Story
Meet Rosie!Rosie is a beautiful 1–2 year old girl with a resilient spirit and a heart that’s learning how wonderful indoor life can be. She first appeared on a patio with her kittens, doing her best to care for them on her own. Since being welcomed into a foster home, Rosie has safely raised her babies and is now ready for a forever home of her own.Rosie quickly discovered that she loves the comforts of indoor living—cozy naps, regular meals, and kind human companionship. Because of her past, she’s still a bit food-motivated and may curiously check out what you’re eating, but she’s also learning her house manners more every day. She uses her litter box perfectly and truly enjoys affection from her people.Once she trusts you, Rosie is incredibly sweet and loving. She’ll rub up against you for pets, happily accept chin and cheek scratches, and knead away with contentment while making biscuits. She even enjoys curling up next to her person at night, making her a wonderful companion.Rosie has a playful, youthful side and loves to chase toys and burn off her energy. She can have a little “spicy” personality when she’s feeling especially enthusiastic, but she’s never aggressive—just expressive! Because of this, she would thrive with an adopter who understands cat behavior and can read her cues. While Rosie is curious about other cats, she would do best as the only feline in the home where she can soak up all the attention. She has been comfortable around a respectful, cat-friendly dog and could potentially share her space with one. With her glossy coat, striking eyes, and adorable tiny meow when it’s mealtime, Rosie is as charming as she is beautiful. She’s tested, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped—completely ready to start her next chapter.Rosie is available through our Portland adoption ambassador To learn more email Patricia at dpcadams@comcast.netFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 17, 2026, 6:35 am

Story
Meet Cayenne — A beautiful torbie (tabby with a splash of orange) girl with a little dash of spice and a whole lot of love. When Cayenne first arrived at the shelter, she was understandably scared and unsure of people. After everything she had been through, her “spicy” side was really just fear and uncertainty.Cayenne was heartbreakingly abandoned after her previous owner moved away, left behind to survive in deplorable conditions. During that difficult time, she lost weight and some of her fur, but despite it all, she has never lost her gentle spirit. Now that she’s safe and cared for, Cayenne has truly blossomed. She has become incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager for attention. She loves gentle pets, cozy places to nap, and simply being near people who make her feel secure. With patience, kindness, and a loving home, Cayenne will reward her person with endless affection and companionship. This resilient girl deserves a fresh start with someone who will never leave her behind again. Could you be the one to give Cayenne the safe, loving forever home she’s been waiting for?Adoption fee includes:✅ Spay/Neuter✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Cayenne?Email us at: adoption@columbiahumane.org to request an application.Adoption Fee: $175For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 17, 2026, 6:35 am

Story
Meet Mabel: The Tiny Tiger with a Big Heart Mabel is a beautiful 1–2 year old tabby who has perfected the art of being equal parts athlete and cuddle bug. When playtime begins, this girl is all action! She launches herself into the air after her feather wand toy, races across the room during her zoomies, and loves a good game of hide-and-seek with her toys tucked under blankets. Watching Mabel play is like having your own personal feline Olympics. But once the games are over, Mabel transforms into a sweetheart who melts for head pets, chin scratches, and cheek rubs. She'll dramatically flop onto the floor beside you, requesting more attention, and happily meows when her favorite person walks into the room. Churu treats are also high on her list of life's greatest joys.Mabel has experienced a lot of change in a short time and will need a patient, cat-savvy adopter who understands that trust takes time. New people can be scary for her, and she'll likely hide at first. But beneath that cautious exterior is a cat who deeply craves affection and companionship. Her foster has watched her blossom from a frightened kitty into a loving companion, and it has been incredibly rewarding. We believe Mabel would do best as an only pet where she can be the center of someone's world. Once she trusts you, she'll form a special bond and become the devoted best friend you've been waiting for.✨ Spayed✨ Vaccinated✨ Microchipped✨ Ready for her forever homeIf you have the patience to help Mabel settle in and the heart to love a cat who will truly love you back, please contact Patricia at: dpcadams@comcast.net❤️ Some cats are instant companions. Mabel is the kind of cat whose love is earned—and that makes it all the more special. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 17, 2026, 6:35 am
