Berne, means 'bear-like' and this boy is so cute and has the waddle of a bear! As cute as he was we noticed something else was going on with this boy besides being a tail-less wonder. His back end seemed smooshed. We got him checked out, after x-rays and evaluation he has a compressed spine. This is common in some breeds. We don't know his breed but it will be something he has forever. He is not in pain and still acts like a normal puppy. As he gets a little bigger, we will see if there are any remedies or treatments that might help him but we do suspect he will live a happy life and would be an awesome addition to any family. He may need to be in household with older kids so he doesn't get knocked around. He is potty trained. He is doing great with crate and leash training. He loves tug of war, bully sticks and pestering his older foster siblings. He has spurts of energy a couple times a day, doesn't last long and otherwise very chill! Vet suspects he will get to 30 pounds. This sweet boy was found as a stray in a park. Hiya! My name is Callie and I am a 4-year-old Aussie/Lab mix. I've got lots going for me and can't wait to find a family I can adore fur-ever!! My foster momma is doing a great job loving me and I'll make.a fabulous addition to my new family!! I cam to the shelter after I'd been found laying in the street after getting struck by a car. Fortunately, I wasn't injured too severely and after a couple weeks to recoup, I've been good as new! My foster momma says I am laid back, happy and friendly. I love air conditioning, puppies, and treats. I am house and crate trained to boot! I am a little selective with my female adult doggie friends but so far, I haven't met a puppy or male dog I haven't liked. Oh... maybe I should tell you one last thing about me. The reason I probably got hit by a car is that I didn't know it was coming. My eyesight works great but my hearing doesn't I am deaf and since I didn't hear the car coming from behind me, I wasn't able to get out of the way in time. I have not been officially cat tested, but enjoy barking at and pulling on the leash to chase the cats I see on my daily walks. Being that I am still a puppy at a year old and 40 pounds, I will do best with kids over 10, although I do fine with tiny humans as young as a year old for short periods of time. The Big Rig has come to North Texas (Dallas area)! The Mack truck of puppies, the wriggliest of them all, Wrigley! Coming in at a whopping 65lb plus, this neutered pup isn't even a year yet and is not for the faint of heart! This sweet boy has a big playful personality and loves to throw his weight around. Mr. Rig is looking for a forever family/person that can keep up with his energy, both physically and mentally! He would love some kids or younger/larger dogs to play with as he loves to roll around and wrestle. He is actually pretty malleable with people and dogs and will happily flomp over for belly rubs! Have a pool or like to visit the lake? We believe Mr. Wrig will take to water like a duck and thoroughly enjoy some summertime swimming! Wrigley will need an experienced family that knows how to stay consistent with obedience to really thrive.
