Story
Meet Bada🩵 (It means sea in Korean) At the end of June 2022, Bada was admitted to the shelter with a fractured front leg. Bandaged in the hot weather, his wound attracted flies, and upon examination after rescue, his bones were misaligned, requiring a second surgery. Now, his bones have healed well, and he is happily running around without any issues. 😊 * Interaction with People : Bada is extremely fond of people. He's a sweetheart to humans, always greeting them with a big smile, which is so adorable. ❤ * Interaction with Dogs: He can be assertive towards dogs who play rough, so caution is needed. Tends to avoid encountering dogs with whom he had a clash at the Center. * Potty Training: He's been doing outdoor potty at the Center. * Hygiene: He's cooperative with ear cleaning and doesn't resist. However, he might whine when getting his nails trimmed as he's not used to it, so regular walks to grind his nails are necessary. * Walking: He follows people without pulling on the leash. Sometimes, he may resist going where he doesn't want to, but with leash training, he'll likely improve quickly. * Car Sickness: He's fine in the car and doesn't experience motion sickness at all! 💌Special Notes💌 * Separation anxiety and toilet training are still unknown as he's been living in a group at the center. * He rarely barks unnecessarily, but sometimes, he may bark alertly at external noises. He stops when called. * Bada enjoys being with people and receiving love while resting, so a place where he can receive undivided attention would be ideal. ☺️ He also enjoys his alone time when needed!

Story
Meet Rown🖤🤍 *Toward people: Loves people very very much! Although he experienced lots of accidents and has tragic memories about his past, he is a human-loving dog who shows lots and lots of love and affection! *Toward dogs: Is an energetic dog who loves playing with dog friends. Small dogs may be afraid of him sometimes due to his upbeat personality, but he can become a gentle dog by training him to control his excitement! *Separation anxiety: Unknown as he is staying at the center. *Potty training: Only outdoor potties at the center. *Hygiene: Has not experienced proper hygiene care yet as he is recovering/ getting treatments after his surgery, but he took hygiene-related care very well before surgery! ☺️ *Walking: Enjoys walking, but needs training as he may get hyper-excited. *Car-sickness: Rides cars very well without carsickness! 🖤Rescue Story🤍 Rown was rescued from the streets. He urgently needed surgery as he ate stones and screws. His legs were also injured probably due to the tough street environment, so he also had leg surgery and is currently recovering well. Rown is looking for a forever family that can give him lots of love and help make him healthy again! 🙏🏻 💌Special Notes💌 *Is undergoing rehabilitation after his ankle surgery, but has recovered a lot and walks well now! He may need to receive continuous rehabilitation therapy. Completed ankle fracture surgery

Story
Personality: Friendly and easily trainable. Curious like a puppy and not easily excited by other animals (dogs, birds, cats, etc.). Enjoys playing and has a good appetite. Interactions with Women: Licks and wags tail when seeing them, and allows them to pet and cuddle. Interactions with Men: Runs up to them and asks for attention. Sociable with both men and women. Interactions with Children: Shows belly when touched and licks their faces. Interactions with Other Dogs: Approaches and plays with them without hesitation. However, if the other dog shows signs of discomfort, immediately stops and walks away. Very perceptive. Interactions with Cats: Showed no interest in a cat encountered during a walk. Followed the signal to move on without hesitation. Complete Toilet Training: Knew to use the puppy pad right away. Currently 100% successful. Complete Crate Training: Not afraid to go into the crate. Initially whines when the door is closed, but soon waits quietly. Energy Level: After a little over an hour of walking, flopped down on the way back home. Still a puppy, so gets tired quickly with extended outdoor activities. Plays fairly calmly indoors. Comfort with Being Handled: Enjoys being touched and responds well to training with treats. Tendency to Bark: Occasionally barks when demanding something or when nervous. Tendency to Run Away: So far, no tendency to run away. Comes when called and follows well with other dogs. Appetite Issues: Has a good appetite, but no issues. Current Food: Royal Canin Puppy. Walking with a Leash: Initially resisted wearing the leash, but as soon as we went outside, happily trotted along, even if the leash got tangled. Reaction to People or Dogs on Leash: Not very interested. Comfortable in the Car: Sleeps or lies quietly in the crate during car rides. Doesn't experience motion sickness. Destructive Behavior: Tried to chew on a wooden table but was immediately stopped and redirected to play with a dog toy. So far, no destructive behavior. Need for a Yard: It would be nice to have a yard, but not a necessary requirement as long as there is a suitable environment for potty training and regular walks. Need to Live with Other Dogs: Would adapt well to living with other dogs who have good social skills. However, also suitable for living as the only dog due to sociable nature. Suitable for Apartment Living: Definitely suitable. Rescue Story: Olly was rescued from a puppy farm and has only lived in shelters since birth.

