Story
Meet Bright and beautiful BERT! Bert is a 7+ year old Labrador/Border Collie mix. Bert was rescued with his siblings by Rain City as a puppy in Georgia and transported to the Seattle area. Unfortunately, his adopter is a senior guy in his 80’s and having medical issues. Everyone agrees that finding a new forever home for Bert would be best. Bert is a delightful dog! He is fun and mellow and loves people and other dogs. Unfortunately for Bert his owner has not been able to exercise him and Bert has recently gained quite a few pounds. He currently weighs approximately 70lbs but his weight should be 60-65lbs. Bert is currently being fostered in the Tacoma area and his foster family just loves him. He loves car rides, fetching his ball and his now daily walks. He likes hanging out with his doggie siblings, both big and small. But he’s also fine as an only dog. Bert has been crate-trained, but is great in the house without the crate. He can be left in the house for long periods of time and sleeps through the night on his pet bed with the family. He is totally house-trained and knows his basic commands too. He walks very well on a leash and currently does a several mile walk every day. Bert has more energy than the average chubby 7-year-old lab! His loves attention and is affectionate and lovable. Bert’s new family needs to be committed to his “boot camp” diet and helping him slim down. But that truly is his only issue!! Bert loves older kids, but we’d suggest no toddlers or babies as he’s not been raised with them. Same is true of cats. Bert loves the outdoors and hanging out in his foster’s large yard. He isn’t bothered by the rain and is up for any adventure. He’s social and smart and even knows some tricks. He’d be a good candidate for doggie day care or the dog park but will be more interested ion his ball and people rather than tussling with the other pups. Bert is vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered. For questions, please email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com or to complete an adoption application, please go to: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/N1V88edh02ForIB30gCf2. You really need to meet this charming and super friendly boy, he’ll reward you with love and laughter and companionship galore!

Story
Darling Juniper is approx 4 mo old and already weighs 28lbs. She looks like a short haired border collie so should be about 55-60lbs or so when full grown. She is a little shy when first meeting new people, although she is very sweet tempered so she warms up quickly, especially when another friendly, playful dog is around. Once she gets to know you, she will happily cuddle with you. She loves to romp and play with other dogs and they really help her confidence level so she must have another, friendly dog in the home. She’s wonderful with all dogs and cats, but prefers medium to large dogs as her playmates. is accepting of visitors, but will be observant for a bit before she decides to greet them. Juniper is a very smart girl that is learning her manners and basic commands quickly. She is also almost completely house trained. She is a medium energy girl that will happily spend the day outside running and wrestling with her pals so she must have a 6ft or higher securely fenced yard. She would be a great family dog for a family with kids over 10yrs old. Because of her young age, she should not be left alone for more that 4-5hr intervals.

Story
Phoenix is the funniest, 15mo old 50lb guy! He is very active and much prefers to run and dance versus walking. He twirls when he runs and will leap back and forth in excitement when he knows a treat is coming. We are working on calming behaviors and impulse control, but he just gets so excited about being outside with his pals, it’s hard for him to settle down for at least the first 15 min of playtime. Then he’s more likely to pay attention to training games that teach more manners and commands. He appears to be a border collie / heeler mix, with what else, we don’t know. His intelligence suggests this, too. Phoenix would be an awesome hiking partner. After a short run, he’s also learning how to walk properly on a leash. Because of an old injury to his front leg when he was a puppy, he is not a candidate for long distance jogging or running. Walking and especially hiking would be the perfect outdoor activities instead. Phoenix loves other dogs so lots of doggy play dates are a must, although he doesn’t need another dog in the home. He has not been tested with cats, so no kitties please. He loves children but he’s still learning to be polite so kids must be over 12yrs old. An active home with a fenced yard is required. He does NOT have the herding tendencies like others of his breed type. Phoenix is crate trained and almost completely house trained. If he has potty breaks at least every 4-5hrs, he’s doing great with his training

