Story
🐾 Meet Thor! 🐾
Thor is an approximately 11-month-old, 30-pound Lab mix with a huge heart, a goofy personality, and enough puppy energy to keep you smiling all day long. We expect him to stay a petite guy, likely around 35 pounds fully grown.
Thor and his five siblings — Wanda, Peggy, Black Widow, Nebula, and Hulk — were found at a construction site in South Texas along the Mexico border. They were among multiple dogs living in heartbreaking conditions: hungry, exhausted, and looking completely defeated.
Thankfully, their story changed. All six puppies, along with several other dogs, were rescued and brought to a safe sanctuary, where they have been thriving since March 2026. After months of growing, learning, and discovering what it feels like to be safe, Thor is more than ready for the next chapter of his life: a forever home of his own.
And what a fun dog he is!
Thor is sweet, confident, goofy, social, playful, and full of puppy energy. He absolutely loves people and will happily greet strangers like they're long-lost friends. He loves pets, belly rubs, attention, and pretty much anything involving his humans. He's also very food motivated, which will be a huge bonus as he continues learning and building his manners.
🎾 Toys are one of Thor's great passions. He especially enjoys taking them apart — and by "taking them apart," we mean ripping out all the cotton until the room looks like it has been hit by a snowstorm. 😂
Thor is also fantastic with other dogs and would love having canine siblings to play with. Even better, he's an adventure dog at heart. An active family who wants a hiking buddy, walking companion, or four-legged partner for outdoor adventures would be right up his alley.
💦 Water? Yes, please! Thor loves getting in the water and doesn't mind getting completely soaked.
🐱 Cats? Absolutely! Thor has done wonderfully with cats and gets along amazingly well with them.
👧 Kids? We think he'd be wonderful. He's a gentle, affectionate boy who loves people and attention.
Thor is crate trained and has already made great progress, but like any young dog, he is still learning. He will need a family committed to consistent, positive training — especially as he continues working on his leash skills and grows into adulthood.
Despite his puppy energy, Thor has a gentle nature. He's a confident, happy little guy who has come so far from the scared and defeated puppy who was first rescued. Now he knows that life can be full of toys, belly rubs, friends, adventures, good food, and love.
Thor isn't looking for a perfect family — he's looking for his family. ❤️
If you're looking for a playful, affectionate, social pup who can keep up on adventures and then happily flop over for belly rubs afterwards, Thor may be your guy.
Thor is ready to trade sanctuary life for a forever home. Could you be his person? 🐾❤️
Thor is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
