Story
and energetic 5-year-old husky Zuma, loves daily walks and would be a great exercise and adventure companion. Zuma LOVES kids and has been raised with young children in his home. He has lived with his current owners since he was a puppy. He has the most gorgeous blue eyes and is not bothered by inclement WA weather! Tall and gorgeous, ZUMA weighs 62lbs. Zuma is leash trained He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys dog play after the appropriate amount of warming up time. Cats are unknown because he’s never been around them. Zuma is super smart, knows his basic commands and loves to play fetch. He is house trained and crate trained too. Zuma can be trusted to be alone in the house, but he does enjoy and seek out his crate often. Not surprisingly, Zuma loves people the most, especially men. He’s a real “pleaser” and needs and loves his daily exercise. He prefers a good walk or fetch-time rather than a long hike and definitely needs a new family that is active and has time for him. Zuma does great in the car and loves car rides- so he’d make a good adventure or errand buddy too. Zuma loves the beach and the water. This super fun and most deserving boy is vaccinated and neutered. Zuma is available to meet at his home in Enumclaw. Please contact his mom Ellie at elliesheaburbank@gmail.com or 253-259-0569.

Story
We adopted our sweet girl when she was about a year old, and she’s been part of our family ever since. She’s an active, affectionate husky who loves long walks, daycare playtime, and soaking up all the attention she can get. For the past five years, she’s been my loyal walking buddy—always excited to meet new people and collect a few extra pets along the way. She’s food-motivated (treats are her love language!) and adores being part of family activities. While she’s not particularly into toys, she enjoys puzzles and chew toys that challenge her mind and help her burn energy. She truly is a loving, gentle soul who thrives on companionship and attention. Like many huskies, she has plenty of energy and would do best with someone or a family who can give her the time, exercise, and affection she deserves. Unfortunately, our situation has changed over the last few years and despite doing our best to make sure she has the home she deserves, we can tell she deserves more.

Story
Moonpie is quite literally the best dog and a man’s best friend. She is just under a year old, she is so sweet, loving, loyal, affectionate, playful, great with small children, great with other animals, including other dogs, she honestly is the perfect dog. Our family motto is that once you get a pet you never let it go and that is your family member, that is why this is such a hard thing for us to do. We have underwent some extreme family hardships recently, and unfortunately, she deserves far greater than what we are able to do right now. Moonpie needs… more like deserves… a large yard, someone who can physically and emotionally give her attention, spoil her with treats, walks and someone who will make sure her life is made the best it can be. She is high energy at times but also so gentle. She listens to commands well. She’s the sweetest girl on earth. We are even willing to take her back if it isn’t the right fit. Story
Weve had Max for about a year. Hes a very good dog. Very happy to get pets and affection. Not super hyper, like to relax and chill, but will play with you on occasion. Very good with children, and my cat. When he sees other dogs on walks he barks in a playful fashion, never aggressive. My son started to have really bad allergy problems, and unfortunately we are unable to keep him any longer. I don’t want to take him back to the shelter, I want him to go to a good home.

Story
Hello! My name is Box. I am available to adopt. Box came to the shelter as a stray, and we’re still getting to know him. He’s a thoughtful, observant guy who can feel a little nervous in new situations, so he’s looking for a dog-experienced home that’s comfortable reading canine body language and helping him build confidence at his own pace.Once Box warms up, his personality really shines! He loves going on long walks, taking in all the smells, and spending quality time with his people. Despite his husky roots, Box is a more compact guy and could do well in an apartment or home setting, as long as his family is committed to providing daily exercise and mental enrichment to keep both his body and brain happy.Box has participated in playgroup and has done well with laid-back female dogs around his size. He tends to prefer female dogs over males and enjoys calm, polite canine companions. His history with cats is unknown at this time, so adopters should be committed to slow, careful introductions with any resident pets in the home.We think Box would do best in a home with teens and adults, as young children are not the best match for him.If you’re someone who enjoys earning a dog’s trust and watching a relationship grow, Box could be an incredibly rewarding companion. Come meet him at the shelter and see if he’s the sidekick you’ve been waiting for! Stop by the shelter during regular business hours to visit available pets. AVHS is open 6 days a week 11am-6pm, closed Wednesdays, adoptions wrap up at 5:30pm each day. Please note: Pet descriptions are based on what we`ve observed or might expect. Pets may behave differently in a home, so we recommend slow introductions and training support. Ask about the `3-3-3 rule` when bringing home a new pet.

Story
Harry is an absolutely stunning puupy.  Pictures don't capture how beautiful he is. He will be a medium sized dog when fully grown. Harry is a very happy little boy. He loves to play with the other dogs, people, and toys. Harry gets along with cats and loves children. His caregivers have worked with him to have great leash manners. He is learning commands and has mastered sitting. He will be easy to train. He has beautiful soft coat and loves to be brushed and fussed over. Harry is very affectionate. Harry will be a great addition to any family. ##2018522##
