URGENT FOSTER/RESCUE NEEDED: Bonded Senior Dogs  Chewy is a 10-year-old Lab and  Brody is a 7-year-old Mastiff (?)mix (appears possibly younger)! BOTH NEUTEREDBrody & Chewy - The Magically Delicious Duo! These two gentlemen are absolutely PERFECT and we can't get enough of their sweet souls! What makes them magically delicious? They're professional nappers (seriously, they've mastered the art of the perfect snooze) Siesta enthusiasts who know the value of a good afternoon cuddle  Toy connoisseurs who still have that playful spark in their eyes  Walking buddies who appreciate life's simple pleasures Cuddle experts who will melt your heart instantly  These distinguished older gents come with a few lumps and bumps (don't we all?), but their hearts are pure gold. They're acting like the perfect gentlemen they are - sweet, loving, and ready to bring joy to their forever family. Brody and Chewy are currently in temporary foster and desperately need a forever home to avoid returning to shelter life. They deserve to spend their golden years being spoiled and loved! Everything is covered - these boys just need someone to see past their senior status to the magical souls underneath.  What They Need: A foster home or adopter that can keep them together Must be located in Northern New Jersey Have not been tested with small dogs or small animals. Prefer separation from other animals until they're better assessed, but they seem okay with dogs.  These boys are loving, gentle souls who deserve a chance to heal and enjoy their senior years together. Can you open your heart and home to help them? Please apply immediately if you can help!August 28, 2025, 1:27 am

Story
Ziggy – Social Butterfly Quote from foster family: Ziggy is an incredibly sweet boy. He’s friendly, great with other dogs, cats, children and adults, and is excited to meet everyone. He is so easy to take on adventures and loves to snuggle. We think his good-boy rating is 100%!  Woof-Facts: Name: Ziggy  Breed: Lab mix Weight: 50 lbs Age: 10 years Gender: Male Health: Neutered; up to date on vaccines More Info:  Forever home recommendations: Ziggy is a devoted companion who loves being with his people. Therefore, we are looking for a forever home who will include him in their daily life. Ideal adopters will embrace having an affectionate senior dog and understand the commitment that comes along with caring for an older pet. Moderate activity level is needed, as he enjoys outdoor time and play but does not require intense exercise. He would do well in a variety of home situations, as long he’s provided with plenty of attention and companionship.  Kids: Excellent with children of all ages Dogs: Very friendly with all dogs Cats: Cat-friendly, has lived successfully with cats Crate trained: Unknown, but doesn't require being in a crate when left alone House trained: Yes Leash manners: Excellent with leash walking Personality: Ziggy loves everyone he meets! He's an affectionate senior who has a playful spirit yet knows how to relax. While he's independent enough to be left alone during the day, he does get a bit anxious when separated from his people, though never destructive. This social butterfly just doesn't want to miss out on any fun! He's the perfect blend of loving companion and easy-going friend. How did Ziggy find himself at Rescue Haven Foundation: Ziggy was found as a stray and taken to a local municipal shelter. Despite his friendly nature and obvious previous family life, no one came to claim this sweet boy. The municipal shelter partnered with Rescue Haven Foundation to help find Ziggy the loving forever home he deserves. November 21, 2025, 10:08 am

Story
Meet Rockefeller a.k.a. the love bug. He is a 21 month old, fully house broken/crate trained Labrador. Rockefeller is a purebred AKC registered Black Lab. I adopted him from a wonderful responsible breeder based in NJ and IA. He is a ball of energy and loves to play with any and everyone. He is very obedient (sits, stays, comes when called) but needs a little more work on leash pulling. Another great thing about Rockefeller is he barely barks, which I hear is unusual for a lab. He is fully up to date on all vaccines. Great temperament and loves to cuddle (when he feels like it Ha!). Looking for a great person/family who will love this love bug. Unfortunately, do to circumstances in my personal life, I have to part with my handsome guy, so I am looking for someone who will give him the life he deserves.

ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)       Sweet 3m old Roger from Puerto Rico. All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. She’s smart as a whip, house trained, and unbelievably loving. She loves long walks or runs, exploring outside, and any and all chew toys. After getting her energy out during the day, she’s the best snuggler on the couch, but if you stop petting her, she’ll be sure to let you know she wants you to keep going! She’s always down for a belly rub, a treat, and to learn a new trick. She’s a quick study and picks up on cues and commands easily. Story
Coco came from Puerto Rico as a puppy. Coco is a sweet little chunk who loves being with her people and loves riding in the car and playing in the yard. She is housebroken and knows sit, come, leave it, stay and down. While she has lived her whole life with another dog (Choco), she would probably do best as an only child. Coco can be initially reactive on leash to other dogs but can get past it. She is 10 years old and in very good health. Coco is a sweet, happy and loving dog. She enjoys giving lots of kisses. She enjoys playing in the yard, playing with her toys and snuggling on the sofa. She is crate trained, retreats there on her own and chooses to nap with a blanket over her head. Coco is looking for a new home. Sadly, her parents are divorced and cannot bring her along. She would do well in a home with no other animals and preferably with a fenced in yard.
