Luke is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! Scroll through his pictures to see his cute video content! You may remember seeing Luke on our website before, as he was with us from October to February! He was adopted into a loving home, but recently returned due to his adopter's circumstances suddenly changing. We are sad that Luke is back at the shelter, but must admit that we do love having this little boy around. We make sure his days are fun-filled-- just look at all his playgroup videos! Luke is Mr. Popular. His nickname here is Luke Licky and that is because he has this habit of greeting all his dog friends with a free teeth cleaning courtesy of his tongue! He loves to lick his friends' mouths and snoots! Luke has had many roommates since he has been in our care. Currently, he is rooming with Xiomara. He loves having the companionship of a dog friend in his kennel and in life. Luke is a special and wonderful soul who has been looking for his permanent home for far too long. We hope his people will hurry up and find him, because he so deserves a place to call home. Since Luke has spent time in a foster home before being adopted, and then spent two months in an adoptive home, we do know a lot about him! We know that Luke will need a dog pal in order to thrive, so that is something we will require his adopters to have. We would only require that when absolutely needed, as we never want to put barriers up to adoption, but we do feel strongly he needs that. Luke: - crate trained - housebroken - A bit scared of kids, he will bark at them - takes food & treats SO GENTLY it's unreal - loves to curl up in bed with you - seriously so chill. Found his spot when we got home and has been so content there - loves to chew! - listens if he's told "no - great in the car - clearly loves other dogs even if they don't love him back - Boxer puppy eyes I mean COME ON - honestly just so polite and SWEET Luke's adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, is up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our sweet boy Sherman. He is a gentle soul that enjoys being around his people. Sherman likes to play for a short time. He would do best in a home with an older dog that is as relaxed as him. He does pick the dogs he is most comfortable around and he definitely wouldn't enjoy an energetic puppy. If you are interested in meeting Sherman, the first step is to go to our website www.adoggie4you.org and complete an application for him.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cin c innati, Lexington KY,     or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 22, 2024, 5:17 pm

I'd make the ideal companion for a family that loves to keep moving! Do you enjoy running, hiking, camping, boating, or any adventure under the sun? Well, guess what? Story
Hi there, I'm Precious. They say that I am called this because I am the most precious dog here at God's Dogs Rescue. I came to the rescue in October of 2022 to have a safe place for me to have and raise my puppies. All my puppies were adopted by the end of January 2023, but I am still here looking for my furever home. I am a bigger girl, but this just means there is more of me to cuddle you, because I love cuddling it's one of my top 3 favorite things. 1) Food- I love food and will do almost anything you ask if you have a treat involved. 2) Cuddles- on your lap, on the couch, in the bed wherever there is a comfy space with pillows or a human I want to be there. 3) Kisses- I have a love of giving kisses to people, especially kids. Although not everyone likes it when I try to kiss them and that makes me sad. 4) Honorable mention- I like going on walks or in the car for a ride, although I prefer just lazing around at home. My current fosters say that I am a "house hippo with springs in my feet whatever that means; I just know sometimes, when I get super happy, I feel like I could fly- or jump really high. I love their kids and am very good with them even the tiny ones. I get along with most other dogs I meet, although I have a big personality about me, because I'm a boss, so sometimes other dogs don't like that about me. I tolerate cats although if they give me too much attitude or growl at me, I can't help but to give them piece of my mind. I like most new people I meet although I had a rough start in life so sometimes, I can be a little wary with men, with time though I adjust, and we can become best friends forever. A few more little details about me: I am 3 years old I am a Boxer/Shepherd mix I am great with kids I am good with Cats and Dogs I am crate-trained I am housebroken I can be adopted in Texas or anywhere in the US too! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Bear is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive dark brindle coat. We estimate Bear’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Bear loves people and he also loves eating almost anything. He is not so much a chewer, as a dog who likes to eat rocks, sticks, toys. As such, his new family will need to be vigilant to ensure Bear does not get himself into trouble, ingesting non-food items! Bear is active and energetic, typical of a big, young dog, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained (but, watch out for him eating rocks, sticks, etc!!); he would not do well in a dog park or day care. We suggest he be an only dog. Given his size and energy level, Bear would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Bear! An ideal home for Bear is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. The family will also need to be vigilant when it comes to Bear’s tendency to seek out interesting things to eat. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Bear would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Bear has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Bear is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this handsome young boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the Chicago area and adopt our dogs only local to the area.

Story
Talk about enthusiasm for life! This is Capone. He goes from full-tilt mid-air toy-catching mode to champion snuggling in no time flat. Yes, he's a meatball. Chunky headed, slobbery, and built like a Mack truck. But Capone's heart is pure gold and his big, brown, puppy dog eyes...well, you'll have to come see for yourself. This boy is all about the toys. His pink ball -- ideal for catching in mid-air, and a favorite stuffie -- for carrying on walks. A fenced-in yard for games of fetch would be ideal. Because what is life, if not fun, right?Exceedingly treat-motivated, Capone is a good learner. He is house-trained and knows several commands. He would prefer to be the only dog in his household because he's still working on his manners with other dogs. No cats for him - they're too much fun to chase. Capone enjoys playing with older children, but little kids might inadvertently get bowled over! He loves, loves, loves car rides and is a good passenger. When done playing, this handsome lug is ready for some serious cuddling. Get ready for slobbery kisses, because Capone has loads of love to share.Need a reminder that life is equal parts fun and love? Capone will show you how to live life to its fullest.Interested in adopting this dog? Meet Basil! This young adult is an easy-going boy ready to find a family to call his own. Basil has already mastered some of the important things - he is potty trained, happy to be in his crate and walks well on the leash and he LOVES food so additional training should be a breeze.Basil has yet to meet a dog he doesn't like and would be happy to have another dog in the home though he also hasn't met a person he doesn't like and loves attention from them as well. Getting ready to hang on the couch to watch tv, Basil will be right there with you......happily invading your personal space and most likely on top of you if allowed. Are you ready to add this lovable guy to your family?Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Korra is a 52-pound pittie with a petite frame and a personality that's larger than life! Fully housebroken and impeccably well-mannered, Korra has never had an accident in her foster home. She's a social butterfly with other dogs, happily sharing her toys and playing with a joyous spirit. Whether she's romping around the yard with her favorite toys or chasing after cicadas, Korra knows how to have a good time.Korra's sweet and kind nature shines through, even though she might come off as a bit aloof at first due to her independent streak. Give her a little time, and you'll see her affectionate side emerge. She loves pulling squeakers out of toys and enjoys a good chew on Nylabones, turkey tendons, and bison taffy. YUM!Crate time is a breeze for Korra-she's quiet and content even when other dogs are out and about. Car rides are calm with her preferring to lounge on the floor of the back seat. Korra is a gentle soul who rarely barks, only doing so to invite you to play. A little pulling on the leash doesn't stop her from being an easy and enjoyable walking companion. Korra has brought so much joy to her foster home, proving herself to be a truly special and unique pup!Interested in adopting this dog?
