I’m Riley, a one-year-old solid grey male cat with a soft heart and an even softer purr. I arrived at Animal Ark with six of my feline friends after our owner suddenly found themselves with more animals than they could care for. It’s been a big change, and I’m still finding my footing, but every day I’m learning that this new chapter comes with kindness: warm meals, cozy beds, and gentle voices reminding me I’m safe. My previous owner described me as shy, quiet, and wonderfully easygoing. I melt for slow, gentle scratches and love simple joys — especially catnip mice, and little rolling balls that I can chase at my own pace. I’ve done well around other cats, though I haven’t met dogs or young children yet. Because of my sensitive nature, a calm home with older kids would help me feel most secure. If you’re thinking about adopting a pair, I’d be thrilled to go home with one of my friends — Arlo, River, Roger, Patience, Pandora, or Pearl. I was especially close to Arlo in my temporary home, and we’d make a lovely duo. I came to the rescue with my siblings Gracie, Athena, and our brother, after we were found in a small trailer park doing our best to stay safe together. We didn’t have much, but we had each other, and that helped us stay brave until help arrived. Now we’re living in a foster home, and every day I grow a little more confident. I’m shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’m friendly, sweet, and full of quiet affection. I love watching the world from a cozy spot, learning new things at my own pace, and leaning into gentle pets when I’m ready. I`m Jett, a 2-year-old solid black cat originally adopted from Animal Ark as a kitten. I was in a multi-cat household for over a year and got along with everyone except my sibling, a very shy female. We were adopted together, but at some point, we were no longer friends. My family tried to make things work, but for the good of everyone involved, human and feline, I came back to the shelter for a fresh start. In my previous home, my other cat roommates were a male around my age and a senior female. We got along well, cuddled and played together. Going forward, my cat friends will have to be assertive enough to not allow me to be too bossy. I was recently in a foster home for several weeks, where I showed a little too much interest in the birds and small animal pets in their home. Let me introduce myself--I`m Kennedy, a domestic short-haired cat with dilute calico markings, estimated at about four years of age. No surprise that I`m a female--we calicos are almost always girls! When I turned up in a neighborhood and appeared to be without a home, a compassionate individual made sure I got to Animal Ark and out of harm`s way. Now I`m getting lots of good food, attention and affection from the staff and volunteers, and I`m hoping to find a home where I can relax and enjoy life. I can`t go to a home with other felines. My history with dogs is unknown. I do have kidney disease, but don`t let that scare you - I`m on a special diet and doing well! I just need someone who`s willing to help me stay healthy and loved. I`d be pleased to make your acquaintance if you think I might be a good fit for your home.
