Training: walk on leash, inside. Still working on sit, stay and lay. Grooming Needs: weekly brushing - she loves the vacuum brush. Fence: 5 ft or privacy recommended! Solo or Siblings: She is being fostered with a 7-month-old, they get along, but a little too much for her. Highly recommend a sibling that is 3+ years old. She would also do just fine Solo. From the Foster: Salome’s Journey 💕 Salome has truly come a long way. When she first came into care, she didn’t know what love was, what it meant to be a dog, or how to feel safe in a home. With time, patience, and gentle care, she’s started to discover the simple joys she once missed out on.She enjoys her walks and prefers to stay right by your side rather than pull ahead. She’s learned how cozy a dog bed can be and now loves curling up for naps. The kennel isn’t her favorite, but she’ll go in if she needs to. In the mornings, she greets the day with a little bark or happy chatter—just to be noticed and loved. Once she gets that bit of attention, she’s content. She’s also good at letting you know when it’s time to go outside, either by sitting by the door or giving a soft bark. Salome still has a journey ahead of her, but she’s shown so much strength and heart already. We believe she’ll make a wonderful companion for the right family—whether as a solo dog or with an older, calm sibling. She’s a bit shy around children at first and appreciates having her quiet space and rest time. She’s a gentle soul with so much love to give. Every now and then she has playful little moments that make us smile—still learning that it’s okay to be carefree. We’re so proud of how far she’s come, and can’t wait to see where her journey leads next. ❤️ Adoption Fee: $275 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.
