Story
Animal Information: Max is an almost 7 month old Australian Shepherd mix puppy currently. Max was confiscated after being found with multiple broken ribs from a suspected animal abuse case. Even with this rough start, Max appears to be a pretty normal puppy. He is a bit scared of loud noises. We are so happy to be bringing Max to the Seattle area in search of his forever family. Foster Profile:  Max has been part of our family for the past four months, and he has been an absolute joy to foster. He's the kind of dog who settles in quickly, loves his people, and would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. We welcomed Max when he was about 3 months old, and he immediately became a full member of our two-dog household. He gets along wonderfully with our resident dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. Like any young pup, Max is curious and enjoys exploring, but he also has an easygoing personality that makes him a pleasure to have around. For such a young dog, Max has excellent house manners. He is fully potty trained and hasn't had a single accident in the house in over five months. He's comfortable in his crate and can happily relax for a few hours with a favorite bone while you're away. Max walks nicely on leash, has good recall, and naturally likes to stay close to his people. While he still has playful puppy moments, he's surprisingly calm and enjoys spending much of the day relaxing. A daily walk and some playtime seem to suit him just fine—he doesn't appear to be a dog who needs endless exercise to be happy. One of our favorite things about Max is his affectionate morning routine. He loves to wake us up with sweet puppy kisses, and while we enjoy our morning coffee, he'll happily curl up beside us, soaking up all the pets and snuggles he can get. It's the perfect way to start the day and a wonderful glimpse into what a loving companion he is. Max has that rare "off switch" everyone hopes for in a young dog, he enjoys his playtime but is just as happy to settle in and relax with his family. We think Max would thrive with a family or a single adopter looking for a loyal, easygoing companion. He would do well in a home with teenage children and would likely fit in with other friendly dogs, as he's done so well with ours. Max is truly a special pup with a wonderful balance of playful, affectionate, and relaxed. He's the kind of dog who will happily join you on a walk, then come home and spend the afternoon by your side. We can't wait for him to find the loving forever home he deserves. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter (on contract, if applicable), core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from San Bernadino Animal Control, in partnership with ARF our rescue partner in San Bernadino, CA. He was transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 2/5/2026 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 20, 2026, 9:49 am

Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet this fluffy boy, Kiko! He is a 7-year-old, 50 LB Australian Shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Kiko is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to be outside exploring. He is active and would love a forever home that will exercise him daily and provide him an active lifestyle. He would also do best in a standalone home with a fenced yard to explore, preferably outside the city. Kiko has done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog in a home. He would also do fine as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention. Kiko is a very strong boy, and will require adopters that are able to handle his strength. He is also incredibly smart and eager to learn, which will make training a blast! Kiko is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FORVER HOME NEEDED Meet Koala! Koala is a 2-year-old, 25 lb Australian Shepherd/Spaniel mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This beautiful girl is sweet, loyal, sensitive, and looking for the right person to build a strong bond with. Koala can be shy when meeting new people and takes a little time to open up, but once she feels safe and comfortable, she becomes affectionate, playful, and deeply devoted to her person. She would love nothing more than to be someone’s loyal little sidekick. She does well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, but in a home environment she can show some resource guarding behaviors surrounding her person. Because of this, Koala is looking for confident, experienced adopters—preferably with rescue dog or working breed experience—who understand boundaries, structure, and behavior management and can continue helping her work through those tendencies in a positive, consistent way. As she settles in and gains confidence, Koala’s playful and energetic personality starts to shine through. She’s smart, observant, and forms strong attachments to the people she trusts most. Koala is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give her the guidance, leadership, and security she needs to thrive. In return, she’ll be an incredibly loyal and loving companion. If you’re experienced with sensitive, intelligent dogs and looking for a devoted little best friend, Koala might just be your perfect match! Koala is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Missy! Missy is an 8-month-old, 26 lb Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter. This sweet girl is looking for a patient family that will help her continue building confidence and give her a life full of adventure! Missy can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, but once she feels safe, she forms deep bonds with her people. She has a playful side that shines once she’s comfortable and absolutely loves spending time with other dogs. Because she’s still gaining confidence, Missy is looking for a quieter home a little outside the hustle and bustle of the city where she can settle in at her own pace. We are looking for a standalone home with a securely fenced yard for her. Missy would love to have another playful, confident, well-adjusted dog in the home to help show her the ropes, continue building her confidence, and be her full-time playmate. She thrives with canine companionship and will benefit greatly from having a positive role model. Missy is smart, eager to learn, and will do best with adopters who are committed to continuing her training, keeping her mentally engaged, and providing plenty of daily exercise and adventures. With the right guidance and structure, she’s going to make an incredible companion. Missy is UTD of vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $550.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Rancher! Rancher is a 7-month-old, 30 lb Australian Shepherd mix puppy who is very bright and has all the potential to become an incredible partner for an active, experienced home. This handsome boy is exactly what you’d expect from a young herding breed—smart, observant, and always ready to learn. Rancher thrives when he has a job to do and loves working alongside his handler. He quickly picks up on new tasks, enjoys learning, and would be an excellent candidate for agility, obedience, trick training, or any activity that keeps both his mind and body engaged. Rancher is active, playful, and well-socialized with other dogs. He loves having canine friends and would thrive in a home with another playful, similarly sized or larger dog to wrestle, learn from, and burn energy with. He also loves the water and is always up for an adventure! Rancher is looking for a very hands-on adopter who understands the needs of working breeds. He’ll do best with someone who is committed to continuing his training, providing daily exercise, and giving him plenty of mental enrichment. He would especially enjoy a home where someone is around much of the time and can dedicate the time and consistency he needs to reach his full potential. Due to his strong natural herding instincts, high prey drive, and hard mouth when it comes to small animals, he is best suited to a home without small pets and children. Rancher is doing well with his house training and is mostly housetrained when given regular opportunities to go outside. Rancher is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $650.
