Story
Tookins is SUCH a sweet and loving girl! She's been friendly and social since the moment I brought her home. She likes to lay on me on the couch and sleeps next to me in bed. Also, she often touches my face so sweetly with her paw and it melts my heart. Tookins has beautiful, unique markings and very soft fur. She also does well riding in the car in a kennel. Tookins plays with toys a bit. One of her favorites is the round track with the ball and the scratching mat inside. She's also been a hoot to watch as she bats around a strip of fleece or a small stuffed mouse. Lately she's been getting the zoomies from time to time which is also pretty fun to watch! She has done well with the small dogs in the house. They don't snuggle or play much, but they're all very comfortable around each other. I also had a very shy foster kitten for a couple weeks at the start. The kitten loved Tookins, but it took her much of the time to warm up to the kitten. She preferred to roam the house with the dogs, although towards the end I'd find her laying on the futon next to the catio (where the kitten was). Tookins is carrying some extra weight, so I'm careful about measuring her food and avoiding extra treats. Our vet team also found that she has a heart murmur and some slightly abnormally-formed kidneys. Luckily both issues are very mild at the moment and not causing any problems or needing medication. However, her kidneys may put her at a higher risk for developing early renal disease. She'll need bloodwork and a urinalysis done every 6 months to monitor her kidneys so any changes can be caught and addressed right away. She'll also need yearly echocardiograms to monitor her heart, and again catch any issues early on. We understand that not all families will feel comfortable committing to these regular tests for the duration of her life, and that's ok. I know there's a perfect family out there for her that will, and I'm happy to keep loving on her till we find them. She's only two years old and deserves the best chance we can give her at a long and healthy life! Tookins- has 2 congenital abnormalities to make sure are noted. -Mild tricuspid valve insufficiency -Mild renal dysplasia She does not need any medications or special diets at this time. She should have her heart echoed again in 1 year, and possibly yearly after that. She should also have her kidney values and a urine checked every 6 months to monitor her kidneys as she is at risk for developing renal disease with her kidneys being abnormal.

Story
History: We received a plea from a local supporter of ours with a litter of 5 kittens needing a second chance. They were able to be spayed/neutered at a local SNIP clinic and were surrendered to rescue from there. They are polydactyl (extra toes) and extremely sweet kittens, each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon! *Please note: This kitten has been ‘ear-tipped’, this is part of a process within a program called “TNR” (Trap, Neuter, and Return). At the time of this kitten’s sterilization, it was thought they may have to be returned to the colony. In an effort to reduce stray cats and control cat colonies; organizations trap and then sterilize members of the colony so that they are not able to procreate, they then ‘ear-tip’ any of those they sterilize as an identifier that they have been fixed – this acts as a visible sign even from far away that this cat does not need to be trapped/trapped again. This procedure is painless to the kittens; it occurs when they are under anesthesia for their sterilization. A note from the foster:‍ ‍🚋 Meet the L-Train Kittens: Lola, Lexi, Libby, Lizzy & Louie! 🚋 This delightful bunch of tabby, polydactyl kittens came from a local colony and have blossomed into the sweetest, funniest little crew. They’re playful, mischievous, affectionate—and ready for forever homes! 💛 Louie – A total lover boy whose purr (his little motor!) never stops. He adores people and will happily soak up every cuddle he can get. 🧡 Lola – The smallest of the group but mighty in spirit. She has absolutely stunning coloring and a big, brave personality to match. 🤎 Lexi – A gentle, gorgeous long-haired beauty. Soft, sweet, and elegant—she brings calm sweetness wherever she goes. 💗 Libby & Lizzy – These two are sweet, sassy sisters with big personalities and lots of charm. They’re playful, social, and full of fun. Together, they’re joyful, curious, and guaranteed to make you smile. Tip: Consider adopting two for double the entertainment and double the love. ❤️ Hop on the L-Train and let one (or more!) of these wonderful kittens steal your heart!

Story
History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A note from the foster:‍ ‍Rusty wants only one thing out of life…LOVE! And he wants ALL of the love ❤️ And he also gives all of the love! Ok, maybe he wants two things out of life…love and food! He has a big appetite and he gobbles up whatever is in front of him. But can you blame him, prior to this week he didn’t have a consistent food source. Rusty has been doing great in my home with several other cats and small dogs. He is completely unbothered by dogs and pretty much just ignores the other cats for now. That may change with time once they accept him a little more. Otherwise, he’s pretty happy exploring on his own, and soaking up all the love and attention from me! He will rub his face all over mine, and curl up on me. If you’re looking for a little love bug, Rusty is definitely your guy ❤️
