Story
Jasper is a sweet, affectionate little puppy with a gentle personality and a curious heart. He loves exploring the world around him, playing with his toys, and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. Jasper has that classic puppy charm, playful, loving, and always ready to make new friends. Unlike some puppies who are constantly on the go, Jasper seems to have found that wonderful middle ground. He's playful and enjoys having fun, but he also knows how to relax and simply enjoy being with his people. While puppies this young are still developing their adult personalities, Jasper is already showing signs that he may grow into a calm, easygoing companion. At this age, he's the perfect blank slate, ready to bond with his new family and learn everything they have to teach him. Weight: Growing pup (expected medium size) Breed: Energy Level: Moderate, playful and active without being overly energetic Personality & Temperament: Sweet, friendly, affectionate, curious, and playful. Jasper enjoys exploring his surroundings, spending time with people, and playing with other dogs. He has a gentle, easygoing personality and is already showing signs of becoming a wonderful family companion. Compatibility: One of the biggest advantages of adopting a puppy at this age is that they are still developing their personalities and learning about the world around them. With proper guidance, socialization, and positive experiences, they grow into well-adjusted companions who adapt beautifully to a variety of homes, people, children, and other animals. Puppies this young are compatible with dogs, cats, and children because they are still in a critical stage of development and are eager to learn. At this age, they're more like a blank slate than a dog with established habits or preferences. The greater consideration is making sure the resident pets are accepting of a young puppy and that children understand how to gently and respectfully interact with one. Training & Skills: Jasper is still a young puppy and will need continued work with house manners, leash training, crate training, and basic obedience. Like all puppies, he will thrive with consistency, positive reinforcement, and daily routines. This is the ideal age for adopters to help shape him into a well-mannered adult dog. Special Skills: Professional cuddler, expert explorer, and always ready to investigate anything new. Jasper's curious nature and eagerness to learn will make training both fun and rewarding. Adoption Requirements (if applicable): Jasper will need a home committed to providing continued training, socialization, exercise, and plenty of love as he grows. A securely fenced yard is preferred but not required if his family can provide regular exercise and enrichment. Fun Facts / Quirks: Jasper believes every new day is an adventure waiting to happen. Whether he's discovering a new toy, following you around the yard, or curling up beside you after playtime, he's happiest simply being part of the family. If you're looking for a loving, well-balanced puppy with a sweet personality and a bright future ahead of him, Jasper is ready to become your new best friend. 👉 Apply today: Adoption Application Can Be Found Under The Forms Tab Adoption Fee - $485.00

Story
Ivy is one of those puppies that seems to sprinkle a little extra sweetness into every room she walks into. She's the kind of little girl who can be playful and silly one minute, then quietly snuggle up and melt into your lap the next. With her adorable puppy face and lovable personality, she has a way of making people fall for her almost immediately. Ivy is right in the middle of all the fun puppy stages — curious, playful, full of little adventures, and discovering the world one tiny paw step at a time. Whether she's romping around with her siblings, checking out something new, or collecting puppy kisses to hand out, she's enjoying every bit of growing up. Like all young puppies, Ivy is still learning all the important puppy life skills and will need continued training, patience, structure, and guidance as she grows. Her future family should expect normal puppy behaviors like chewing, accidents, zoomies, and those "I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing but I'm having fun doing it" moments that puppies are famous for. Watching a puppy grow and learn is one of the best parts of bringing one home, and Ivy is ready to start that journey with a family of her own. If you're looking for a playful little best friend with a sweet heart and lots of love to give, Ivy may be your girl. 💕

