Story
Boss man has been with me since birth. He was the alpha pup of my parents' family pet, Diamond. Unfortunately, I'm at a point in my life where i need to relocate, but i just am not able to accommodate him on this transition. I've gone back and forth with myself about this decision for about 5 years. i honestly don't want to give him up for adoption but my current situation has forced me to decide. I have run out of time and options. So hopefully. Someone. With the time and the space. We'll be willing to take him in as he is a very seasoned house house dog.

Story
I have had Crane for about a month. At 11 months, he is on the edge between puppy and adult. But one of my dogs has taken a dislike to him and keeps attacking him. For his safety, he needs to be adopted soon. Crane is a lovely boy. He adores people and begs everyone for pets. He also gets along with cats. The only thing he wants out of life is to be with his people, especially in physical contact. I've been taking him to work with me, and the whole way there and back, he curls up in my lap. If I sit on the couch, he wants to sit with me, touching me. He's a Border Collie mix, but I'm not quite sure what the mix is. He does have separation anxiety, but look at it from his point of view. In his first 10 months of life, he has lived in at least 4 different places. In his little world, everyone he loves always leaves. He would do best as an only dog, and I long for him to find a place where the people he loves do not leave.

Story
Kofi joined our family after being found in our neighborhood in August 2025. He is approximately 2–3 years old and is sweet and affectionate with his people. He loves long walks, playtime, and thrives with activity and engagement. Like many dogs who may not have had consistent early socialization, Kofi has challenges that are important to share so he can be matched with the right home. He does not do well with cats and needs continued socialization training. He can pull on leash and may become reactive when seeing other dogs—and sometimes people—as he has grown protective of his family. He is also not always comfortable with house guests. When we travel, Kofi stays at a group dog boarding facility, where staff report he does well overall, with some manageable challenges. Due to having a cat in our home and current health and caregiving demands, we can no longer provide the consistency Kofi needs. We love him deeply and want him to thrive in a home that can meet his needs.

Story
Miss P is a beautiful Border Collie/ Lab mix. She is a middle aged girl, and is ready for her forever family! She is very dog friendly, and has a rough and tumble play style. She has never met a dog that she doesn&#39t like! Miss P is very food motivated and takes treats gently. She&#39s crate trained, house trained, and knows her basic commands. Miss P enjoys hunting for critters in the yard and chewing on her Nyla bones! Miss P would love a forever home with another dog and a fenced yard where she can spend time outside. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet girl, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.November 27, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
Montana is an affectionate 4-year-old Lab/Pit mix who’s ready to be your loyal companion for life. This sweet girl is a fetch fanatic who lives for playtime and loves nothing more than chasing balls with her favorite humans. She’s both treat and toy motivated and ready to learn new tricks. Montana gets along fine with other dogs, but she’s truly a people-focused pup who wants to be your number-one play partner. On a recent Doggie Day Out adventure, she proved to be a calm car passenger and a wonderful trail companion. She enjoys sniffy walks and likes to lead the way without pulling on the leash. Though Montana can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly with patience (and a few tasty treats). Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys gentle petting and cuddle time with her friends. If you can toss a tennis ball, you’re already in her inner circle! Montana was placed on final because shelter life has become overwhelming for her. Repeated encounters with unfamiliar people reaching into her kennel have left her feeling uneasy, and she may growl or show her teeth to ask for space. But outside the kennel, Montana’s true personality shines—sweet, playful, and full of love. Montana will thrive in a calm, patient home that gives her time to decompress and build trus ##2599337##

Story
STABBED BY HIS OWNER, NOW HES ALL ALONE Rescue preferred This is not the life Buster deserves to be living Buster came to the shelter in July after being stabbed by his owner with a sword. He was seen by an offsite vet, his owner was arrested, and he has been here as evidence ever since. His owner’s case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence (unfortunately), and Buster is now FINALLY able to leave the shelter after being cooped up in a kennel for over FIVE MONTHS. We prefer that Buster goes to a rescue, as we do not want Buster to ever have to go back to the person who did this to him— he deserves better. He deserves love. Buster’s story is sad, but please do not bring him into your home unprepared just because his story tugs at your heart. Anyone who takes Buster home needs to be prepared for a long and potentially rocky and frustrating decompression process. Being in a shelter for so long is not easy and takes a toll on a dog’s psyche (and behaviors). He needs space and grace to heal. Currently, Buster’s mind is all over the place so it takes him a bit to connect with people because he is just too overwhelmed. He needs someone who understands that it may not be love at first sight. Someone patient who will not necessarily shower him with love but will give him structure, boundaries, and a safe place to rest his bones. Buster seems to want to be with dogs, but again, he needs to decompress. He lacks manners and shows some dominant behaviors, possibly due to how stressed he is. We cannot say for sure how his opinion of dogs and behaviors toward them will change once he is in a home, but currently he would do best with SLOW intros (decompression!!!!) and a tolerant, friendly dog. ##2619651##
