Story
Luke is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! Scroll through his pictures to see his cute video content! You may remember seeing Luke on our website before, as he was with us from October to February! He was adopted into a loving home, but recently returned due to his adopter's circumstances suddenly changing. We are sad that Luke is back at the shelter, but must admit that we do love having this little boy around. We make sure his days are fun-filled-- just look at all his playgroup videos! Luke is Mr. Popular. His nickname here is Luke Licky and that is because he has this habit of greeting all his dog friends with a free teeth cleaning courtesy of his tongue! He loves to lick his friends' mouths and snoots! Luke has had many roommates since he has been in our care. Currently, he is rooming with Xiomara. He loves having the companionship of a dog friend in his kennel and in life. Luke is a special and wonderful soul who has been looking for his permanent home for far too long. We hope his people will hurry up and find him, because he so deserves a place to call home. Since Luke has spent time in a foster home before being adopted, and then spent two months in an adoptive home, we do know a lot about him! We know that Luke will need a dog pal in order to thrive, so that is something we will require his adopters to have. We would only require that when absolutely needed, as we never want to put barriers up to adoption, but we do feel strongly he needs that. Luke: - crate trained - housebroken - A bit scared of kids, he will bark at them - takes food & treats SO GENTLY it's unreal - loves to curl up in bed with you - seriously so chill. Found his spot when we got home and has been so content there - loves to chew! - listens if he's told "no - great in the car - clearly loves other dogs even if they don't love him back - Boxer puppy eyes I mean COME ON - honestly just so polite and SWEET Luke's adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, is up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

Story
My name is Blossom, which seems appropriate because I love to be outside and go on walks sniffing everything my nose is drawn too. I have a lovely brown coat and to make me extra interesting, I have very distinct eyes. I'm about 3.5-months old and am expected to be a large dog between 50-60 lbs because I'm a Boxer/Feist mix. When not playing and wrestling with my sisters, I am napping after all... I'm still a baby with a lot to learn (where to potty, what is appropriate to chew, and most importantly how to be the best companion ever). If you are looking for a stunningly cute pup who will be a stunningly beautiful dog, I'm your girl. Make sure to put in an application and then plan on meeting me in person to see how special I truly am.Interested in adopting this dog? Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog's individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don't know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!

Story
My name is Akira, but I'm not an animated cyberpunk, I'm a loving puppy who wants pets and belly rubs. I have a lovely black coat, with a white stripe that goes into a white muzzle and to make me extra interesting, I have 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye. I'm about 3.5-months old and am expected to be a large dog between 50-60 lbs because I'm a Boxer/Feist mix. My favorite toy is anything my sisters are playing with, When not playing and wrestling with my sisters, I am napping after all... I'm still a baby with a lot to learn (where to potty, what is appropriate to chew, and most importantly how to be the best companion ever). I am still learning about the outside world, cars and trucks frighten me, so I will need to work on exploring that bit by bit.If you are looking for a shy but stunningly cute pup who will be a stunningly beautiful dog, I'm your girl. My name is Rita, and no - I do not check meters! I have a lovely black coat with a white stripe down my nose and to make me extra interesting, I have stunning blue eyes. I'm about 3.5-months old and am expected to be a large dog between 50-60 lbs because I'm a Boxer/Feist mix. I do have an interesting habit in that I like my meals in bed. I will pick up my food bowl (leaving quite the trail of food that falls out) and take it to a bed where I will plop it down and then eat in a resting position. Hey, eating should be a leisurely event. When not playing and wrestling with my sisters, I am napping after all... I'm still a baby with a lot to learn (where to potty, what is appropriate to chew, and most importantly how to be the best companion ever). I do like my food and prefer to have it all to myself, but ask yourself, do you like to share? If you are looking for a quirky but cute pup who will be a quirky but beautiful dog, I'm your girl. My name is Felecia, now before you go saying bye, let me tell you why I am such a great choice for a pup. I have a lovely black coat and beautiful brown eyes that give the best "puppy eyes." I'm about 3.5-months old and am expected to be a large dog between 50-60 lbs because I'm a Boxer/Feist mix. When not playing and wrestling with my sisters, I am napping after all... I'm still a baby with a lot to learn (where to potty, what is appropriate to chew, and most importantly how to be the best companion ever).
