Story
Meet Zuri! Our beautiful little girl that is mixed with all sorts of gorgeous dog elements that include most probably Border Collie/Husky mix.  This crystal blue eyed girl has waited a long time to have her chance to be offered for adoption.  You see she was part of a cruelty case back in October and was severely malnourished and was pregnant with babies.  All her pretty babies have been adopted but poor Zuri was left behind.  She was taken from the small TN shelter last month to decompress and learn some home/family life.  She is ready now for a wonderful new family to call her own .  This girl is a mature and settled 3-4 years old, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, HW- and ready for the good life with a family that will love and cherish her forever. Her beautiful blue eyes and open personality will make you love her instantly.  This girl loves to run and play in the yard with other dogs and absolutely loves the water! She does good as your passenger in the car for pup cup runs and would do good in a home with older, dog savvy children that are 10 years and above. She is still learning not to pull on her leash and is doing very good at her sit command. Zuri just wants her chance to prove that she’s a great family member and cuddle up with you at night!  If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained, pretty girl that deserves the best life from her on out…please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 18, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Our handsome young small Lab mix boy named Finnick is the sweetest and most adaptable dog you could ever adopt.  He like a miniature Lab that is only 35 pounds and was born in around August of 2023.  This dog is in a foster home with two other dogs, 3 cats and two empty nester adults. His foster mom calls him “AMAZING”. Despite having had not so great start in life, he’s a well-adjusted, trusting, and loving soul.  He just wants to bond with the people he lives with and we have promised that we will search high and low for a truly wonderful family or person to make him a part of their life. This guy called “Finn” for short, is cuddly to the max and wants to be held and snuggled.  He’s smart as a whip and training is a breeze because his sole aim is to please his person.  You don’t need training treats, just give him positive attention and he’s at your command. He has a great nose too and can find whatever might be hidden, be it moles in the soil or crumbs under the fridge. When meeting new people, he’s cool and calm and a little bit introverted but never shows the least bit of aggression and is quick to warm up and become  friends after just a few minutes. Give it a little more time and shower him with pets and praise and then you’ve got a true blue buddy for life. He spent an evening with a human toddler and was soon buds by the end of the evening.  With his easy-going temperament, quick trainability, and loving nature he could easily become a therapy or service dog.  He looks like a small version (35lbs) of a black lab with a white chest blaze. A mini-lab . . . what could ever top that for a perfect canine companion? If you are interested in this loveable boy then contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 18, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Luna is a beautiful young Lab mix girl who has endured a very unstable start to her life that has left her shy and unsure of herself at just 5-6 months of age.  This 25 pound girl is precious in body and soul and craves a confident hand to show her how to enjoy the world around her with joy and delight.   She is so pretty and actually her ears stand up when she is not being shy for the camera.  This sweet girl lived in a single bedroom of a disabled man for months and finally Critter Cavalry Rescue was able to secure a foster home for her to leave and get the great foster home that could work with her to build her self-esteem.  She rides well in a car and walks nicely on a leash.  She is wonderful with cats, other dogs and shyly accepts attention from strangers.   She will be a new girl in a short time of living with a competent and capable foster mom and family.   She would be wonderful with children too!  We envision this girl going to live with someone that has another confident, mature dog and who can take her on walking adventures and playful times in a fenced backyard.  Luna will be a top weight of 45 pounds when fully grown.   She has all the good stuff in her heart and soul and personality to be one of the move loving dogs you could ever adopt into your home.  If you are interested please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 18, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Nina is a little girl who was born around Mid-May and the family who had their dog give birth, moved away from their country rental and left 10 puppies behind with no plan for food or water…..just an outdoor pen.  After several months of a neighbor feeding them, Critter Cavalry Rescue was called in to help take them from the pen and give them a chance to find homes.  This girl survived months of abandonment and starvation and has emerged with a few social hesitancies and insecurities, yet a smart mind and loving soul.  She is crate trained, housebroken, wonderful with children that are young, other dogs and also cats.  She is a champ when it comes to being there for you but socially skittish when there are loud noises, sudden movements from outside and thunderstorms.  