Meet Prim! 🐾 This beauty is one loving soul. Her favorite thing to do is snuggle with her person. She's so full of life and ready to find her happily ever after. Shes not one to be a couch potatoe, this girl loved adventure. Are you the one? Age: ~ DOB 4/14/2024 Weight: ~40-45 lbs Breed: Likely Boxer mix (medium-sized, athletic) Energy Level: Very high - loves to run, jump, and play! Personality: Sweet, affectionate, people-loving, and playful. She’s very loyal and thrives on attention and activity. Other Dogs: Can be a bit selective and sometimes ornery with other dogs, so she’ll do best with a compatible dog friend or as the only dog. Cats: 🚫 Not good with cats - high prey drive. Special Traits: This girl is incredibly athletic! She can jump and climb like you wouldn’t believe, fences are no challenge for her. She’ll need a secure yard and someone who appreciates her adventurous spirit. Ideal Home: She needs an active home that can keep up with her energy and give her plenty of exercise. Perfect for someone who loves hiking, running, or outdoor activities. With training and structure, she’ll make an amazing companion. Adopters must be committed to keeping her on flea/tick (she has flea allergies so she must remain on monthly preventatives) and heartworm prevention, plus providing a safe, secure active environment. Whoever said you can’t pick your family never adopted a dog. Story
Brucie is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive brindle coat. We estimate Brucie’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Brucie loves people and is very affectionate. Given his size and energy level, he would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Brucie! Brucie is very active and energetic, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained; he would not do well in a dog park or day care. An ideal home for Brucie is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. Brucie’s only “watch-out” is that he can be a bit of a resource guarder with his food and bones, but this issue can readily be managed as he gets to know his new family and as they learn more about him!! As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Brucie would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Brucie has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Brucie is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. BAARK is located in the Chicago area; we adopt our dogs only local to the Chicago area. If you are interested in adding Brucie to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Meet Bear: A Big-Hearted Brindle Beauty 🐾 Bear is a striking young Boxer mix with a gorgeous dark brindle coat and a personality as bold as his looks. Born around February 10, 2021, Bear is almost 5 years old and weighs about 60 lbs—full of energy and charm. 💙 Personality & Quirks: Bear is a people-loving pup who’s always eager for attention and affection. He’s not your typical chewer—but he does have a curious palate and has been known to sample rocks, sticks, and toys. His future family will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure he stays safe and avoids non-edible temptations. 🐕 Activity & Environment: Bear thrives in a secure, fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. He’s high-energy and sometimes gets a little carried away with his enthusiasm, so dog parks and daycare aren’t the best fit. He’s happiest as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Ideal Home: - Adults or families with children over 12 - Experience with large, energetic dogs - A commitment to ongoing training and structure - A safe environment free of tempting chewables Bear would flourish in a home that understands his playful spirit and is ready to guide him with patience and consistency. Obedience training will not only help him grow into his best self—it’ll be a wonderful bonding experience for his new family. 🩺 Health & Vetting: Bear is: - Fully vetted - Up to date on vaccinations - Neutered and microchipped - Heartworm negative and on year-round preventative 📍 Adoption Info Bear is being fostered through BAARK Dog Rescue, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We adopt locally within our area. If you’re ready to welcome Bear into your life and give him the forever home he deserves, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895.

Story
Pete is the PERFECT dog. He is great with all dogs (male, female, puppy) in fact he is so laid back he has been getting bullied by more dominant males. He is the sweetest and most easy going boy. He is very gentle and calm. Pete is a short stocky boy, approximately 45lbs. He is prone to allergies, so he does need a special shampoo to help. If interested in adopting OR fostering Pete please check us out on FB or our website at tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org and fill out an application! Our best guess is he was born May ‘22

Story
Norman is a 1 year old pittie/lab mix. He is extremely people friendly, loves everyone.. He loves his toys and is just a great pup all the way around. Norman is not house broken this will be the responsibility of the adopter as we are a shelter and unfortunately do not have time to individually house train all the dogs and puppies. This is an easy task with proper training and consistency though. He is a smart boy and would learn fast. If interested in adopting Norman the first step is to fill out our adoption application

Story
Our sweet Sasha girl was rescued from life on a heavy chain hooked to a trash can that was her ONLY shelter. She was abused and almost bred to death. When Tails took her and her babies in she was barely hanging on, she was a skeleton and was so weak she could barely lift her head. After several medications, fluids and a miracle she made a full turn around and she has thanked us daily for rescuing her. Love just radiates from her eyes and she is SO gentle with people. She is very well mannered, leash and crate trained. She potty’s outside if shes on a schedule. Sasha would thrive in a calm home with children over the age of 12 as loud rambunctious kids may trigger her. If you’re interested in adopting OR fostering Sasha please find us on FB or our website at tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org and fill out an application!