Story
Meet Kip, the ultimate housemate! This adorable 3-year-old border collie shepherd mix is all about cuddles and playtime, but he's also really happy to peacefully snooze the day away until it's time to hang out. Kip’s favorite activities include lounging together with belly rubs (don't stop please), playing tug and frisbee at home and in the yard (he will absolutely let you win if it means you'll play another round), and showing off his impressive training skills (A+ student). Kip is a homebody at heart and prefers the comfort of familiar surroundings. He’s not a fan of trips or new places and might bark at strangers, but that just means he loves being with his family the most! He gets along well with other dogs and cats, though he might need a little time to warm up. Kip is super gentle with kids but would thrive in a calm and quiet household. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will fill your home with love and joy, Kip is your guy!

Story
Welcome Houdini to CCPAL foster program. Houdini is a young male that is 5 months old. He is 50% Border Collie and the other is Terrier. He has the coat and temperament of the Border Collie. He should be 45 pounds full grown. He currently is about 25 pounds. He lives with children and is around goats in his farm house foster home. He has long beautiful and shinny fur. He is attentive and knows sit, shake a paw and can walk on a leash. He is good in a car and friendly with his litter mates. He hasn’t been around any other dogs but his litter mates. They are all boys. Houdini is not the most dominant of the 3 pack. He has the striking looks of a Border Collie. We would love someone that knows and loves the breed to apply for Houdini. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 600. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He can be in a home with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the huge fees they take from the rescue. Talk about right place at the right time yet again with our foster mum & for beautiful Shiba. This is another one of those disgusting stories plus so very sad for Shiba. Our foster mum was at one of the very high kill shelters in CA rescuing a sweet soul when a family come along who were going to dump Shiba. They daughter said she did not like Shiba because her eyes freaked her out. Shiba was her dads dog & had her since she was a puppy & they were all moving. The dad lived in the garage & he left Shiba with them that morning because in his new place he couldn’t have dogs. So the daughter wanted Shiba gone & was not willing to take her to the new place they were moving to. The usual disgusting story of, we are moving so we can’t take our beloved dogs with us story. Unfortunately our foster mum thought there was only Shiba they were dumping but they had 2 more dogs. As our foster mum was driving away down the road a young daughter in the car yells out “we have 2 more dogs we are giving to the shelter”, but her father told her not to bother the lady. So unfortunately 2 other dogs did enter the shelter & we don’t know if they made it out alive from the same home? We are so grateful to have saved Shiba. We can’t begin to express how much we all love this girl. Without our outstanding foster mum this would not of happened & who knows what would of happened to this precious girl? Shiba is 1 of our beloved rescues favorite girl in the rescue. She is the nicest girl. We truly believed her dad did love her very much. Medically, no & financially no. That was all on our shoulders to take care of. But her mannerisms tell she was loved. Shiba who is now looking for her very own forever home & who will never give up on her again & dump her & love her just as her foster mum & we do. Shiba was bought back to WA state from CA where we got all of her medical taken care of & she can’t wait to find her loving forever home. Our foster mum in CA cried & cried the day Shiba left as she knew she was a very special girl. How on earth anyone could let Shiba down is beyond us. Especially since the previous people had her so long, it’s shocking. Shiba just wants to be loved & look look out, once you love her back you will have a new best friend for life. Disturbing to think of what almost happened to her. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA. Shiba is such a good girl her foster mum said, she is super sweet, she is so quite & lives to be near you. You look at her & she looks straight into your soul. It’s time for this girl to be the queen as she always should of been. Shiba is a good eater, she loves to eat & put on countless pounds since being rescued. Shiba loves sleeping with her foster mum & wants to sleep with her & does not like to sleep alone. So we are only looking for a home where she can sleep with her family or other dog friends in the home. Shiba’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for her safety. She loves to go outside & sun herself & play in the backyard. She wants to be wherever you are her foster mum said. She will become your