Story
Meet Magellan! He had been living on the street for a few months when someone asked if we could take him in. He’s sooooo happy and bouncy! He weighs 51 pounds and is about a year old, still a baby with sparkling white teeth! He is GREAT with the other dogs in the yard, but plays a little too rough for smaller dogs. He has a chill disposition and isn’t dominant with the other dogs. Magellan is super smart and did great during his brief time in a temporary home. He learned sit and down quickly, and he does well in his crate. He loves to cuddle. Magellan loves to play! He would be a great addition to any home!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 26, 2024, 4:53 am

Story
Meet Pax! He is a sweet, very well-trained handsome 3.5 yo Australian shepherd with a strong herding drive. He has great recall and enjoys pleasing his owner. He loves his people and makes the cutest noises when cuddled. He is very expressive when he likes or dislikes something. Pax is tenacious about his boundaries and does not like to be pet by strangers. He does well around other people with a toy to distract him and a safe space that he knows is his. Limitation to new people once in his new home would be helpful to settle in as he takes a while to warm up. We found him to be anxious settling in during the first couple days, but then proudly owning his place. He does very well with a routine and will remind you of the small things- like drying his paws before coming into the house- should you forget the habits you introduced. He does great in the dog park and on trailruns and walks staying close-by but playing with other dogs. He does not like fast moving noisy things.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Latte - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Latte: A milder, sweeter and creamy blend of your daily dose of caffeine! Hey there, I'm Latte - a youngish year old 67lb pup who loves to play and make new friends! People often say I'm quite the character, and I have plenty of unique traits that make me who I am. For instance, I'm a total treat connoisseur and will do anything for a snack. I'm also a friendly, playful, and smart pup, but I don't know many dog friends yet, so I'll need some help with socialization. If you're looking for an energetic and fun companion, then look no further! My ideal home would be one where I can get lots of exercise and attention, especially if we have some treats along the way. Just one thing - I tend to gravitate towards people who are just as unique and playful as I am. If you're active and love being a snack connoisseur as much as I do, I'm sure we'll become the best of pals in no time! What better way to spend the day then an adventure followed by bingeing on snacks as we cuddle on the couch!! If you're searching for a fur-iend to share in your adventurous life style, then I'm your boy!!

Story
Meet a timid lady Jinhee🩷 Jinhee was abandoned by a foreign worker. She used to hide in fear just from the sight of people’s hands. Even though she was facing the risk of euthanasia since she wasn’t used to being around humans, she's getting better now thanks to her foster family. Thanks to her foster who was understanding and patient for Jinhee, she now plays with people she trusts! Her days are being filled with more and more compliments. If you understand and wait for her, you will be able to see Jinhee’s ever growing love! ✨You need to approach her carefully because she can be surprised or uncomfortable with people who scream, or makes large gestures or actions. 💟 Personality / Characteristics * Keywords: #Charming #Timid #Mildtempered * Energy Level (1~10): Level 4 *Can be uncomfortable at doggy friends who actively and boldly come at her, but Jinhee can greet doggy friends coming slowly with a good manner! *Doesn’t particularly react to cats during her walking session. *Prefers a person who moves slowly and quietly than a person with a loud voice and moves too boldly!💗 *Jinhee who can be a calm girl even when she is playing with her foster can be more outgoing too! When her foster tosses the stuffed toy, she brings it to the foster and enjoys playing the tug play. *Can be uncomfortable when someone comes at her too actively and boldly.😭 Doesn’t like high-pitched, loud sounds. *Prefers walking with her foster and enjoying the surroundings than actively playing and running around with doggy friends. *Mostly rests during the daytime and becomes more active and plays in nighttime.❤️ *Can briefly bark on the sound of the door knock but doesn’t bark most of the time. *Doesn’t prefer bathing but she can patiently tolerate it. *No carsickness. *Tends to shed slightly but sheds more during shedding season! Jinhee favors her foster to brush her hair and getting cuddled and really loves her hair to be brushed more and often! *Mastered “Sit”, “Fighting”, “Kissing her foster”! *Jinhee’s favorites: Her foster and dog Churu snack. 💙 Foster account 👉🏻 @adogs_jinhee

Story
Meet Gyumi💗💗 * Interaction with people: Is shy and reserved. He smells people passing by and shows curiosity, but finds it awkward when they come close. He is not used to his foster family's touching yet, and hides in the corner when you try to touch him, but stays still if you actually touch him, and even follows if you go somewhere else. When he gets used to it, he opens himself up and eats snacks if you give him some. * Interaction with dogs: Is not comfortable with other dogs. Is scared of dogs who bark and run at him. With slowly-approaching dogs, he smells them face-to-face but soon turns away. * Interaction with cats: He shows uneasiness and wariness around cats, even during walks, where he tends to keep his distance. * Separate Anxiety : He spends time alone well. Sometimes, he lies down looking at the door, but soon goes to the bed and falls asleep! Wags his tail and welcomes you when you come back home. * Potty Training : Prefers100% outdoor potty! * Hygienic : He's still learning to become comfortable with bathing, grooming, and teeth brushing, but he tolerates them without mouthing. Gets scared and tries to run away at the sound of dryers, but so towel or fan (dryers very shortly if needed) is used to dry tim. * Walking : Walks in step with the walker and enjoys taking a walk! He's a bit afraid of the leash but waits patiently until it's put on. Is scared of cars or motorcycles. Prefers walking near the bush or where there are no people. * Car Sickness : Is okay with riding a car, and stays well in the car seat. May vomit on winding roads. 💌Special Notes💌 * Gyumi is getting used to his malformed bones after suffering a long-time fracture to his shoulder and back. As he has no issues in walking, the vet's opinion is that surgery is unnecessary. * He can take easy walks, but running or intense exercise is not allowed. * Mastered “sit” and has a big potential of learning other skills once he gets used to physical contact with people! 💟Health Status💟 * Neutered * Others: Microchipped, Completed heartworm treatment. * Even though having a dislocated left shoulder and shattered&stiffened right shoulder, he has no problem walking. However, it may hurt for him if he moves vigorously, so close observation is needed. * Has vision in his right eye but his left eye is blind. His fur is currently shaved off because his skin was not healthy. He scratches a bit, but it's getting much better and his dead skin cells are unseen now unlike before.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.