Location : Korea Adoption inquiries: wds3628@nate.com ▶ (relationship with dogs) : He is very curious about dogs, but he doesn't like to play with the other dogs. ▶ (relationship with cats) : He doesn't have a problem with cats. When the cats run away or hides, he doesn't look for it or chase them. ▶ (relationship with people) : He loves people so much. And he is friendly and good with kids. ▶ (house trained) : Outdoor defecation He urinates while he is taking a walk. He defecates outside the house twice normally. (He never urinates or defecates at home!) ▶ (walks on leash) : He has no resistance to leash. He is very fond of taking a walk. ▶ (special notes) : When a motorcycle catches his eyes, he tries to chase the motorcycle. (I'm teaching about it that’s why he tries not to follow the motorcycle.) He has a joint problem. Sometimes it seems hard for him to run for a long time. He likes people so much that he wants to get attentions that’s why he approaches people actively. He jumps when he greets people. But, He is often not favorable to other dogs. When the other dog shows little bit of aggressiveness then Deok Bae takes an attacking stance or barks. He is sensitive to the sounds like TV and so on that’s why he sometimes whines.

Story
* KRAKEN CALENDAR FEATURE DOG * Yes, Ellie is in the 2023 Kraken Calendar with Buoy! Animal Profile: Ellie is an estimated 3-year-old female mixed breed who was rescued as a stray on the streets of Texas. She currently weighs about 50 lbs. Seattle Foster Update: Ellie is a fun-loving and affectionate dog who has never met a stranger and enjoys pets, belly rubs, and playing fetch with all people. She loves to do zoomies and is so funny when she runs at full speed -- she makes the funniest faces! She is super smart and food motivated which is helpful with training, but she also lacks impulse control so she will need a structured home that can set and consistently enforce boundaries. Ellie now has a good training foundation, knows loose leash walking with a confident handler, and is crate trained and potty trained. Ellie loves to play with other dogs but can be a bit pushy with her play style so would do best with a tolerant playful dog in the home or as the only dog. Though she is friendly with children, her exuberant nature makes us believe she would be best in a home with adults only or older children. Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Other tolerant dogs considered No cats preferred Older kids OK Fenced yard required Ability to continue with training Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Ellie joined us from our Texas rescue partner on February 16, 2022. She was fostered in the greater Seattle area and adopted and then many months later returned for being "out of control;" she had not been trained. She is currently in a training-savvy foster home and doing great. She is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. November 28, 2023, 4:47 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Tyger is an estimated 4-month-old, 23 lb male Border Collie / Lab mix.  Our rescue partner says he's a happy, wiggly guy looking for love. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Tyger is a very sweet pup with lots of energy. His favorite things to do include running zoomies in the backyard and chasing our resident dog. After some time playing he settles in for a nap in the crate, which he is still getting used to. Tyger can jump very high so we are working on not jumping on people. So far Tyger is doing very well with our two-year-old and has shown only slight interest in our cats. He has a lot of energy and will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. If you are looking for an adventure buddy, look no further.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA guidelines, negative heartworm test, and microchip. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred to us from Tulsa Animal Control via our rescue partner Furry Freight and arrives in Seattle on 10/22/23.November 28, 2023, 4:47 pm

Story
Sedona is an adorable and social 3 year -year-old red heeler/cattle dog mix, approx. 45 lbs. Sedona loves exploring the wilderness, playing with her friends, and giving lots of kisses. She is vaccinated, spayed & microchipped. Sedona has lots of playful puppy energy, but also loves a good nap (or 5) throughout the day. She loves playing with other dogs, but struggles with common herding dog reactivity, mainly towards unfamiliar people. The lifestyle she is currently in is not ideal for a herding dog so we are seeking a more appropriate and safe home for Sedona. She is an absolute sweetheart with her humans. She is very good at home, extremely smart and gentle & playful. With people outside of her main people, she requires slow, gentle introductions & attentive supervision. Sedona generally takes a while to warm up to strangers, but once she does she is such a lover and your friend for life. Sedona is a very smart dog that just has some extra needs & would do best with a family who understands her breed and has patience for her anxiety. Sedona has not been exposed to cats yet, and she tends to be more comfortable with children than with adults. She is very smart and currently knows the commands; sit, lay down, touch, paw, den (kennel), bed, inside, outside, toy, woah. She is still working on stay and heel (loose leash walking). Located currently in the Seattle area and ready to meet. If you are interested in knowing more about Sedona, please text or call Cylver at 651-280-9224 or email cylver1@live.com and please include your phone number. Thank you for your interest in this wonderful and very special girl!
