Story
My heart is broken as I post this, I rescued Piper as a kitten in July of 2020. He was an additional brother to my senior cat and they became best friends fast. He is very sweet but also very shy. He is not aggressive, but will be nervous in a new environment. It breaks my heart to put him in this situation but I recently became pregnant and now have allergies that have become harmful to me. I am desperate to find him a loving home because he deserves that. Other than being shy to new people he has no behavioral issues. He is very sweet and would make a great addition to a loving home. Because he is shy I would say he will probably adapt better in a a home without children. However, he has always just hidden from my niece’s and nephews, but never shown any aggression. He is well loved and will be so dearly missed. Please if you are interested let me know, all I want is to find him a good home.

Story
We are currently fostering Kitty for a friend that got her from the Humane Society in Nov. 2026, then could not keep her. She is 1 year and 4 mo. old, has all vaccines, and is spayed. Our dog will not stop trying to attack her, so we need to find a good home for her. All medical records provided. We will include the fully enclosed litterbox, litter, food, scratching post, backpack cat carrier, food and water bowls. She wants to be wherever you are and is interested in whatever you are doing. Ideally someone who works from home as she is young and likes 20 - 30 minute play sessions and has a high prey drive. She will let you know when she has had enough pets. She likes people and prefers women. We would recommend no small children as she likes to dictate contact. She is very sweet and will vocalize when she sees you and is very curious.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMr. Ginger is a total love bug! He loves chin and head scratches. Quite the vocal and silly little guy. He loves the treat bag sound and he has successfully gained weight. Will zoomie around the house despite his weird legs! The fosters have been finding him up on the couch even. We can’t seem to fully knock out his little goopy eye, but it comes and goes. The meloxicam has helped him settle in a bit more. He takes it like a champ in the mornings. The foster created a litter box out of a storage tote with the side cut out and using pee pads with him because he has gotten into the habit of just putting his front end in the litter box and not the back (Photo's of set up available upon request). He is doing well with the vinyl and carpet but we would recommend single level home or minimal stairs. He goes down stairs fine but struggles going up. He can be testy still if he doesn't like the way you are touching him, he needs a no child home.  If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus tax Did you order a new weighted blanket?Because Victor has arrived. Victor is 15 pounds of pure muscle, love, and extremely committed cuddling. He’s a classic Velcro cat: big, a little clumsy, kind of lazy, and very affectionate. He firmly believes laps are mandatory, eye contact is a binding contract for pets, and that one hand petting him is simply unacceptable (both hands, please). Bonus feature: extra toes for next-level biscuit making! His hobbies include: Chasing the laser pointer… without standing up Cuddling (professionally) Demanding pets while already being pet Napping Snacks (obviously) Victor doesn’t mind being picked up, carried around, or generally worshipped like the king he is. If you look at him, his lawyer tells him you are legally obligated to pet him. Victor came to rescue as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He’s a big, handsome black tom with the most adorable jowls—earned from his time as an unneutered outdoor cat. His torn ears are souvenirs from those days, and during that time he also contracted FIV. Since coming into care, Victor has cleared an opportunistic infection, transitioned to a high-quality diet with supplements, and is now healthy, strong, and thriving. FIV-positive cats can live long, happy lives just like non-infected cats. With regular vet care, good nutrition, and an indoor lifestyle, Victor is expected to bring joy (and significant body heat) to his future family for many years. FIV is only spread through deep bite wounds from fighting—Victor has done well with calm, submissive cats but has shown he’d rather not live with other assertive males. For that reason, we recommend Victor be an only cat, where he can soak up all the love he deserves. If you’re looking for a devoted cuddle buddy, a built-in weighted blanket, and a cat who will love you very loudly, Victor is your guy.   https://iheartcats.com/5-reasons-to-consider-adopting-an-fiv-cat/  If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.