stalker. If you get up, she gets up. If you take a shower, there she is on the other side waiting for you. This sweetheart has been taught to shake paws as it shows in 1 of her pictures. She is a smart girl. Shiba has been great with her baths because she started having them with us the moment she was rescued & she was quite filthy when our foster mum got her. She is also so used to them & is good being dried by the hairdryer. Shiba rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & enjoys looking out the window & going places with you. Shiba walks beautifully on her slip lead. We cannot say enough how wonderful this girl is & we want the very best forever home for her. We are looking for a forever home for Shiba where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Shiba is good with other dogs & we have even put her into a daycare with all different breeds of dogs & she has done good with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lady only. Shiba is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her. Shiba has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. We have tested her for roughly 9 months with countless dogs in & out of a daycare with countless breeds & she has done well with them. But we want her to be the only dog in her forever home so she can be the queen & get all the attention. Shiba was adopted for a extremely short period of time but it was not a match as she did not get along with the dog in the home the adopter said & she had scuffles with that dog so they did not want her & returned her. Shiba is roughly 5 years old & 61 lbs & is perhaps an Australian shepard, but what she is mixed with we are not sure at all. She is female, spayed by laser by our wonderful vets. Shiba is, heart worm negative, had a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays. We treated Shiba for a raging skin infection where she lost some of her fur on her belly & legs with antibiotics but her fur grew back. She is microchipped, given flea treatment, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Shiba, with all of her medical care than her adoption fee comes close to even covering, her spay by laser, all of her shots, testing her for heart worm, microchip transport fees bringing her back to WA state, etc. Shiba has been around cats since being in the rescue in her foster home & could care less about the cat in her foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Shiba was conceived so we do not know who both her parents were, but it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Shiba’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Shiba potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Shiba has been through many traumas in her short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for her care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Shiba & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Shiba who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this beautiful soul of a lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Shiba has an adoption fee of $995 & her adoption fee does not come close to what we have spent on this beautiful girl. Shiba is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Her mum who we have in the rescue & rescued from death. Aussie was pregnant in a high kill shelter in CA & was going to be euthanized heavily pregnant because no one was coming to help her. Well we did & she gave birth to 7 puppies, but unfortunately 1 went to heaven. Maggie was one of the 6 & the only female with her 5 brothers. They were all loved & looked after in a foster home & once she & her brothers were old enough they came back to WA & now Miss Maggie is looking for a forever home & a wonderful family to love her. Maggie is such a very soft gentle natured little lady compared to the huge personalities of her brothers. She is a little shy at first until she knows you then her loving, adventurous & curious puppy personality comes out. She loves, loves other dogs & playing with them & absolutely needs another dog in the home for her to thrive. She likes sitting on a chair & looking out the window in her foster home & taking it all in. She will also want to sleep in the bed with you & adores throwing herself around in comfy blankets. When she is comfortable her tail does not stop wagging. She is still a puppy & would still need to be taught her puppy manners. She also enjoys going up to her foster mum & resting her head on her & being close to her. She adores being held & kissed. She is such a lovely innocent girl. We also put Maggie into a daycare to socialize her with all different dog personalities & she has done well. Maggie’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for her safety. She enjoys going out into the backyard in her foster home & running around playing with her friends & siblings. In CA she also enjoyed laying out in the sun & relaxing. His mum who we have in the rescue & rescued from death. Aussie was pregnant in a high kill shelter in CA & was going