***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter is willing to pay the fees & charges we will accept PayPal.
What these sweet souls see, hear & endure is incomprehensible.
Bella was part of a breeder dumping dogs. He actually wanted Bella & many others gone immediately in Indiana but was willing to work with us. We have to move fast because unfortunately in these situations, when they want them gone, there is no messing around for their health & safety. Being breeding dogs they are money making machines only & their time had come to an end with this breeder. Beautiful Bella & her other 9 friends were living outside all day & night in cages. Once we knew about them, there was no way we were leaving them there. We organized to rescue all of them & our wonderful team drove & picked up everyone. Of course the were all so filthy & stinking so badly & some were matted to the skin & needing grooming immediately & medical care. He did not care & just wanted them gone. Rescuing the breeding dogs is an extremely expensive situation each time & it involves a lot of expenses in transportation & so much medical.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Bella how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home & her other friends.
Bella was bought back to WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever family.
Beautiful & gentle Bella. She is such a sweetheart even though humans have been so bitterly cruel to her. Her world changed within hours of a phone call & a car ride along with her friends. No more living outside for this girl in a cage. When she arrived she had urine stained fur & we have been working on trying to get remove that from her fur. We see this all the time with the dogs in cages sitting in their own filth & it takes so long to remove the urine stains that have built up.
We ended up finding Bella a home immediately after coming to WA but after 2 months in her new home she was returned. We were told that she played originally non stop at first with her new brother & was doing so well in her new home. But then she started to not want to come back inside when it was time to come inside we were told. He also thought she was not fond of him. The new dad would have a hard time bringing her in & could not get her to come inside he said, so he returned her.
Her previous foster home she did so good considering everything was new to her & they did not have a problem with her coming inside. She also loved her foster siblings.
She adored having a comfy bed & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. Nor toys, love, her own bed. All the things she should of experienced. She slept & slept in her foster home in WA as if she had never slept before.
In her previous foster home, she loves to be loved, held & cuddled. She has met several new people & been very social with everyone she meets.
Her foster mum in CO said she was such a sweetheart with them. Her previous foster mum & dad in WA also said she was so very sweet & lovely with them too.
Bella is a wonderful eater.
She would still need work walking on her harness & leash as it’s all completely new to her as she was never taught until we rescued her. But she has done well considering. She will chew her harness off if it’s left on her so it should always be removed from her.
This girl has been so good with all different breeds of dogs & has not met a dog she doesn’t like. We have tested Bella in a daycare environment & she has done well with both men & woman. Unfortunately because of her being returned to the rescue we have had to pay to put her into a daycare.
Bella’s new forever home must have a fully fenced backyard. She adores going outside & having a run & play & the freedom to enjoy being outside.
Bella rides beautifully in the car & is good with being bathed. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Bella as you can imagine spent the beginning of her life outside in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Bella where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them.
Bella is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her.
Bella has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in her foster homes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for her to go to a forever home with another dog present.
Bella’s forever home must have a fully fenced backyard, this is mandatory.
Bella is roughly 27.2 lbs, she is 2 years old & a mini Australian shepherd, but what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she had a dental scale & polish. She is microchipped, she is up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed several times.
We have spent far more on Bella with paying for her to get away from a breeder in Indiana to get her out with bringing her to WA with her boarding costs, transport costs, her medical care in WA, getting her spayed by laser, now boarding her in WA etc than her adoption fee even comes close to covering.
Bella has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
We were not there when Bella was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Bella’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Bella potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Bella & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Bella who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Bella has an adoption fee of $1550 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
