Story
Wobbles is a sweet, 4-5 year old pup looking for a forever home of his own. We are not quite sure of his breed but believe he is a Boxer mix. He is currently about 42 lbs. Wobbles ended up at an area Animal Control when his dad became homeless and could no longer care for him. His story is heartbreaking and when he arrived at the pound, they had felt that euthanasia was in his best interest; no one would likely rescue or adopt him. We learned of Wobbles one morning last July, the day he was scheduled to be euthanized at noon. We decided he could not die when he hardly lived! And within literally minutes of being euthanized, we got him to safety. Wobbles had been injured shortly after birth when his mom bit him and severely injured his jaw. The injury went untreated and eventually new bone growth caused his jaw to become almost fully fused. According to info from Animal Control, Wobbles had been surviving on soup all these years. This is why Animal Control had given Wobbles just 24 hours to find rescue. Fast forward to Dec 2025-Wobbles is thriving and you’d never know he had such a dramatic jaw injury! Once within our care, we were able to assess Wobbles’ situation. We identified a skilled canine dentist at the U of Wisconsin Madison. Under her care, Wobbles underwent an extensive jaw reconstruction in October. The operation has been a complete success, Wobbles has completely recovered, and he has ZERO special needs. Wobbles is now ready to move along to his forever home and family. He’s an absolutely awesome dog! He is wonderful with other dogs (not with cats though!) and he loves people including kids who have been taught to be respectful of animals. And……everyone who has met him on his journey of recovery and re-homing, has absolutely fallen in love with him. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round prevention, neutered and microchipped. And just had a much-needed dental cleaning with extractions. If you are interested in adding this perfect pup to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 for more information. Wobbles is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago. We adopt local to the Chicago area.

Story
Brucie is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive brindle coat. We estimate Brucie’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Brucie loves people and is very affectionate. Given his size and energy level, he would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Brucie! Brucie is very active and energetic, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained; he would not do well in a dog park or day care. An ideal home for Brucie is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. Brucie’s only “watch-out” is that he can be a bit of a resource guarder with his food and bones, but this issue can readily be managed as he gets to know his new family and as they learn more about him!! As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Brucie would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Brucie has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Brucie is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. BAARK is located in the Chicago area; we adopt our dogs only local to the Chicago area. If you are interested in adding Brucie to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Meet Bear: A Big-Hearted Brindle Beauty 🐾 Bear is a striking young Boxer mix with a gorgeous dark brindle coat and a personality as bold as his looks. Born around February 10, 2021, Bear is almost 5 years old and weighs about 60 lbs—full of energy and charm. 💙 Personality & Quirks: Bear is a people-loving pup who’s always eager for attention and affection. He’s not your typical chewer—but he does have a curious palate and has been known to sample rocks, sticks, and toys. His future family will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure he stays safe and avoids non-edible temptations. 🐕 Activity & Environment: Bear thrives in a secure, fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. He’s high-energy and sometimes gets a little carried away with his enthusiasm, so dog parks and daycare aren’t the best fit. He’s happiest as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Ideal Home: - Adults or families with children over 12 - Experience with large, energetic dogs - A commitment to ongoing training and structure - A safe environment free of tempting chewables Bear would flourish in a home that understands his playful spirit and is ready to guide him with patience and consistency. Obedience training will not only help him grow into his best self—it’ll be a wonderful bonding experience for his new family. 🩺 Health & Vetting: Bear is: - Fully vetted - Up to date on vaccinations - Neutered and microchipped - Heartworm negative and on year-round preventative 📍 Adoption Info Bear is being fostered through BAARK Dog Rescue, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We adopt locally within our area. If you’re ready to welcome Bear into your life and give him the forever home he deserves, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895.

Story
We got Norman as a 6 month old puppy from a friend. He has transitioned with us going from a married couple to a married couple with kids. Norman has always been a very high energy and high anxiety dog, even as a puppy. We thought he would be a great family dog until he, on multiple occasions, started snapping at our son. He has never broken skin but he has left marks. He has also been banned from the couch because he growls at the baby when she tries to get up. We're not sure when things changed but we are not currently able to cater to what he needs.Norman is a farm dog through and through. He absolutely loves running in an open field, chasing a vehicle and a vacuum and diving face and or butt first under a pile of blankets.Norman is the best boy that needs a family that moves slow in the house, but fast outside. Loves kids that arent his own and will get along with certain dogs. He LOVES the car as much as he hates water and getting his nails clipped.

Story
Meet Peanut- Your Shadow, Cuddle Buddy, and Resident Love BugHe is house trained, trusted to roam freely, and is the happiest when he is in eyesight of his human… even in the bathroom. Peanut does not believe in privacy. He is a gentle walker who occasionally gets distracted by squirrels and blowing leaves. At home, squirrels are his favorite thing to chase, and if one runs up a tree, Peanut will stand guard long after it’s gone… just in case. Peanut is kid-friendly and dog-friendly. He loves to cuddle with his humans. His favorite way to nap is on his back, feet in the air, mouth open. Peanut is a fast learner who has already mastered sit, down, paw, and come. He has excellent recall when told to come inside… even if he is locked in on a squirrel. Peanut is still getting fully comfortable in a crate, though he will settle after about 20 minutes. If you are looking for a loyal, sweet “lap dog”, Charles “Peanut” Tillman might be perfect for you!Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Coal is a 4-year-old Pit Bull with the energy of burning charcoal, always fired up for play and adventure. He`s an avid frisbee enthusiast and carries his favorite red disc with him everywhere he goes. He loves going on long walks and playing fetch at the park, or getting a drink at the water fountain. When he`s not chasing frisbees or going for walks, Coal loves to relax in the sun. He`ll often be found sunbathing in the yard, soaking up the rays. While Coal loves to play and run, he also knows how to relax. He`s a gentle giant who loves to snuggle on the couch. He makes for a great heater when these fall days start to get chilly! He`s been great with other dogs, including the resident senior male pit mix and a young female basset hound. He`s especially fond of playing tug-of-war and chase with his foster sister. This handsome boy is eager to please and has mastered a variety of commands and tricks, including sit, down, heel, off, paw, place, settle, and speak, especially when there`s peanut butter involved. He`s also crate trained and enjoys his nightly wind-downs in his cozy crate.Coal is a people-pleaser, but his enthusiasm can sometimes get the best of him. We think he`d do best with older kids who can handle his playful energy. He`s looking for an active family who can provide him with plenty of exercise and love.Interested in adopting this dog? Edison is the utmost, regal gentleman and chill dog according to his foster mom. He will lounge through noise and chaos and is fine sleeping in a crate after settling down. He has been a respectful houseguest and not gotten into any trouble. Still a young boy, this large and friendly guy walks well on a harness and is redirected with treats when needed. He likes the yard, though is not so sure about snow just yet. Edison is very food motivated which has helped him quickly learn to sit and give a paw. He`s ready for his forever family to continue training. This adorable guy grumbles cutely to get attention and has been just a wonderful companion. He is cooperative everywhere, even the vet, barking only when appropriate, Edison will be a fantastic addition to a family who seeks a larger dog. He sure has the charm and manners for a lucky family looking for a sweet gentleman.Interested in adopting this dog?
