Story
Moe is a young Boxer mix with a big personality and a loving heart. He’s potty trained, crate trained, listens well, and does great with other dogs. Moe is generally good-natured and likes to stay close to his people—he enjoys being part of whatever’s going on. Moe loves toys and snuggles and has an active, playful side that will thrive with an engaged family. He would do best in an active home that can provide structure, exercise, and continued training. Because Moe can get mouthy during play, he should not be placed in a home with small children. Moe will need an experienced dog owner. While he shows no signs of aggression in daily life, he has reacted with little warning when medications are applied to his ears or skin during treatment for infections. Outside of these situations, he is affectionate and stable. His future family should be comfortable working with a veterinarian and using management strategies for medical care. One thing to note—Moe is curious and a known countertop surfer! Food should be kept out of reach, as he won’t hesitate to help himself if given the chance. Moe is looking for a knowledgeable, active home that understands his needs and will love him for the fun, loyal companion he is. With the right fit, Moe will be a devoted sidekick ready for adventure, play, and plenty of cuddle time.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
Ah some fresh air! A little walk, a couple of zoomies in a play yard and I’m ready for belly rubs. Then let’s walk a little more, some sniffing here and there and of course I always stop to look at people when they talk to me. I love all the attention I can get. So now that you are seeing my online picture, imagine me with my big head of your lap, relaxing with you and just enjoying all these special moments of being together. I’m not too much into sharing my people with other pets but that’s just because I have so much love to give. I’d prefer a home with not too much commotion. I’m also pretty smart – get me to sit and stay, throw a treat and then ask me to find it. I always succeed….I have to say that I really like food. My tail is wagging in anticipation of meeting my new family.

Story
Wobbles is a sweet, 4-5 year old pup looking for a forever home of his own. We are not quite sure of his breed but believe he is a Boxer mix. He is currently about 42 lbs. Wobbles ended up at an area Animal Control when his dad became homeless and could no longer care for him. His story is heartbreaking and when he arrived at the pound, they had felt that euthanasia was in his best interest; no one would likely rescue or adopt him. We learned of Wobbles one morning last July, the day he was scheduled to be euthanized at noon. We decided he could not die when he hardly lived! And within literally minutes of being euthanized, we got him to safety. Wobbles had been injured shortly after birth when his mom bit him and severely injured his jaw. The injury went untreated and eventually new bone growth caused his jaw to become almost fully fused. According to info from Animal Control, Wobbles had been surviving on soup all these years. This is why Animal Control had given Wobbles just 24 hours to find rescue. Fast forward to Dec 2025-Wobbles is thriving and you’d never know he had such a dramatic jaw injury! Once within our care, we were able to assess Wobbles’ situation. We identified a skilled canine dentist at the U of Wisconsin Madison. Under her care, Wobbles underwent an extensive jaw reconstruction in October. The operation has been a complete success, Wobbles has completely recovered, and he has ZERO special needs. Wobbles is now ready to move along to his forever home and family. He’s an absolutely awesome dog! He is wonderful with other dogs (not with cats though!) and he loves people including kids who have been taught to be respectful of animals. And……everyone who has met him on his journey of recovery and re-homing, has absolutely fallen in love with him. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round prevention, neutered and microchipped. And just had a much-needed dental cleaning with extractions. If you are interested in adding this perfect pup to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 for more information. Wobbles is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago. We adopt local to the Chicago area.