to be euthanized heavily pregnant because no one was coming to help her. Well we did & she gave birth to 7 puppies, but unfortunately 1 went to heaven. Morgan was one of the remaining 6 babies. They were all loved & looked after in a foster home in CA & once he & is siblings were old enough they came back to WA & now Morgan is looking for a forever home & a wonderful family to love him. UPDATE: We are absolutely devastated to say that Morgan the very loyal boy is yet again looking for his forever home. He is losing his home because he has become protective of his mum & dad in his own home & when they have guests over he has become fearful of other people & nipped at them & lunged at them while in his home. While with us in our rescue, Morgan was always a gentleman & loved everyone & was our vet’s favorite boy. Morgan is a rescue, we are looking for a forever home for him where he has a quite home now & not lots of guests. He does love other dogs. His previous family said: - Loves walks, puzzles, chew toys, cuddling on the couch, playing in the yard, and most of all fetch. - Sleeps until around 7:30AM, is mellow for a few hours, then is ready for physical activity and mental stimulation. Naps multiple times a day and settles down for the night around 8:00PM. - Eats 3 x a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. - Highly intelligent and very food driven. Training with treats has been very successful. - Has learned the commands come, sit, stay, lay-down, shake, go to your bed, off and drop it. - Prefers to be with his humans. The most time he has been left at home alone was 2.5 hours and he was not destructive. Morgan is shy & nervous at first when he doesn’t know you but once he warms up to you, he is SUPER sweet & just wants to be near you! He just wanted me to keep petting him so he was standing up to reach my hands. Whoever adopts him will be so lucky once he warms up to them. He is so precious one our wonderful ladies at our vets said while Morgan was there getting his medical taken care of. She also said she wants to say hi to Morgan when she comes in & he gets so excited to see her & he is such a sweet boy. Morgan is such a lovely natured little lad & compared to his other brothers who have so much energy. Of course being a puppy he is adventurous & has the curious puppy personality come out. He gets along so well with other dogs & will play with other dogs & he could be the king of his new house to if he got all the attention. He will also want to sleep in the bed with you & adores throwing himself around in comfy blankets. When he is comfortable his tail does not stop wagging. He is still a puppy & would still need to be taught his puppy manners. He also adores being close to people & so wants to be held & kissed. At our vets everyone told us how much they love Morgan & wished they could give him a forever home. We also put Morgan into a daycare to socialize him with all different dog personalities & he has done well. Morgan’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & running around playing with his friends & siblings. In CA he also enjoyed laying out in the sun & relaxing. Morgan has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster home the moment he was able to so he is used to them. He loves both men & woman once he knows them. Morgan rode beautifully in the car with his foster mum & enjoys a good journey & will also once he knows & trusts his new family to. We have had him in the car a couple of times teaching him car rides are a good thing. He still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash but he is learning but still gangly when being walked. We are looking for a forever home for Morgan where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Morgan is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & his puppy ways. Morgan has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. A fenced backyard is mandatory for Morgan. Morgan is roughly just 9 months old & 29 lbs & is perhaps an Australian cattle & what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets & he is microchipped. He was given flea treatment, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, dewormed. Morgan has been around cats since being in the rescue in his foster home in CA & did well with the cat in the foster home but doesn’t mean he will do well with all cats. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Morgan was conceived so we do not know who his dad is but know who his mum is & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Morgan friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Morgan potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Morgan & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. We will only be accepting applications for Morgan who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. We have spent so much more money on Morgan than his adoption fee even comes close to covering. Morgan has an adoption fee of $855 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
