Story
Meet Magellan! He had been living on the street for a few months when someone asked if we could take him in. He’s sooooo happy and bouncy! He weighs 51 pounds and is about a year old, still a baby with sparkling white teeth! He is GREAT with the other dogs in the yard and so he is able to run free with the front yard pack. He has a chill disposition and isn’t dominant with the other dogs. Believe it or not, sometimes street dogs can be more well adjusted than a dog that is owner surrendered! He’s probably even good with cats, we can always cat test any dog! Magellan loves to play! He would be a great addition to any home!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 15, 2024, 8:43 pm

Story
Meet a timid lady Jinhee🩷 Jinhee was abandoned by a foreign worker. She used to hide in fear just from the sight of people’s hands. Even though she was facing the risk of euthanasia since she wasn’t used to being around humans, she's getting better now thanks to her foster family. Thanks to her foster who was understanding and patient for Jinhee, she now plays with people she trusts! Her days are being filled with more and more compliments. If you understand and wait for her, you will be able to see Jinhee’s ever growing love! ✨You need to approach her carefully because she can be surprised or uncomfortable with people who scream, or makes large gestures or actions. 💟 Personality / Characteristics * Keywords: #Charming #Timid #Mildtempered * Energy Level (1~10): Level 4 *Can be uncomfortable at doggy friends who actively and boldly come at her, but Jinhee can greet doggy friends coming slowly with a good manner! *Doesn’t particularly react to cats during her walking session. *Prefers a person who moves slowly and quietly than a person with a loud voice and moves too boldly!💗 *Jinhee who can be a calm girl even when she is playing with her foster can be more outgoing too! When her foster tosses the stuffed toy, she brings it to the foster and enjoys playing the tug play. *Can be uncomfortable when someone comes at her too actively and boldly.😭 Doesn’t like high-pitched, loud sounds. *Prefers walking with her foster and enjoying the surroundings than actively playing and running around with doggy friends. *Mostly rests during the daytime and becomes more active and plays in nighttime.❤️ *Can briefly bark on the sound of the door knock but doesn’t bark most of the time. *Doesn’t prefer bathing but she can patiently tolerate it. *No carsickness. *Tends to shed slightly but sheds more during shedding season! Jinhee favors her foster to brush her hair and getting cuddled and really loves her hair to be brushed more and often! *Mastered “Sit”, “Fighting”, “Kissing her foster”! *Jinhee’s favorites: Her foster and dog Churu snack. 💙 Foster account 👉🏻 @adogs_jinhee

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Fury! He is a 9-year-old, 55 lb Blue Merle AKC registered Australian Shepherd who was surrendered to us as his owner could no longer care for him. Fury loves to be petted, pampered and groomed. He likes to play by himself with soccer balls and plushie toys, he tosses then around and chases them independently. He loves to lounge in the sunshine. Fury would like to find himself his very own retirement home where he can be an only dog with his own securely fenced yard to relax in during the day, and a cozy kennel at night. He would do best in a home where he can be the only pet. He walks well on a leash for the most part but can be leash reactive and he does not care for other male dogs or dogs who get in his face on leash. He will lunge at cars that pass by as his herding breed instinct takes over. For this reason, he would do best in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood. He’s been gentle with the young child in his previous home under supervision but nips at the butts of anyone who runs next to him so it is recommended that he goes to an adult only home or with children over 12. When feeding time comes around, he acts as if he is going to be food aggressive/possessive by growling and sounding scary but is really just a marshmallow with no follow through. Fury is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $350.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Tacoma, WA Meet Ray! He is a 7 year old Miniature American Shepherd and weighs 25 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Ray is hostile with strangers, but is sweet once he has finally warmed up to you. He is good with cats! No kids or dogs, due to his reactivity! He needs seasonal allergy shots for his itchy paws. Ray nipped a neighbor around 1.5 years ago while on a leash. They were trying to do an introduction and the neighbor knew Ray was reactive, but was willing to meet him. The owner and her partner took him in after he nipped the partner’s brother’s baby. His fear reactivity causes him to lunge and snarl at strangers and dogs as they walk by. The owners have muzzled him and worked with a trainer, but it hasn’t helped completely. They are surrendering him because he needs a better environment and further training. If you think you can provide a great home for Ray, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Ray. Owner’s Contact Information: Ana Schmidt at (253) 203-4241 or anaschmidt1@hotmail.com.