Story
Brucie is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive brindle coat. We estimate Brucie’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Brucie loves people and is very affectionate. Given his size and energy level, he would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Brucie! Brucie is very active and energetic, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained; he would not do well in a dog park or day care. An ideal home for Brucie is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. Brucie’s only “watch-out” is that he can be a bit of a resource guarder with his food and bones, but this issue can readily be managed as he gets to know his new family and as they learn more about him!! As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Brucie would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Brucie has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Brucie is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. BAARK is located in the Chicago area; we adopt our dogs only local to the Chicago area. If you are interested in adding Brucie to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Meet Bear: A Big-Hearted Brindle Beauty 🐾 Bear is a striking young Boxer mix with a gorgeous dark brindle coat and a personality as bold as his looks. Born around February 10, 2021, Bear is almost 5 years old and weighs about 60 lbs—full of energy and charm. 💙 Personality & Quirks: Bear is a people-loving pup who’s always eager for attention and affection. He’s not your typical chewer—but he does have a curious palate and has been known to sample rocks, sticks, and toys. His future family will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure he stays safe and avoids non-edible temptations. 🐕 Activity & Environment: Bear thrives in a secure, fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. He’s high-energy and sometimes gets a little carried away with his enthusiasm, so dog parks and daycare aren’t the best fit. He’s happiest as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Ideal Home: - Adults or families with children over 12 - Experience with large, energetic dogs - A commitment to ongoing training and structure - A safe environment free of tempting chewables Bear would flourish in a home that understands his playful spirit and is ready to guide him with patience and consistency. Obedience training will not only help him grow into his best self—it’ll be a wonderful bonding experience for his new family. 🩺 Health & Vetting: Bear is: - Fully vetted - Up to date on vaccinations - Neutered and microchipped - Heartworm negative and on year-round preventative 📍 Adoption Info Bear is being fostered through BAARK Dog Rescue, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We adopt locally within our area. If you’re ready to welcome Bear into your life and give him the forever home he deserves, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895.

Story
Meet Toots lovingly called Tootsie by her foster family, is a sweet and affectionate girl ready to find her forever home. She is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on a leash. While she does well with some dogs, she is selective and should not be placed in a home with cats or other small animals. Toots has a big heart for people—she loves cuddles, back and belly rubs, treats, and spending time with her foster mom (and anyone else she meets!). She’s a playful, fun girl with her own unique quirks—she’s not a fan of squirrels, apples, or peanut butter (we’re still figuring out that one!). Toots is currently receiving treatment for a skin allergy, and she has a minor eye difference—she doesn’t have eyelashes, but she doesn’t need surgery and it doesn’t slow down her sweet spirit at all. She’s a loving girl who kisses everyone she meets, enjoys being close to her person, and is protective of her home and loved ones. Toots came to us from Waukegan Animal Control, where she was known as Roxie and loved by all staff. She’s now ready for a fresh start under her new name, with a family who will love her quirks, her kisses, and her big, loyal heart. Story
Jasmine is a beautiful, shy girl who is already spayed, crate trained, and working on her potty training. She is good with other dogs and may even do well with cats. While she wants to play with canine friends, she’s still learning how to feel confident around them. Jasmine is very timid at first and can seem almost frozen in new situations. She needs a few days to warm up, but once she feels safe, her affectionate side blossoms. She absolutely loves attention—sometimes a little too much—and is currently working on building independence so she can feel secure even when she’s not being doted on. She does not appreciate strangers invading her space and needs someone who will respect her boundaries while helping her learn to trust. With patience, consistency, and gentle guidance, this sweet girl will continue coming out of her shell. Jasmine will thrive in a home with an adopter who has some experience with shy or anxious dogs or someone willing to learn. She’s eager for love, structure, and reassurance—and with the right person, she has the potential to become a truly devoted companion. If you’re ready to help a sensitive soul grow in confidence, Jasmine may be the perfect match. Story
Say "Hello" to Oakley! Oakley is a sweet, social puppy who’s as smart as he is adorable. He’s already potty trained and is currently working hard on his crate training and leash skills. He sleeps comfortably in his crate with the door open and continues to improve every day! This friendly boy loves snuggling, playing with other dogs, and running around the yard. He seems to enjoy children and other dogs, but because he’s still learning his puppy manners, a home without toddlers would be the best fit. Oakley would thrive with a family that has the time, patience, and energy to help him continue growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. He’s a quick learner, so staying one step ahead will help set him up for success. A puppy training class will be a must for this bright boy! If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who can’t wait to be part of your family, Oakley may be your perfect match!
