Story
Laila is a boxer and guessed to be 3 yrs old. She was found dumped in Indiana. She was rescued by a kind person and brought to Reach Rescue where she was rushed to the vet for emergency life saving surgery. She has been recovering with her foster family and is doing quite well. During her recovery, she loves hanging out on the couch, chilling and sporting an attractive e-collar. Laila is all about her people, she prefers to be in your lap, snoring away (and she is quite the snorer.) She follows her foster Mom from room to room and will whine when her people are not with her. Laila is going to need some fattening up as she came in with her ribs quite prominent. Laila is looking for a family that will love on her, she would be happy with another dog or not. She is potty trained as long as her family watches for her cues, crate trained and generally a lover of all people. She gets along well with other dogs and ignores the cats.   Fill out an adoption application to schedule your own private meet and greet with this furry friend. Story
Hey there, it's your girl Ruby. I'm taking a minute away from my playtime to tell you a little about me. My sister Stella and I came to AEAR by way of the Anti Cruelty Society in Chicago. I recently had surgery for cherry eye and I'm doing great! My foster mom Wendy says I'm super sweet, a great kisser and have a face everyone can love. If you check out the AEAR Facebook page, you'll see a funny conversation between me and my foster mom. Fact about cherry eye: Cherry eye, also known as ''cherry eye syndrome,'' is a common term used to describe a condition that affects dogs, particularly certain breeds like Bulldogs, Cocker Spaniels, and Beagles. It refers to the prolapse or protrusion of the nictitating membrane or third eyelid gland, which is normally located in the inner corner of a dog's eye._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Ruby is $ 525.00WANT TO MEET RubyThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Ruby and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. Story
Bear is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive dark brindle coat. We estimate Bear’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Bear loves people and he also loves eating almost anything. He is not so much a chewer, as a dog who likes to eat rocks, sticks, toys. As such, his new family will need to be vigilant to ensure Bear does not get himself into trouble, ingesting non-food items! Bear is active and energetic, typical of a big, young dog, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained (but, watch out for him eating rocks, sticks, etc!!); he would not do well in a dog park or day care. We suggest he be an only dog. Given his size and energy level, Bear would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Bear! An ideal home for Bear is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. The family will also need to be vigilant when it comes to Bear’s tendency to seek out interesting things to eat. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Bear would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Bear has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Bear is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this handsome young boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the Chicago area and adopt our dogs only local to the area.
