Story
Lily is a super sweet girl 40# girl with lots of energy.  She is good with other dogs and people and looking for her furever home.  Due to some minor resource guarding, no children under 16.  Lily enjoys chasing a ball and will return for you reliably.   She knows sit, down, heel, place and give paw.  A super smart girl that needs an active and patient home to continue her training, she will get you out and moving !  ##1907387##

Story
Sabrina is an amazing dog who just needs someone willing to work with her. She is amazing with children (just needs work on being too excited around small children but has gotten much better with our fosters 2 year old)  She is most definitely mixed with a working breed - she needs consistent exercise to be a calm house dog and will become destructive if her mind isn’t stimulated. She absolutely loves sniff walks and fetch to wear her out and work her brain.  She will need a more involved owner who understands her needs. She has a lot of allergies and our vet believes her skin issues may just be a chronic life long struggle. She is taking 1/2 an apoquel a day and her foster supplements with calming treats and allergy/immune boost treats daily. We have not done an elimination diet to determine exact allergies, but she is currently eating Rachel Ray Limited Ingredient (Just 6 depending on bag design/store) Lamb flavor and has been doing better!  She still has bald spots and flare ups if the weather is bad or she gets stressed out. We’re working on determining when it happens to try and eliminate the flare ups so her hair can grow back fully. Currently all 4 shoulders have some degree of baldness and occasional bumps from her chewing, but I’ve been keeping sweaters on her and the calming treats to try and get her to leave the area alone long enough for the hair to grow back.  She’s got some unique quirks that make her even more special! She is  described as being cat like - she absolutely loves to be up high looking over everything. When outside, she can be found hopping onto the patio table to look in windows or take a nap. She’s also been caught napping on top of book shelves or any surface big enough to hold her body and she’ll curl up like she’s meant to be there!   She has no fear when it comes to humans, but can be skittish in the house when it comes to switching rooms or entering/exiting like she’s unsure what will come from the other room. She does alright with other dogs in neutral territory, but does resource guard her food, kennel, and occasionally the fosters sun room if she can see the other dogs filtering in and out while she’s hanging out in there. However, she responds incredibly well to correction and is eager to please! With or without treats, she loves to practice new skills and is working incredibly hard to be calm in the house! She still has trouble channeling her energy some days if she hasn’t had enough stimulation, but you can see how hard she tries to maintain composure during training sessions!  She’s a work in progress, but her personality and temperament are perfect for someone looking for a loyal dog that’s willing to do anything from cuddle on the couch to adventure with them!   https://www.pupandcatco.com/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.We do not have a shelter facility and our pets are housed in foster homes, vet clinics and local boarding facilities. Story
Hello! My name is Minnie Lucille McDogglestuff, or Lucy for short. I’m a Border Collie Sheltie Mix of awesome in a pint size 20 lb package. I am THE amazing co-piolot / passenger princess / ride or die you’ve been searching for. I LOVE to travel and I’m SO GOOD at it. I keep my opinions about your terrible driving to myself, don’t get carsick and barf, and I am an expert at hoovering up any left-over crumbs that fall out of your to-go order. Since staying with my foster mom, she’s taken me on road trips to South Carolina, Florida and south Georgia. I received 5 stars on my behaviors chart on all 3 trips. I’m an awesome TriPaw, and while I only have 3 legs, you would never know that I’m not a miniature greyhound sporting a fur coat. I can run FAST and I do everything my 4 legged compadres do. I’m 1 year old, which is 7 in dog years….in case you don’t know dog math. I’m looking for a home where I can be the center of your world, or at minimum a human that makes me believe I am. A dog friend to play with would be a super cool too…okay, pretty much a requirement along with ear scratches. I will also require a fresh organic carrot as my pre-bedtime snack each night. I will eat my low-cal carrot while watching and judging you as you finish off that entire bag of Cheetos just before swimsuit season. You’re probably wondering how I got here…. Last year I was either run over by a monster truck, an 18 wheeler or stepped on by an elephant. Anyway, my previous owner didn’t take me to the vet to get my leg fixed and the break was still broke and all the muscle atrophied. Then, I ended up at the shelter, because, duh, bad humans…. The shelter called up Releashed Rescue who took me in and paid a zillion dollars to the vet to got my leg fixed. Speaking of the zillion dollars, could each of you throw $5 RR’s way to help pay off my vet bill? I’m good with all dogs and cats, and just so you know, I totally hang with the big dogs. My most favorite fur friend ever is my foster brother who’s a 2 yr old 85 lb German Shephard. We play HARD and I believe playtime should be 24/7, however, I do know how to respect my dog elders and the cat and leave them alone. I’m crate trained, know sit and doing really great at this house training thing – I’ve been working really hard on my door bell training. I also prefer to hold the leash myself on walks and lounge in the cart while on shopping adventures. Did I mention that I love to travel? I’m also 20 lbs. Do you know what that means?!?! I can FLY IN THE CABIN WITH YOU! I’ll go get my roller board, you call the Uber, we will be in Key West by sunset! ------------------------------------------------------- TriPaw’s are just like any other dog and after a week or two you will forget they are missing a leg. The most important thing to remember is that you manage TriPaw’s weight and not let them get overweight. They will tire a bit easier than 4 leggers, but can do everything any other dog can do. After a hike of a mile or so, she may need to ride / rest for a bit in a doggie backpack carrier. If you have hardwood floors and stairs, she may need carpet treads (available on amazon) or socks with rubber grippers to help get up once she is much OLDER. Lucy has zero mobility issues now.

Story
Yen is a lovable and independent large puppy. At 14 weeks and 22 pounds he will be a large dog over 60 pounds as an adult. He will need a fenced yard to explore and play and nap in the sun. He has a very easy going personality and is happy to have various dog beds to nap and toys to chew. Yen enjoys watching sports on tv or napping in one’s lap while watching a movie. Yen is a super smart boy that will be easy to train and has great mellow energy for a puppy. Yen is crate trained and is almost potty trained. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
