Story

Jorah is an Australian Shepherd, roughly 40 pounds. Jorah is a very sweet boy with A LOT of anxiety. I got Jorah when he was a puppy and have done extensive training with him to help with his anxiety since he can be very reactive. He requires very slow and intentional introductions to new people and can be reactive towards other dogs. Jorah does well with routine, structure, and does great with training. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to care for Jorah in the way he needs and truly deserves. I was attacked by a friend's dog in 2024 and it was an incredibly traumatic experience for me, so much that it has impacted my ability to feel comfortable with Jorah. Since 2024, I have since separated from my husband and I am now the only adult in my home to care for Jorah. I am also a single mother to a four year old, so I am extremely limited in my current capacity. I would love for Jorah to have a home where someone has the patience and love to give him exercise and consistency.

He’s a big, sweet, teddy-bear of a dog with a beautiful coat and looking to be someone’s next adventure buddy! This handsome boy is smart, treat-motivated, and very active. He’ll need an adopter with herding-breed/large dog experience who’s excited to work with him mentally and physically. Stetson enjoys training, loves being with his people, and would thrive in a home that offers daily exercise, structure, and continued training! Stetson does well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine sibling, but he could also do well as an only dog as long as his adopters commit to continued socialization. He’s strong and fast, and while he walks well on leash most of the time, he can pull when excited. He can also be mouthy and jump up when overstimulated, so a home with no small children is recommended — dog-savvy kids 12+ could possibly be okay. When he’s not on the move, Stetson loves rolling around in the grass, soaking up attention, and just being close to his people.