Nina is coming in to a place that she is showing confidence and not scared of certain things.  She will get there soon, but will need someone that doesn’t require her to be perfect.  She truly is perfect in so many ways despite her really challenging early months as a litter that was abandoned.  Nine is a lab/Pit mix that is beautiful and 44 pounds and a full weight as an adult.   She is very sweet and loving and good with children,  dogs, but NO CATS…..she loves to chase.    She is housebroken and she is crate trained and is a true outdoor girl. She loves to sunbath on the back patio and she welcomes the opportunity to meet new people.  She is pretty good on a leash and good on car rides and great recall that usually works for her.  She is a companion puppy.  She is a Lab/Pit mix and has the heart and soul of a Golden Retriever.   If you are interested in giving this homeless girl a new life and family, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 18, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Are you looking for a sweetheart of a young dog?  An older puppy that is not quite 5 months old and who is very easy to have around and more than special to love.   Meet Tenderhearted Thelma, a Black Lab mix girl that was found with her sister, Louise, running down the side of the road in the country on a busy  highway.  Obviously someone had dumped these special girls and allowed them to find their innocent way in this world…and death by a car was just a few minutes away.  A wonderful rescue foster mom for Critter Cavalry Rescue saw what was happening and stopped her and gathered the two precious girls to remove them from harm’s way.  As you can see from her posture, Thelma is very submissive and not quite so sure of herself.  She is on a small farm with all sorts of animals; horses, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, newborn puppies, and fitting in easily and with submissive posturing.  We want a family to take this girl who will grow to be 50 pounds, and mold her, build her confidence and love her to the moon and back.   She is learning about life and we want a family to teach her all the good things that a well mannered dog needs to know how to do.  If you are a teacher, a lover of dogs and a patient person who will let her bloom at her own speed, then please write to us about Tenderhearted Thelma.   Critter Cavalry Rescue has her ready to go!!!   Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 18, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Dodger came in as a stray. He was dirty and had two big chain collars almost embedded in his neck. He appeared to have been an outside dog. He is very friendly and has met people of all ages. He does great with other calm friendly dogs but will chase cats. He would prefer a home where someone is home, or he has another dog to play with. Dodger does not like to be alone. Here at the shelter, he made friends with a female dog named Sony and now they play together in one of our outdoor pens. He can climb fences so he would need to be walked on leash or not left outside alone. He is very sweet and loves belly rubs and tennis balls. As you can see he can be dressed up for any occasion. Please email dogs@hitor.org for more info.

Story
My name is Milo Magoo and I am a 3 year old Golden Doodle with a birthday that is coming in the next few days… to turn 3 yrs. old.  I weigh 80 pounds and I am looking for an attentive and dog training family that will really shape and polish me to be the spectacular dog that I have the potential to be.  My current family really has no time to work with me to shape me in to a dog with great manners and emotional control.   I am bored in this home and I need physical and mental stimulation and fun challenges to do.  I am very happy, sweet, and very active with running and playing.  I am a male that is ALL BOY and if I had my wish I would say to adopt me if you have a girl dog in the family.   I would love to have a girlfriend for life!  When I am bored my favorite, yet dangerous, thing to do is eat socks.  So please watch that if you take me home.  It is totally out of boredom.   Critter Cavalry Rescue is tryng to change all this by placing me in the right home that they will review closely.   I am a silver tawny coloring and people just ohhhhh and ahhhhh over the color of my coat of  hair.  If you would like to adopt me please email right away at ccrnewengland@gmail.com Mention in the email where you live!!!   That helps so much too.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 18, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
This is Cooper. He and his sweet sister, Katie have been tossed around from rescue to rescue and living in kennels for over a year! First springer rescue got them and left them in a kennel for months before deciding they weren't springers and then someone else stepped up but they stayed in a kennel again. We have had them now and are working with them. They are so sweet and happy! Cooper walks well on a leash and is pretty close to house trained. He is neutered, UTD on all vaccines and is HW neg. We are so desperate to find these babies a loving home to live out their lives in that we are cutting the adoption fee in half but they must stay together. Please consider them! You will not regret it. Please email omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our info and application. They are used to being outside a lot so a fenced yard is a requirement.