Story
Jewel is exactly what her name suggests, a true little gem. She has the sweetest, most loving personality and a gentle spirit that wins hearts almost instantly. Affectionate, kind, and incredibly endearing, Jewel has a calm, happy presence that makes everyone who meets her fall in love. She enjoys playing with her siblings and exploring the world around her, but she's just as content curling up beside you for cuddles and affection. Jewel has that wonderful balance of curiosity and gentleness, making her a joy to be around. While she's still very much a playful puppy, she already has a naturally sweet disposition that shines through in everything she does. Weight: Growing pup (expected medium size) Energy Level: Moderate – playful, curious, and well-balanced with a naturally gentle personality. Personality & Temperament: Sweet, affectionate, gentle, loving, curious, and friendly. Jewel has a kind heart and a soft, endearing personality that makes her an easy puppy to adore. She loves being around people, enjoys attention, and has a wonderful combination of playful puppy energy and quiet affection. She has the type of personality that makes an amazing lifelong family companion. Puppies this young are generally compatible with dogs, cats, and children because they are still in a critical stage of development and are eager to learn. At this age, they're essentially a blank slate, making it the ideal time to introduce them to new experiences and help shape them into confident, well-rounded adults. The greater consideration is ensuring resident pets are accepting of a young puppy and that children understand how to gently and respectfully interact with one. As with any new pet, introductions should always be gradual and supervised to help everyone adjust safely and successfully. Training & Skills: Jewel is still a young puppy and will need continued work with house manners, leash training, crate training, and basic obedience. Like all puppies, she'll thrive with consistency, positive reinforcement, and daily routines. This is the perfect age to build a strong foundation and help her become a confident, well-mannered adult. Special Skills: Professional cuddle expert and heart thief. Jewel has a special way of making people feel loved and has the kind of gentle personality that creates strong, lasting bonds with her family. Adoption Requirements (if applicable): Jewel will need a family committed to providing continued training, socialization, exercise, and plenty of love as she grows. A securely fenced yard is preferred but not required, provided her family can meet her physical and mental enrichment needs. Fun Facts / Quirks: Jewel has a way of making everyone she meets feel special. Whether she's gently asking for affection, happily following you around, or snuggling up after playtime, she reminds you that sometimes the sweetest moments are the simplest ones. Her loving personality is truly her greatest treasure. If you're looking for a puppy with a heart as beautiful as her name, Jewel is ready to bring a lifetime of love, loyalty, and happiness to her forever family. 👉 Apply today: Adoption Application Can Be Found Under the Forms Tab on our website

Story
Brucie is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive brindle coat. We estimate Brucie’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Brucie loves people and is very affectionate. Given his size and energy level, he would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Brucie! Brucie is very active and energetic, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained; he would not do well in a dog park or day care. An ideal home for Brucie is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. Brucie’s only “watch-out” is that he can be a bit of a resource guarder with his food and bones, but this issue can readily be managed as he gets to know his new family and as they learn more about him!! As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Brucie would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Brucie has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Brucie is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. BAARK is located in the Chicago area; we adopt our dogs only local to the Chicago area. If you are interested in adding Brucie to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Meet Bear: A Big-Hearted Brindle Beauty 🐾 Bear is a striking young Boxer mix with a gorgeous dark brindle coat and a personality as bold as his looks. Born around February 10, 2021, Bear is almost 5 years old and weighs about 60 lbs—full of energy and charm. 💙 Personality & Quirks: Bear is a people-loving pup who’s always eager for attention and affection. He’s not your typical chewer—but he does have a curious palate and has been known to sample rocks, sticks, and toys. His future family will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure he stays safe and avoids non-edible temptations. 🐕 Activity & Environment: Bear thrives in a secure, fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. He’s high-energy and sometimes gets a little carried away with his enthusiasm, so dog parks and daycare aren’t the best fit. He’s happiest as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Ideal Home: - Adults or families with children over 12 - Experience with large, energetic dogs - A commitment to ongoing training and structure - A safe environment free of tempting chewables Bear would flourish in a home that understands his playful spirit and is ready to guide him with patience and consistency. Obedience training will not only help him grow into his best self—it’ll be a wonderful bonding experience for his new family. 🩺 Health & Vetting: Bear is: - Fully vetted - Up to date on vaccinations - Neutered and microchipped - Heartworm negative and on year-round preventative 📍 Adoption Info Bear is being fostered through BAARK Dog Rescue, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We adopt locally within our area. If you’re ready to welcome Bear into your life and give him the forever home he deserves, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895.

Pete is the PERFECT dog. He is great with all dogs (male, female, puppy) in fact he is so laid back he has been getting bullied by more dominant males. He is the sweetest and most easy going boy. He is very gentle and calm. Pete is a short stocky boy, approximately 45lbs. He is prone to allergies, so he does need a special shampoo to help. If interested in adopting OR fostering Pete please check us out on FB or our website at tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org and fill out an application! Our best guess is he was born May ‘22

Norman is a 1 year old pittie/lab mix. He is extremely people friendly, loves everyone.. He loves his toys and is just a great pup all the way around. Norman is not house broken this will be the responsibility of the adopter as we are a shelter and unfortunately do not have time to individually house train all the dogs and puppies. This is an easy task with proper training and consistency though. He is a smart boy and would learn fast. If interested in adopting Norman the first step is to fill out our adoption application

Story
Our sweet Sasha girl was rescued from life on a heavy chain hooked to a trash can that was her ONLY shelter. She was abused and almost bred to death. When Tails took her and her babies in she was barely hanging on, she was a skeleton and was so weak she could barely lift her head. After several medications, fluids and a miracle she made a full turn around and she has thanked us daily for rescuing her. Love just radiates from her eyes and she is SO gentle with people. She is very well mannered, leash and crate trained. She potty’s outside if shes on a schedule. Sasha would thrive in a calm home with children over the age of 12 as loud rambunctious kids may trigger her. If you’re interested in adopting OR fostering Sasha please find us on FB or our website at tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org and fill out an application!
