Story
Shayleen is a very special girl. One of our fosters is sponsoring Shayleen’s full adoption fee.  So Shayleen is ready for her new home.  I'm ready for my New Beginning!  The New Beginnings promo offers half priced adoption fees  to select dogs and cats if adopted between January 1 - January 31st, 2024.   This beauty will always give you the ultimate fangirl welcome when you walk in the door. Shayleen loves her people and always makes sure they get a proper welcome. She’s never met a stranger, so she sees everyone as ‘her people.’  Shayleen loves to go on leisurely walks with her focus on taking in the good sniffs vs. getting in steps. Shayleen loves to sniff; it seems to be one of her favorite pastimes. She likes to bring one of her favorite toys along while she walks. She seems to think that they appreciate the fresh air, too. Her stuffed ball, rubber kong, and baseball are some of her go-to toys. But, if she doesn’t start her walk with a toy, she will usually find one along the way - maybe a stick? And she can’t miss an opportunity to make a friend. She also loves balls and is willing to fetch them, but she only brings the ball back to you in her own time. She loves her exercise but appreciates her downtime as well. Shayleen has a wonderfully balanced approach to life.  Shayleen is 8-years old and about 50 pounds. She’s been learning her manners and is becoming quite the polite lady. She doesn’t mind walking on busier trails or around doggy friends but isn’t interested in living with another dog. She’d prefer a place that she could call her own.  If you’re looking for that special someone, apply to adopt Shayleen.     For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.   http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms   Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.   Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Please ensure you understand those restrictions prior to choosing a dog. We verify rental policies and adhere to any restrictions.           March 27, 2024, 11:13 am

I got Remy from the shelter about 7 months ago. I wanted a friend for my current dog but I am unable to take care of both. She’s really sweet. She loves to cuddle and be pet. She loves anybody she meets. She plays well with other dogs but would rather be an only child.

Story
Dante, a charming pooch, is in search of a loving forever home! We welcomed Dante into our lives when we adopted him from the Life Line Animal Shelter in May 2022. Regrettably, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are no longer able to provide him with the time and attention he deserves. Dante is still in need of some training, and he exhibits reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs. However, don't let that overshadow his wonderful qualities! This cuddly canine has a heart full of love and an unwavering passion for playing fetch. With the right guidance and patience, Dante has the potential to thrive in an environment where he is the center of attention. If you have the time, commitment, and affection to offer Dante a second chance, he will undoubtedly reward you with endless affection and joy. Are you prepared to open your heart and home to this endearing companion? If you're interested in providing Dante with the loving home he truly deserves, please reach out to us!

Story
Kiya is a beautiful and affectionate Rottie mix girl. She is very cuddly and affectionate.  She loves to curl up with you on the couch. For being young, she is very low energy. Her favorite thing is to lay around and just chew on one of her toys or bones. She gets along great with other dogs, but she doesn’t have much interest in playing with them, she would rather just hang out. She does like to play with her foster mom.  She would be fine living with other dogs or as an only dog.   She loves to chase squirrels and chipmunks and chasing tennis balls is her favorite thing to do. She also loves her squeaky toys. She’s easily entertained and very goofy. She is crate trained and house broken. She loves her crate. Her current foster crates her at night and also when she is not at home. She will bark at strangers that are outside the house, but she’s fine once they walk in the door. She loves men and women. She loves to go for walks and sniff everything. She walks well most of the time but pulls at times when she sees a squirrel or chipmunk.  She does well with 2Hounds harness and would do even better with more training.  She loves to sniff and finding all the new smells in the yard and in the neighborhood are one of her favorite things to do. She is obedient and listens most of the time but gets a little hard of hearing if you’re calling her and she’s sniffing out a chipmunk in the yard.   She does well in a fenced yard, but if there are gaps, she will squeeze through one. She always comes back, but she needs a secure fence so that she doesn’t get out. She has shown resource guarding with her food and the other dogs in her foster home. She has growled and barked at them when they came near her food. For this reason, her foster feeds her in her kennel. Kiya is fine with this. We don’t know how she would be with resource guarding with humans, because her foster has never tried it. Her foster is able to put her food bowl in her crate and close the door with her in it at meal time.  She is easily distracted when you has something she’s guarding.  You can throw her tennis ball and she’ll chase it and leave what she is guarding. She takes treats gently. Because she resource guards, we are not going to place her in a home with small children. She would do wonderfully in a home with adults and teens.  She loves people.  She is the perfect low-key dog. Age: 1.5 years  Weight: 55 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines Temperament: good with bigger kids and other dogs but must feed separately.  Training: House trained, crate trained.   For questions, please email aimiablepetcare@aol.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.March 27, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
Are you looking for a fur baby that loves to play but can also be calm and cuddly when the situation calls for it? Well look no further than Betty! This sweet girl is one of our longest residents and came to the Forsyth County Pet Resource Center back in October of 2022 and is more than ready to find her forever family. Betty is one of the most intelligent dogs currently at the shelter and LOVES learning new tricks. Her ideal day would include napping on a comfy dog bed, playing a game of tug or fetch with her person, and maybe some couch cuddles. Additionally, Betty is not destructive and is completely housetrained, couple that with her calm demeanor and it makes her the perfect addition to any home!Additional Adoption Information:Dog Testing: She gets along with other dogs for a little bit, but quickly gets tired of them so we are recommending a single dog home for Betty.Cat Testing: No cats.Kids: We have not seen Betty interact with children yet so we do not have a recommendation at this time.Housetraining Comments: Fully housetrained.Special Needs: None.

Story
We adopted Hoosier when he was 12 weeks old, he is now 7. We rescued him from the humane society before we got married. He was our pride and joy for many, many years. Recently we have had 2 kids in 1 year and our lives have changed dramatically. This decision has been a very very hard one but we are unable to give him the life he deserves. Our bandwidth is maxed out with 2 babies and both working fulltime. He is trained off-leash, fully potty trained, great with people and kids, and good with most dogs. He loves to go on walks and cuddle. He has a very happy and loving demeanor. He is a great dog. We are looking for a young couple or individual who works from home and does not have kids to adopt our boy. He is great with kids but we feel he needs more attention than a family with kids can give him. He needs a good amount of attention and exercise. He can get a stir-crazy if left unattained for long periods of time, at this time we do not crate him.

Story
Jackson is a handsome 6-year-old boy and weighs 80-ish lbs. Because he is a larger love bug who doesn't know his size, he would do best in a home with teenage children. Although Jackson is deaf, he is VERY trainable and has responded well to learning hand signals with his foster mom. He has laser focus whenever his toys or treats are involved. He is very snuggly-and likes to think he's a lap dog, despite his size! Jackson is potty trained, neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.
