Story
Harold is a really fun and sweet boy with some bad habits. At baseline, he is a complete love. However it does seem like his past wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, and he has some behaviors we are working through. And honestly? Harold is SUCH a friendly boy. He likes people, does great with other dogs, and genuinely wants to be social and connected. Theres a really happy, sweet dog in there. But its also become clear that touch was not always something Harold knew as kind or safe. Because of that, he has triggersespecially around his neckand when he feels uncomfortable, hell growl, lunge, or try to create space. Not because hes mean, but because at some point in his life, he learned he needed to protect himself. The good news? That life is behind him now. Harold is in a trainer foster home where hes working on trust, desensitization, and learning that affection and touch can be safe. Its going to take patience, time, and the right adoptersomeone experienced or excited to work alongside a trainer and willing to meet him where hes at. Because of his triggers, well also be looking for a home with kids 13+. Sometimes rescue is more than medical care. Sometimes rescue means helping a dog learn that the world can be safe againand making sure dogs like Harold get that chance, too. While it may be some work, we know Harold is worth it and his love is the best reward. Please visit our website to learn more about this amazing pug and begin the adoption process!

Story
Welcome Kiwi to CCPAL Rescue. Kiwi is a 10-week-old Pug mixed pup. She is a beautiful fawn color with a black muzzle. She has an underbite and a shortened nose. She is a smallest-sized pup in the liter. She should be 20 or 25 pounds full grown is our best estimate. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Kiwi is the most outgoing and friendly in the group. She always comes when you call and wants to be picked up. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Kiwi is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Peanut came to us as an owner surrender last year with pyometra threatening her life. They could not afford the surgery required to save her, so they turned to us. First we said yes to helping Peanut, but then we asked, how can we keep Peanut in her home?We were able to save Peanut's life and keep her in her home at that time. However some things have changed in her family's life and they reached out to Evergreen Pug Rescue for help for a second time. This time they have entrusted us to find her a forever family for her golden retirement era. Peanut is currently in a loving foster home, recovering from her recent dental. Now that she's all polished up and medically cleared, we are searching for her perfect fit! Her foster mom says she is so well behaved. She generally gets along with the other pugs in her home, but can be a little bossy. This sweet girl has had no accidents, as long as she has regular potty breaks. She rarely barks and loves her treats, but is not a beggar! She's a cuddle bug that loves being pet and sleeping with you. Peanut is in good health, likes being outdoors, and going for walks. Story
Meet Ike! At 3 years old, Ike has life figured out: toys are wonderful, people are even better, and there's no such thing as being too close to your humans. This little guy is 100% toy boy and loves having a favorite treasure nearby. While he's not much of a lap dog, he absolutely wants to be with his people. Curled up at your feet is perfect. He's a Category 10 clinger who isn't a fan of being left alone and would thrive in a home where companionship is plentiful. Ike is also funny beyond words. His goofy personality and silly little habits have a way of making everyone around him smile. His future family should know that Ike is not housebroken and will need continued patience and consistency as he learns. He's also not the biggest fan of car rides, but he'll faithfully settle into his car seat and pant his way through the trip. Ike is scheduled for his neuter on June 15, so he won't be ready to head to his forever home until his veterinary care is complete. In the meantime, we're happy to get to know potential adopters who think this toy-loving, people-loving little shadow might be the perfect fit. Story
Santanas rescue story began in Ensenada, Mexico, after a heartbreaking photo surfaced showing this beautiful pug tied up outside on rubble with little protection or care. Determined to help him, The Pug Queen Foundation coordinated transport from Tijuana so Santana could safely make his way to veterinary care and begin his second chance. As part of standard rescue protocol, Santana received extensive veterinary care upon arrival, including testing, vaccinations, neuter surgery, and time to safely decompress and recover. After arriving alongside several other rescued pugs from Tijuana, Santana quickly settled in and absolutely thrived. A previous adopter had hoped to bring Santana home to Montana, and for a long while everyone believed that would be his happily ever after. But due to transport challenges and unexpected life circumstances, those plans ultimately changed. Rather than continue waiting indefinitely, it was decided Santana deserved the opportunity to finally find the loving forever home he has been ready for all along. Now, Santana is making his way to Evergreen Pug Rescue from The Pug Queen Foundation so he can continue his journey toward the loving family he deserves. And truly this boy is just one giant baby at heart. Santana is incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves his people. He gives endless kisses, adores cuddling, and happily snuggles up with both humans and other pugs. Hes playful, social, and thrives around friendly dogs who enjoy running and wrestling alongside him. Hes also very athletic and surprisingly agile. Santana loves to run, play tug-of-war, and would likely thrive in a more active home that enjoys outdoor adventures, walks, or even hiking. Because of his athletic ability, a securely fenced yard and strong safety awareness are extremely important this boy can easily clear a 4-foot fence and may even surprise you beyond that. But underneath the athleticism and playful energy is an incredibly sensitive, loving dog who simply wants affection, connection, and stability. Dont let his size fool you Santana is truly a soft-hearted cuddle bug wrapped up in a bigger pug body. Some veterinary records place Santanas birthdate around 11/7/2023. However, age estimation in rescue dogs especially dogs with unknown histories is never an exact science. Based upon the extensive time spent with Santana by The Pug Queen Foundation, along with his behavior, maturity level, energy, and overall presentation, they strongly believe Santana is closer to 2 years old.
