Story
Moe is a young Boxer mix with a big personality and a loving heart. He’s potty trained, crate trained, listens well, and does great with other dogs. Moe is generally good-natured and likes to stay close to his people—he enjoys being part of whatever’s going on. Moe loves toys and snuggles and has an active, playful side that will thrive with an engaged family. He would do best in an active home that can provide structure, exercise, and continued training. Because Moe can get mouthy during play, he should not be placed in a home with small children. Moe will need an experienced dog owner. While he shows no signs of aggression in daily life, he has reacted with little warning when medications are applied to his ears or skin during treatment for infections. Outside of these situations, he is affectionate and stable. His future family should be comfortable working with a veterinarian and using management strategies for medical care. One thing to note—Moe is curious and a known countertop surfer! Food should be kept out of reach, as he won’t hesitate to help himself if given the chance. Moe is looking for a knowledgeable, active home that understands his needs and will love him for the fun, loyal companion he is. With the right fit, Moe will be a devoted sidekick ready for adventure, play, and plenty of cuddle time.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
Fiona is just over a year old and is a boxer mix. She was adopted in September 2025 from Milwaukee Area Animal Domestic Control. Fiona has a partial rectal prolapse: it resolves on its own and does not require emergency care, but does require close supervision and a strict diet. Prolapse only occurs if diet isn’t followed or eats something she shouldn’t. She does best with boiled chicken, white rice, and carrots or green beans, fed three times daily with added water or homemade chicken broth, daily supplements and occasionally pureed pumpkin. She cannot eat other foods or certain bones. Any home with other animals must keep all pet food secured and use a covered litter box for cats. Fiona will do best with children over 10. Fiona will come with supplies, and more detailed information about her care and routine will be provided to serious adoption candidates. We are looking for a home that understands her needs and is willing to continue her current care regime & love her like we do.

Story
Meet Yogi! Yogi is an 8-year-old Boxer with a heart full of love and eyes that tell a story. This senior sweetheart came to us from Berrien County Animal Control, and it’s clear he’s been through a lot—but he hasn’t let that dim his gentle spirit. Yogi is ready to leave his past behind and spend his golden years soaking up the comfort and care he truly deserves. He’s the kind of companion who would be happiest by your side—whether that’s taking a leisurely stroll, lounging on the couch, or simply sharing a quiet moment together. He’s not asking for much—just a warm home, a soft bed, and someone to love him unconditionally. Could you be Yogi’s hero and give him the peaceful, loving retirement he’s been waiting for? From his foster: "Yogi learned to be comfortable in his cage after about a few nights and is safe to stay there for hours at a time. However, we trust him to stay outside his cage, with our two cats who also roam, while we're out/asleep and has never made any problems. He never barks and only whines when he wants to go outside. Yogi loves going on long walks (once we went for 2 hours and he still had gas in the tank). It’s much more energy than we thought he would, but that’s probably because we don’t have a yard for him to make his own fun. We’ve also discovered his love of tennis balls and squeaky toys. He loves competing in races for his tennis balls and squeaky toys. He’s not very interested in my cats at all, which is perfect. After about a week or two, they’ve become completely comfortable around him though they’ll get out of his way if they see him coming. It’s made things way less stressful knowing I can trust him with my cats. He seems to have zero prey drive, since he also isn’t interested in rabbits or squirrels that scurry across the sidewalk in front of us. He’s never had an accident in my apartment, though he has thrown up in a car before so now we bring a barf bowl which is pretty effective. We’ve started feeding him a mix of wet food to supplement his diet and help him put on some weight. He seems very fit now. His skin has also improved dramatically. There are no visible bumps or scars on his back, unlike how it looked when he first came home with us. We’ve been teaching him some tricks too. He knows “Stay” and “Come” pretty well, though won’t always listen if there are a lot of distractions. I’ve been teaching him “Leave it” and “Sit” as well. We thought he might be a little deaf at first because he’d ignore his name, but he definitely responds to it now. He’s very friendly with dogs that he meets. He likes to say hi, but he never obsesses over them which helps make him a lot less intimidating and a good companion dog. Similar to people, he likes to say hi and then move on with his walk. He's very sweet and not at all dominating. He’s very calm when meeting people and animals. Yogi is also very tolerant of showers. While he whines a bit, he does not struggle when properly tethered and is not dramatic compared to other dogs. He is further very tolerant of us cleaning his paws 3x a day when we come back from his walks so that he doesn't bring in dirt. Overall, he’s a really sweet dog and I love him. He’s the cutest thing. He loves cuddling with us on the couch but also isn’t too clingy and will stay out of my room."

Story
My name is Melissa, and I’m reaching out because I need help with my dog. I’m currently experiencing homelessness and want to make sure she gets the care and stability she deserves. She has some ongoing skin irritation and hot spots that need medication. She’s wearing a cone right now to prevent licking, but I’m not in a position to continue providing her medical care or a stable home. I love her very much, and my goal is to find a safe and supportive place for her — whether that’s a foster program, medical assistance, or permanent rehoming. Thank you
