Story
Fiona is just over a year old and is a boxer mix. She was adopted in September 2025 from Milwaukee Area Animal Domestic Control. Fiona has a partial rectal prolapse: it resolves on its own and does not require emergency care, but does require close supervision and a strict diet. Prolapse only occurs if diet isn’t followed or eats something she shouldn’t. She does best with boiled chicken, white rice, and carrots or green beans, fed three times daily with added water or homemade chicken broth, daily supplements and occasionally pureed pumpkin. She cannot eat other foods or certain bones. Any home with other animals must keep all pet food secured and use a covered litter box for cats. Fiona will do best with children over 10. Fiona will come with supplies, and more detailed information about her care and routine will be provided to serious adoption candidates. We are looking for a home that understands her needs and is willing to continue her current care regime & love her like we do.

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Tucker and I’m a brindle beauty. I’m looking for my furever family, so if you’re looking for an active family dog, keep reading! I’m almost a year old and my energy level shows it! Do you like to go hikes and swim in lakes?? Or even daily walks and an intense game of fetch—I’m your boy! As long as there’s toys, I’m happy. If there’s water—I’m even happier! Take a look at my DNA results too, no wonder I’m so cute! I’m good with other dogs, they’re fun to play with…I haven’t met any cats, but that can be arranged. Kids are great too—just remember I’m #60 of energy and I might accidentally knock the littles ones down. Otherwise I’m ready to go to my new home, I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, potty trained and kennel trained. All I’m waiting for is a family and a couch to cuddle up on!! Apply for me today!! Adoption fee:$250 https://www.cognitoforms.com/TinyPawsSmallDogRescue1/AdoptionApplication

Story
Ah some fresh air! A little walk, a couple of zoomies in a play yard and I’m ready for belly rubs. Then let’s walk a little more, some sniffing here and there and of course I always stop to look at people when they talk to me. I love all the attention I can get. So now that you are seeing my online picture, imagine me with my big head of your lap, relaxing with you and just enjoying all these special moments of being together. I’m not too much into sharing my people with other pets but that’s just because I have so much love to give. I’d prefer a home with not too much commotion. I’m also pretty smart – get me to sit and stay, throw a treat and then ask me to find it. I always succeed….I have to say that I really like food. My tail is wagging in anticipation of meeting my new family.

Story
Moe is a young Boxer mix with a big personality and a loving heart. He’s potty trained, crate trained, listens well, and does great with other dogs. Moe is generally good-natured and likes to stay close to his people—he enjoys being part of whatever’s going on. Moe loves toys and snuggles and has an active, playful side that will thrive with an engaged family. He would do best in an active home that can provide structure, exercise, and continued training. Because Moe can get mouthy during play, he should not be placed in a home with small children. Moe will need an experienced dog owner. While he shows no signs of aggression in daily life, he has reacted with little warning when medications are applied to his ears or skin during treatment for infections. Outside of these situations, he is affectionate and stable. His future family should be comfortable working with a veterinarian and using management strategies for medical care. One thing to note—Moe is curious and a known countertop surfer! Food should be kept out of reach, as he won’t hesitate to help himself if given the chance. Moe is looking for a knowledgeable, active home that understands his needs and will love him for the fun, loyal companion he is. With the right fit, Moe will be a devoted sidekick ready for adventure, play, and plenty of cuddle time.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
Hi! My name is Jersey, and I’m a young guy looking for a family who will love me and help me blossom into the amazing dog I know I can be. My life didn’t start out very easy, I was found emaciated and spent two weeks at a shelter in Milwaukee before Best Paws Rescue gave me a second chance. Now I’m living the good life in my foster home, and wow… I LOVE it here! There are so many toys, comfy beds for naps, and regular meals that are helping me get healthy and strong. I’ve recently discovered that cuddle time is pretty awesome, and my foster dad says I’m well on my way to becoming a professional snuggler. I’m a very sweet boy who loves toys and enjoys being around people and other dogs. I really want to play with my foster dog sibling. I’m just still learning how to ask and figuring out dog manners and social cues. I’m not mean or aggressive at all, just a little inexperienced and eager to learn. I’m still working on potty training, but I’m making progress. I sleep quietly in my crate at night, which my foster parents really appreciate. I’ve also met cats! I was curious and wanted to play, but I respected them when they hissed and swatted. Such good feedback, right Because I’m young and enthusiastic, I could do well with children as long as parents understand I might accidentally knock little ones over and can get a bit mouthy when excited (I do listen well to correction). With continued socialization and training, I have all the potential to become an incredible companion. All in all, Jersey has had a rough start, but he’s incredibly loving, eager to learn, and ready for a family who will help him build confidence and continue showing him how good life can be. Requirements: Children 5 years and Older All of our animals reside in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their perfect match. If you are interested in meeting this animal, please complete an adoption application on our website: https://www.BestPawsRescue.com   Ages and breeds are our best estimates, and we cannot make any guarantees. Most of our animals come from overcrowded shelters with limited resources. We do our best to evaluate each animal’s behavior and medical needs and place them into loving foster homes until they are ready to go home with you. Our organization is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time and love out of the goodness of their hearts. ##2649817##

Meet Emmitt, he is a 10 month old Pitt Terrier that we adopted just a few months ago, but due to our work schedules changing and our daughter not being too fond of dogs at this moment, we need to re-home him. Emmitt, is high energy, loves to play, and gets along great with other dogs and kids. Emmitt has gone through two levels of dog training and is also potty trained. He is a very sweet and lovable. He doesn't like to be alone much, loves to cuddle, and be around people. Emmitt is neutered and up to date on all of his shots.
