Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:1Carmen is a beach-loving explorer with a heart as big as the ocean! She recently aced her beach outing, enjoying the breeze and sniffing out new scents with ease. Carmen navigated the car ride like a pro and remained calm even when faced with unexpected scooter encounters. This engaging and affectionate pup leans in for scritches and responds eagerly to commands. She's treat-motivated and enjoys gentle interactions, making her a joy to be around. Whether she’s gazing back at you with those soulful eyes or sitting patiently for some well-deserved head pets, Carmen’s devotion knows no bounds. Carmen thrives in a home with experienced owners who can continue positive reinforcement training. Due to her resource guarding tendencies, she's best suited for a household without children. Gabby is a pretty brindled lady brand new to FAAS. She`s calm, friendly and easy to walk and interact with, all hallmarks of a great addition to your family.&#10&#10* 8 years old&#10* 61 lbs&#10* Ignores and possibly likes other dogs&#10* Sweet, friendly and calm &#10* Easy to handle and harness&#10* Playful&#10* No-drama pup&#10&#10A well-adjusted senior, Gabby seems more interested in taking in the sights and sniffing the breeze than frantically checking pee-mail or getting into shouting matches with other dogs. We can easily imagine her snoozing on our couch, sitting at our feet while we work, or helping us run errands in dog-friendly stores.&#10Come meet her any afternoon but Mondays at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter in Alameda, California!

Story
We rescued Jax 4 years ago, and he's become a beloved member of our family that we are heartbroken to have to re-home due to new jobs with travel and commutes. Jax is a nearly 7 year old boxer mix... a 70 pound dog who would love to sit in your lap and give lots of sloppy kisses if you let him! Jax is a sweetheart, whether curled at your feet in the family room, playing keep-away with the kids, or running with his doggie friends around the backyard. Jax's main challenge is separation anxiety: He spent over a year in the shelters after being abandoned by his previous family, and still suffers from anxiety if left alone at home. We've worked with him to gradually build up to being at home for an hour, or with another dog, but haven't been able to be consistent in his training in this area. The perfect home for Jax will have a large enclosed yard, one or more doggie companions, and loving humans around him! $50 donation to your local shelter required.

Story
Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

Story
This little girl has all the energy and spunk you would expect from a puppy. And such a personality! Nomad loves to run and play....chase, wrestle, play tug-o-war, and leap like a gazelle. She loves her sister Gypsy, and loves people. She wants to be wherever you are, and is up for whatever you are doing. She is a puppy, which means she will need to learn how to behave in polite society....which she will quickly master. Nomad is an intelligent, playful, beautiful little pup. She is here at the sanctuary just waiting to be discovered and taken home. If you would like to know more, come meet her, and hopefully take her home, call the sanctuary in Willits at (707) 459-4900.

Story
Shepherd / Pitbull Mix Age: 1 yr old Female, Spayed 40 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Mandy was brought to a local ER vet after being hit by a car, then transferred to the Stockton shelter. No one claimed her, so the shelter asked us to pull her and provide medical care. She had a fractured hip and leg. FHO surgery was performed and the leg was splinted. She is all healed. Mandy loves and is very playful with other dogs, she is bonded with the foster’s pitbull mix. Smaller dogs can be intimidated by her playful energy. However, with people she was very reactive to strangers that she met. The foster has been working on socializing her in different settings (dog park, vet’s office, etc). Mandy does very well with a handler that is calm and confident when working with her. Mandy would do well in a home with another playful active dog her size or bigger. She also needs an experienced adopter that radiates confident / pack leader vibes. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
Pitbull Mix Age: 2-3 yrs old Male, Neutered 50 lbs Click here for Adoption Application Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Grady (a.k.a. “Bear”) came to foster care from the Stockton animal shelter with a plea to save this wonderful dog. Grady likely was hit by a car and was limping around for an estimated month prior to being picked up by animal control. He had a broken pelvis and needed FHO surgery. He was probably in a lot of pain for two months, if not more. Despite his pain, Grady was labeled a “staff favorite” at the shelter due to his sweet demeanor and love of affection from his human friends there taking care of him. This information led him to being saved by a willing foster with pittie experience and Nobody’s Perfekt Rescue. Grady was pulled out of the shelter, just in the nick of time. Once in foster care, Grady took a couple of weeks to get used to the house dog. He was in pain, in a crate and in an unfamiliar place, so slow introductions were needed. After about two weeks, he and the house dog, a female pittie named Ruby, became best friends and love play. Grady would love to have a friend to play with in a home but could likely also be the only dog. Grady would be best suited for a dog friend similar in size and gets along well with female dogs. Grady needs slow and proper introductions to another dog through crate or area rotation. On leash, he can be leash reactive when around other big dogs that he does not know. He walks well on leash otherwise but is still limping on his rear left leg. Grady is a cuddle-lovebug with a very cute little underbite and has the face of a baby bear, hence his nickname. He loves every human he has met so far and loves sleeping in his foster mom’s lap. Grady loves to melt into your arms or lap and hang out on the couch and loves affection. He’s an easy dog to handle and listens well. He knows how to sit, wait and probably shake, but loses balance when he tries, due to his rear leg. Grady will alert when someone is at the front door and barks at leaf blowers and loud equipment. He will need regular attention and training but responds well to treats and food. He should also be fed separately from any other dog in the house, as most dogs do when food is present. Grady sleeps through the night in his crate and is house-potty trained. He knows how to use a doggie door and uses it regularly in his foster home. Any home would be lucky to have Grady-Bear and he would make a wonderful addition to any household. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Grady, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
