Kodi is an 8 yo male Siberian Husky who we’re looking to re home. Kodi has been a great dog and this has been a difficult decision to make. We have a toddler and crawling infant and Kodi can get a little protective of his food. He always deserves way more attention than we can give him right now. Kodi loves being outside, hiking, or swimming. He can also just hang out at home and watch a movie. Kodi is completely potty trained with no accidents. Good with most other dogs and cats.

Story
Kodi is an 8 yo male Siberian Husky. I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old. Kodi has been a great companion over the years. He’s really the best of both worlds. He loves to go on hikes and play outside, but also doesn’t mind being inside lounging. I’ve dog sat a few husky’s and they were very high strung inside. Kodi isn’t like that. We’ve got a toddler and and crawling infant in the house now and just don’t want to take the chance. Kodi guards his food a little, mostly around kids and other pets. He’s very friendly with other dogs at the dog park.

After spending time in both the shelter and foster homes, we’ve learned a lot about what will help this handsome guy be successful in his next chapter.At heart, Mango is a loving, playful dog who enjoys being with his people. He loves attention, playtime, and getting out for exercise. Mango has done well with female dogs around his size and may enjoy sharing his home with a socially appropriate female canine companion. He is not a good match for cats or other small animals due to his prey drive.Mango is looking for a dog-experienced family that is excited to continue working on his training and give him the structure and consistency he needs. While in foster, we learned that Mango is still working on some important household skills, including housetraining, appropriate chewing, and keeping all four paws to himself during play! He will benefit from a consistent routine, frequent opportunities to potty outside, plenty of appropriate chew toys and enrichment, and thoughtful management when he cannot be supervised.Mango is also continuing to work on his leash skills. He is a strong guy who can pull when excited, so his future family should be comfortable handling an active Husky and using positive, reward-based training to help him continue building those skills.Because Mango can be sensitive and sometimes needs space, he is looking for a home with teens and adults rather than small children. A family familiar with Huskies or other active, intelligent breeds would be a wonderful fit.Mango isn’t looking for someone who expects perfection on day one. He’s looking for someone willing to give him consistency, patience, appropriate outlets, and the opportunity to keep learning.
