Meet Belle! Belle is a sweet 3-year-old girl who came to us from a California shelter and is settling into foster care beautifully. She's a quiet, easygoing little lady who appreciates the simple comforts of life, like a cozy bed, her kennel, a good meal, and fresh water. Belle is doing wonderfully with potty training, with just one little accident on her first day in foster care! She has been pretty chill so far and seems happy to have a safe, comfortable place to relax. Belle hasn't discovered the joy of toys just yet, which can be common in dogs who have had limited opportunities to experience life as a cherished family pet. For some dogs, learning to play, wag their tails freely, and enjoy these simple pleasures can take some time. Belle is still learning what it means to be safe and cared for, and we look forward to watching her confidence grow. Belle still needs to be spayed as part of her rescue care, and we're excited to help her take the next steps toward her forever home. She's looking for a patient, loving family who will let her settle in at her own pace and discover just how special she is. Sometimes the most rewarding thing about rescue is watching a dog discover the joys they never knew they were missing. We can't wait to see Belle's sweet personality shine! Welcome Kiwi to CCPAL Rescue. Kiwi is a 10-week-old Pug mixed pup. She is a beautiful fawn color with a black muzzle. She has an underbite and a shortened nose. She is a smallest-sized pup in the liter. She should be 20 or 25 pounds full grown is our best estimate. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Kiwi is the most outgoing and friendly in the group. She always comes when you call and wants to be picked up. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Kiwi is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Maple's story could have ended very differently. At just 3 years old, this darling little boy found himself in a high-risk shelter in California, but thankfully, his story didn't end there! Now safe in rescue, Maple is showing everyone just how special he is. With the most adorable ears and an incredibly sweet personality, he's impossible not to fall in love with! Maple gets along well with other dogs and sleeps soundly in his crate all night without a peep. He does appreciate a little personal space at mealtime, so feeding him separately allows him to enjoy his meals in peace. Welcome Johnny to CCPAL Rescue. Johnny is a 7-month-old Pug mixed pup. He is a beautiful tan color with a black muzzle. He has an underbite and a shortened nose. He is a bigger-sized boy pup in the liter. He weighs about 15 pounds now and will be a small dog full grown. He has an adorable underbite and is great with other dogs. He is active but not over the top. He has the curly tail like the traditional pug but maybe the curl is less tight. He is a laid-back boy and was easy to take photos with. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Johnny is one of two boys in the litter. He was the last puppy to come out of his kennel as he was enjoying his nap. He was very workable and stood still and sat willingly on the table for the photo shoot. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. Johnny is social and would be a great dog to take to the local coffee shop. He loves all people and is call in loud situations. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. Meet Pugsworth! Pugsworth is a playful, curious, and affectionate boy who loves exploring the world around him-and being right by your side while he does! This energetic little cuddle bug follows his foster everywhere, eager to see what's happening and join in the fun. He's always up for playtime but is just as happy snuggling with his favorite people. Pugsworth finds being alone in a kennel difficult and may howl or cry when separated. However, having another dog nearby helps him settle, so he would likely thrive in a home with a young, friendly canine companion to keep him company and show him the ropes. He does take his potty business outside, but he's still working on his indoor manners and has a habit of marking inside the house. For now, he wears a belly band indoors while he continues learning. Pugsworth is looking for an active, loving home that will enjoy his playful spirit, appreciate his cuddly side, and help him keep making progress. Meet Goofy! Goofy is a 5-year-old sweetheart who may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a little time and you'll discover a lovable boy with plenty of affection to share! Goofy absolutely loves other dogs and finds comfort and confidence in having canine friends around. He enjoys playing with his pack, chasing balls, and hunting down toys that squeak. His favorite things? Belly rubs, playtime, and snuggling with his doggy buddies! He's also making himself right at home with his foster family. On his first night, he slept at the foot of the bed, but it didn't take long for him to work his way up to the head of the bed and snuggle in with all the other dogs. We'd say he's figured out the best sleeping arrangements! Goofy does have hip dysplasia, but he hasn't let that stop him from hopping on and off the couch. His forever family should be mindful of his joint health and work with their veterinarian to help keep him comfortable. Goofy would love a home with another friendly dog (or a few!) to help him feel secure and show him the ropes. With a little patience, plenty of belly rubs, and a squeaky toy or two, this sweet boy is sure to make himself right at home.
