Story
I’m Everest — a soft brown tabby with gentle eyes and a heart that’s been waiting a long time to feel safe again. I’m about four years old, though the truth is, life outside made time feel a little blurry. A kind woman found me wandering and gave me shelter in her garage for two whole months. She fed me, spoke softly to me, and reminded me what kindness feels like. She called me shy, playful, and quiet — and she wasn’t wrong. No one really knows what my life was like before that. Whether I lived with children, dogs, or other cats is a bit of a mystery, even to me. But the staff at Animal Ark have learned who I am now: a gentle soul who doesn’t ask for much, just a calm voice, a soft hand, and a little patience. When someone talks to me, I can’t help but come closer. I lean into their touch. I remember what it feels like to belong. My time outdoors left its mark — I lost the tips of both ears to the cold. But now they give me a sweet, quirky look, almost like I’m wearing a tiny cap. People smile when they see me, and I like that. I think I’d thrive best in a quiet adult home, where I can feel safe and unhurried. Older children who understand boundaries would be just fine. I don’t need a busy household or other animals around me — just someone who wants a loyal, peaceful companion. If your heart is looking for a soft, steady presence — a cat who will return your affection with quiet, unwavering love — come meet me. I’ve been waiting for someone like you.

Story
I’m Pandora, a 1 1/2-year-old dilute torti girl with a soft heart and an even softer purr. I arrived at Animal Ark with six of my feline friends after our owner suddenly found themselves with more animals than they could care for. It’s been a big change, and I’m still finding my footing, but every day I’m learning that this new chapter comes with kindness: warm meals, cozy beds, and gentle voices reminding me I’m safe. My previous owner described me as shy and quiet. My favorite toy in my temporary foster home was a three-tier ball track toy. I’ve done well around other cats, though I haven’t met dogs or young children yet. Because of my sensitive nature, a calm home with older kids would help me feel most secure. If you’re thinking about adopting a pair, I’d be thrilled to go home with one of my friends — Riley, River, Roger, Patience, Arlo, or Pearl. If your family is ready for a new adventure — one filled with quiet companionship, gentle affection, and the joy of helping a sweet girl blossom — come meet me at Animal Ark. I’m waiting for someone who sees the potential in a tender soul like me.

Story
I’m Violet—a petite, one-year-old black cat with a soft coat, a curious heart, and a story that’s taken a few unexpected turns. When my family moved away, they left without me. I didn’t understand why the door closed and didn’t open again. I waited, hoping someone would come back for me. But instead, a kind neighbor found me. She saw that I was alone and made sure I wasn’t forgotten. She brought me to Animal Ark, and that’s when everything began to change. Here, I’ve discovered what it feels like to be safe again—regular meals, warm blankets, gentle hands, and voices that speak to me with kindness. I’m still settling in, but every day I feel a little braver, a little more myself. I’m a friendly, playful girl who loves people. I’ve lived with children before and did well with them. I’m NOT tolerant of other cats, so I`ll need to be the only feline in my new home! Dogs… well, they’re a bit overwhelming for me, and I usually choose to slip away quietly. I’m not dramatic about it—I just know what makes me comfortable. What I want now is simple: a family who will treasure me, protect me, and never let me feel abandoned again. I’m ready to give my whole heart to someone who will make me part of their forever. If you think we might be meant for each other, come meet me. I’ll be waiting, hoping the next chapter of my life begins with you.

Story
** Currently in a foster home. Meet & Greet will be arranged with an approved adoption application. **I’m Osiris — a gray and white male kitten who came to Animal Ark with my mom, Sheba, and my siblings, Aya and Bastet. Mom did her best to keep us hidden and safe, tucking us away in a garage where no one could find us. But our rescuers were determined, and soon all of us were brought to the shelter where we could grow, learn, and finally feel secure. Even though Mom was friendly and clearly used to people, my siblings and I weren’t so sure at first. All these humans hovering over us felt a little suspicious. But with steady meals, soft beds, and gentle voices, we quickly realized that indoor life is actually pretty wonderful. We`ve gone into a foster home for some extra socialization. Because we’re still young, we can’t go to a home with children under five, and I’ll need to be adopted with another kitten — maybe one of my siblings — or join a home with a playful resident cat who can help me grow with confidence. Due to our shyness, a quiet home with older children and no dogs would be the best fit for us. If a tiny bundle of kitten energy, curiosity, and charm sounds like the perfect addition to your family, complete an adoption application to be invited for a meet-and-greet. I can’t wait to see who my future family will be.

Story
I’m Riley, a one-year-old solid grey male cat with a soft heart and an even softer purr. My previous owner described me as shy, quiet, and wonderfully easygoing. I melt for slow, gentle scratches and love simple joys — especially catnip mice, and little rolling balls that I can chase at my own pace. I’ve done well around other cats, though I haven’t met dogs or young children yet. Because of my sensitive nature, a calm home with older kids would help me feel most secure. If you’re thinking about adopting a pair, I’d be thrilled to go home with one of my friends — Arlo, River, Roger, Patience, Pandora, or Pearl. I was especially close to Arlo in my temporary home, and we’d make a lovely duo. If your family is ready for a new adventure — one filled with quiet companionship, gentle affection, and the joy of helping a sweet boy blossom — come meet me at Animal Ark. I’m waiting for someone who sees the potential in a tender soul like me.

Story
Hi there! I’m Ramon, a one-year-old brown tabby male cat—one of eight adorable kittens who were discovered in a vacant apartment, all alone and in need of help. Thankfully, a kind young woman rescued us and brought us to Animal Ark, where we’ve been showered with love, tasty meals, and lots of toys. We were a lively bunch—three girls and five boys—named after the characters from the movie Happy Feet. My brother Sven and I are the last of our litter at the shelter, and we recently crossed the threshold from being kittens to being cats! While our past with dogs and young children is a bit of a mystery, we do best with gentle, respectful introductions. Sven and I are both friendly, active, and always ready for playtime! If your heart is ready for nonstop purrs, playful antics, and unconditional love, come visit us at Animal Ark. We can’t wait to meet you!
