I adopted Maisie from the Boulder Humane Society in November, 2021. She was 3-4 months old and had been picked up in New Mexico. She was on medication for anxiety and I was told she should be homed with another older dog and kept away from children. I live in a condo with a small deck area and I am very active outdoors so I thought that would be helpful to her anxiety. She exhibited aggressive behavior towards kids, cyclists and runners along trails so I took for to High Drive Training and we did the full training and advanced training and I was trained in how to use and ecollar. We also did Grumpy Growler Training through the Boulder Humane Society. She has gotten aggressive towards other dogs while she is on leash but off leash she is fine. She is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks. When she is near children and they make sudden moves she does get aggressive. I am moving to be near my grand children so I need to rehome her to someone that has a yard and another dog hopefully.

Rocky has lived in Boulder with his people for 10 years, since being adopted as a puppy. Sadly his parents have both gone into care and can no longer look after him. Rocky has up to date vaccinations, loves long walks and swims and is happy in the car. He gets separation anxiety and sometimes nips ankles due to his herding instinct. He gets along with neutered adult dogs but should not be loose around puppies or children. He is in need of an experienced dog owner who will help him lose 15 lbs and enjoy his final years. This puppy is part of a litter that was dropped off at only a few days old at a local municipal shelter. There was an emergency plea put out and some of our wonderful foster parents stepped up to the plate and hand fed these puppies until they were eating on their own. A local donor was curious to the breed and they came back with boxer and border collie. Some of the puppies show the coat of a border collie, while others have the more smooth coat of a boxer. They have been in homes with kids and other dogs, and have had a VERY thorough introduction to life as a pet (including stairs, vacuum cleaners, etc.) Avon has a soft, feathered coat like a border collie. She is smart, playful, and sassy. She enjoys human company but doesn't need guidance 24/7. Avon has an outgoing personality and often is the leader of her littermates (or tries to get them to do her bidding). She would do well in a home with anyone that will keep her moving and thinking and actively engaging with her people, and would thrive with other pets and children. She would love to be a hiking buddy or other exploring partner. Avon has been spayed, is vaccinated for age appropriate vaccines, has been dewormed and given a flea/tick preventative, and is microchipped with registration. She uses puppy pads and is working toward full housetraining with the use of a kennel. Avon would love to join a forever family, and this pup has been really well socialized and has the best kind of foundation to make someone a best four legged friend. Avon is $450 to adopt.
