Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:1Ezequiel is a 10-month-old boxer weighing 65 pounds. He is a sweet, sensitive puppy who's still learning that the world can be a safe place. Everything is a little overwhelming right now, but with patience and kindness, this gentle boy has all the potential to blossom into the happy, confident companion he's meant to be. He'll thrive with experienced adopters who can let him settle in at his own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. A quiet adult home with a confident resident dog would be a wonderful fit, helping Ezequiel build confidence and discover all the joys of being a puppy. He would do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home.August 7, 2026, 2:11 am

Story
Thank you for your interest in this sweet girl. Ella has been adopted, Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 73 lbs. of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, with dogs who are submissive, or as an only dog. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!

Story
Gypsy has been waiting for her forever home since she was just a puppy at the Milo Foundation Sanctuary. Through it all, she has never stopped hoping that the right person will come along. Gypsy is an active, loyal girl who is happiest by your side. She would thrive with someone who enjoys hiking, running, exploring new trails, or simply spending time outdoors. If you're looking for a dedicated adventure partner and workout buddy, Gypsy is ready to join you every step of the way. Because Gypsy loves having her person all to herself, she would do best as the only dog in the home. In return, she'll give you her whole heart and become a faithful companion who wants nothing more than to share life's adventures with you. This wonderful girl has been waiting far too long for the chance to experience the love and comfort of a home of her own. Could you be the one she's been waiting for? Story
Jojo is being fostered in Illinois. Has some vision.Hi. My name is Jojo. I am a 4-year-old boxer mix. I like to think of myself as a playful happy-go-lucky gal. I may not see you well because close objects are like shadows and a little blurry to me, but I know you are there. I get along well with all the cats and dogs in my foster home. I like cats (see https://youtu.be/t_3b0r0n9LY ). But I may need slow introductions with little feisty dogs. But I would love to go to a home that has many friendly 4-legged buddies.I like to be active and meet people and other dogs (see https://youtu.be/9LG4Cy9_kJI ). However, I am not too good with children because a lot of time kids either approach me too fast or gather around me, which makes me so scared that I have to give a warning snap. But I do love my walks. Even more, I love an open field that I can have all to myself so I can let out a lot of my energy (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nWkm8OssZU ). At home, I like to relax and sit at my spot while my foster daddy is doing his work. Everyday, I get to be petted and it makes me feel loved (see https://youtu.be/Y_-7FDicj-M ).I am housebroken. However, every once in a while, I have accidents because anxiety gets the best of me when I realize my foster dad has not been home for a while. I will do well in a home where someone is present 90-95 percent of time, perhaps with someone who works out of home or is an active retired person.Blind Dog Rescue has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Through no fault of her own, Samantha has been in our shelter for more than a year after being found as a stray. She is incredibly resilient, living in a kennel month after month, and we are honored to care for her. But she needs a home. Take a close look at this deserving little pittie. Perhaps you'll see what we do: the best smiling face, the happiest attitude, the bubbliest personality. Can you imagine waking up to this pure doggie joy every day? She's a smiler who seems to revel in life, a dog who sees the glass as half full. The word wigglebutt was invented for Samantha. She's been in a shelter for so long, she has been quite nervous in a couple of her foster homes, barking at noises and people she doesn't know. But she settles down with patience. Samantha's reactivity toward other animals has improved, but she should be your only pet until she receives further training to leave cats and small dogs alone. * 2 years, 4 months old * small for her breed * easy to walk * lots of fun * loves people * Good with kids * should be only fur child Apply on our website, and call (510) 337-8565 to make an appointment. If she is not in a foster home, you may meet Samantha any afternoon except Monday at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda, California. Her adoption fee has already been paid for by an admirer, so you owe nothing!

Story
• Smart and eager to learn• Affectionate cuddle bug• Playful and socialSandman is a lovable, goofy tripod with a big personality and an even bigger heart. When he went to foster for a bit, he settled beautifully into home life and clearly enjoyed being part of the family. He’s house trained, crate trained, learned to ring a bell to go potty, and loves having a cozy routine that includes naps, walks, chew toys, and lots of affection. He gets along well with other dogs and loves inviting them to play. Tug-of-war is one of his favorite games and he’s especially sweet with smaller dogs, often letting them “win.” Frozen kongs, chew toys, and cuddle time help him unwind and he’s become quite the couch companion.Sandman is very food and toy motivated, which makes him easy to train. He already knows “sit,” responds well to redirection, and has been making steady progress on leash manners. He can get excited when he sees other dogs on walks, but he’s improving with guidance and responds well to structure and positive reinforcement. He’s a smart dog who learns quickly when expectations are consistent. He would likely thrive in a home with older kids and would love a canine playmate. He’s also wonderfully tolerant with grooming, enjoys bath time, and happily soaks up attention from his people.Sandman is the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily with his silly antics then immediately melt into you for cuddles at the end of the day. He’s looking for a patient, active home that will continue helping him grow into the amazing companion he’s already becoming.
