Story
Rose is a 1-year-old Retriever mix weighing around 50 pounds, and she’s the kind of dog who brings a lot of fun wherever she goes. Full of energy and always ready to play, she has that happy, goofy spark that makes it hard not to smile when she’s around. She’s also incredibly loving and just a really good girl. Rose enjoys being part of whatever’s happening, whether that’s playtime, a walk, or just hanging nearby with her people. She has a sweet, affectionate side that comes out quickly once she feels comfortable. When meeting new people, Rose may pause for a second to take things in, but it doesn’t take long before her curiosity wins and she’s ready to make a new friend and show off all that love she has to give. She also seems to really enjoy her crate and settles in well there. At just a year old, Rose still has plenty of puppy-like energy and would love a home that can keep up with her playful spirit while continuing to help her grow. Approved adopters interested in Rose can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you're not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com!

Story
Name: Grandpa Rocky  Age: 10 - 14 years old Weight: 70 lbs  Breed: Labrador Terrier Mix   Grandpa Rocky was surrendered to shelter where he became the 1000th animal to take residence at the NYCACC, causing the shelter to suspend intake. Rocky made the paper - he was in the @nydailynews! That drove interest in him, adoption and rescue inquiries. But 15 days later Rocky was still with stuck at the shelter, and had developed kennel cough. His former family said he was adopted 7 years ago from a suspected fighting situation. They said he's a social, affectionate and quiet couch potato who loves to be around people. He enjoys spending his time in the kitchen, is accustomed to going on multiple walks a day, does not enjoy car rides at all but does love wet food of any brand. They said he's a social and loving dog that loves making friends and spending time with his family. Thankfully we were able to take Rocky and get him into a loving foster home where he has been recovering amazingly well. His foster mom confirms he is very sweet boy, who likes to sleep.  He’s very house broken! If he has to go out before his scheduled walk, he will lick and paw at your hand to let you know.  He doesn’t chew anything around the house and is not a barker. On walks he doesn’t pull and usually does little check ins by looking at you.  He has interacted with dogs on walks he gets a little excited but then distracted pretty easily after the initial greeting. He has ‘played’ for short period of time with dogs on walks he will smell them and will allow them to smell him and then play bow.  He’s fine with baths, he just stands there.  He solicits attention at times but he mostly just wants to nap in the same room as you. He has trouble hearing, and does not respond to when called. He does well with hand signals! Rockys tongue pokes out as he is missing some teeth. If you think you can give Rocky all the love he deserves and would like to meet him, please go to Petstablished.com or follow the link below to complete an application to adopt. Story
Pretty girl Brandy, 60 lbs, 3-5 years old is a total lover and she is happiest just to be in your company.  She has a lot of puppy energy and is looking for a family interested in playing, training and spending lots of time with her. Although she is a little wary of strangers, once you are her friend she will love you forever and will greet you with her whole body happy wiggle. Before coming to our rescue, Brandi spent 5 months at the city shelter after being found as a stray. Brandi adjusted well in her foster home, she is house broken and in good health apart from some seasonal allergies. Brandi does sometimes get nervous around loud, unexpected noises and would be happier living in a quieter home. She has done well meeting other dogs and cats but since her previous living situation is unknown to us, she will need to meet any other pets in your home. She has been great with all the people she has met but might be too playful for very small children. If you think you can give Brandi all the love she deserves and would like to meet her, please go to Petstablished.com or follow the link below to complete an application to adopt. Please note WE DO NOT RECIEVE INQUIRES SENT THROUGH PETFINDER, PLEASE EMAIL US DIRECTLY. All of our animals are in foster homes. EMERGENCY: Espresso Needs a Safe Place to Heal and Be Loved Foster or Adopter Needed Immediately in Puerto Rico, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania! We’re sharing Espresso’s after videos — but have a beautiful before one that we can share with you (this system only allows us to upload one video). See the pain he’s endured… and the light that still shines in his eyes. Maybe it will reach the heart that can save him. This sweet, one-year-old puppy was abandoned on the streets, left to survive alone. Then, his worst nightmare came true — he was hit by a car. The injuries were so severe, he lost a leg. But despite everything, Expresso is doing amazing. He’s healing, learning to walk again, and still wags his tail at anyone who shows him kindness. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, and medically cleared (negative fecal and 4DX). The only thing he’s missing… is a home. Right now, he’s in temporary medical boarding — but that will end soon, and he has no place to go. We cannot let this loving, vulnerable boy be put back on the dangerous streets where he was nearly killed. As a tripod, he’s even more at risk from other dogs and unsafe conditions. Please — open your heart and your home. Foster, adopt, or help us spread the word. Expresso has already lost so much. Don’t let him lose his chance at the love he’s never had. If you feel that ESPRESSO is a good fit for you/your family, please complete an application from our site, miraclesforsatosrescue.org FOR IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION! Applications must be complete and considered. https://www.miraclesforsatosrescue.org/adoption-foster-application Please then email the application back to us at miraclesforsatosrescue@gmail.com ------------------------------------------- PLEASE READ: This dog is currently located in Puerto Rico. Once an adopter is approved, we transport to New York/New Jersey! We adopt out of state as long as you are ok with picking up your dog in NY/NJ. We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. We ask that you make sure if interested in a puppy or high energy breed that you are ready for this time consuming/ daily endeavor and have patience as this is a long term commitment (could be 15+ years). Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it need for fulfillment. We recommend puppies receive 5 half hour walks (bare minimum) daily. Your ongoing time and day to day commitment is the most important thing is caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee the breed of any dog or expected adult size of puppy. Please also note that any dog that is "house trained" will still need patience in a new home, new people and new schedule. Please be ready to house train ANY dog you adopt!
