Story
MALCOLM and MARNIE are approx. 4.5 years old. They are both cute brown and white tabbies who came into our program as strays and were very, very scared, but they have enjoyed the routine in their foster home and their individual personalities have blossomed. They love being together and Marnie feels braver with Malcolm nearby. Malcolm has short hair and loves playing with his two rope toys in particular, pushing them under a door and then trying to scoop them back inside. When called, he stops whatever he’s doing to enthusiastically run over for affection. Malcolm is so excited to get neck rubs and back scratches that he happily purrs and bonks his head into anything and everything nearby - furniture, his foster’s legs, his food dish, or whatever else happens to be close! He will sit on his foster's lap when she is relaxing and has become so much more trusting in his foster home. Marnie has lovely thick, medium hair and had become more at ease. She is very curious and likes to check out what her people are doing and wants to be in the same room as they are. She loves treats and eats out of her foster’s hand and has learned that being petting is great while she purrs happily. Marnie enjoys playing with any kind of interactive feather toy. She loves sitting on the top of her cat tree by the window and watching the activity in the yard. If you are the special person who has a lot of patience, a calm presence, and can give Malcolm and Marnie a quiet home and consistent routine, they will give you so much in return (they do well when they know what to expect). They would do best in a home without other animals or children and in a home where their people don't plan on moving. Malcolm and Marnie are neutered/spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. Their adoption fee is $320 for the adorable pair. Call 651-771-5662 if you are the special person for these two sweet cats.

Story
Hank and Cooper are adorable orange and white boys who are 19 weeks old and waiting for you to visit them in their foster home! Hank has more white on him and Cooper has more orange. Cooper and Hank are very friendly and energetic. Anything and everything are a toy to them. If you have a box sitting around, they will make a toy out of it. They love chasing the fleece on a wand, balls and anything that moves. Hank likes to follow his foster around the house helping her out with chores until she sits down so he can have a lap nap. Cooper purrrs often and likes to cuddle with people and other kittens. A scratching tree is a must – they love sleeping on the top level and using it like good boys. And, it's great for watching the activity out the window. Cooper and Hank have not been around dogs in our program and would probably prefer a home without dogs. They would be fine with older children (8 years+). These boys are too active to be adopted with an adult cat. Remember, cats can live 18+ years so be sure you can give them a forever home. Hank and Cooper are neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, and have had all three of their kitten distemper vaccinations. Their adoption fee is $200 each or $350 for the pair. Preference will be given to someone who wants to adopt them both. Call 651-771-5662 to set up a time to meet these cute boys.

Story
CALI and BENNIE are approximately four years old. Although they aren't littermates, they have been together since they were kittens, and they balance each other beautifully, with Bennie bringing exuberance and affection while Cali offers a quiet presence, sweet companionship, and a touch of independent charm. They are looking for a forever home together, where they can keep each other company and share their love with someone who appreciates two very different but compatible personalities. Their owner died so Second Chance was asked to take them into our program. Bennie is a brown and gold tiger with striking green eyes and a sweet, trusting nature. Once he bonds with his person, he gives his whole heart. He is a deeply affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and will curl up on a lap, chest, or stretched out right alongside someone while they relax or watch TV. Sometimes he even reaches up with a gentle paw to ask for more attention. Bennie adores scratches, enjoys massages, and purrs endlessly and happily. He is calm, tolerant, and incredibly sweet-natured. Although he is usually quiet, he becomes very vocal when food or treats might be involved, since he is highly motivated by the chance of a snack. His energy and agility show when he leaps enthusiastically to the top of his cat tree and flips over with his tummy in the air, and he is just as happy being carried around or being held by his person. Although he loves being near people and enjoys being around Cali, he has not been accepting of the other cats in his foster home. Cali is a lovely calico with a soft coat, green eyes, and a personality that blends independence with affection. She is quieter than Bennie and communicates with adorable chirps and meeps, but she is very clear when she wants attention. She will confidently bonk her head into a hand to demand pets and will continue until she gets the affection she is seeking. Cali takes a bit longer than Bennie to warm up to new people, but once she does, she becomes a devoted and relaxed lounging companion who prefers to stretch out beside someone rather than on their lap. She often lies on her back with her tummy up. When her human is working, she will come over, put her paws on their knees, and give a soft little chirp until she receives some pets. Cali is independent and particular about how she wants to be handled, and she does not like being held or carried, but she is deeply affectionate in her own way and loves being close to her person on her own terms. Cali is especially captivated by light reflections and loves to chase them across the floor or up the walls, and she also enjoys batting around her poofy pom-pom toys. Cali is quite a bit overweight and is on low calorie food to help slowly take some weight off (and she is getting exercise by playing with her fosters). The adopter must continue monitoring her food intake and keep her on a low cal food. They both love hanging out on their cat tree by the window or snoozing inside their felt cat cave beds. Both like simple cardboard scratchers; Bennie prefers an angled one, while Cali enjoys spending time on a cardboard lounger that she scratches on and uses as her little perch. Since they have grown up together, they must be adopted as a pair. They would prefer a home without dogs or other cats; they have not been around children in our program but should be fine with older, respectful kids (12+ years). Bennie and Cali are neutered/spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. Their adoption fee is $350 for the sweet pair. Call 651-771-5662 to inquire about this affectionate duo.

Story
Benny is a handsome 1 year old boy. He is buff and white and has lovely gold eyes. He is a friendly and active young cat who purrs when you pet him. Benny is very curious and always has to check out what you are doing and be part of it. He is food motivated so be sure you don’t leave human food out on the counters. Benny would like you to be his best friend and include him in what you are doing. He likes just about any toy and uses the cardboard floor scratcher and his carpeted scratching tree. The most exciting part of the day is watching the birds and squirrels outside the patio door. Ben is good with other cats or he could be adopted as an only cat. He has not been around dogs in our program and would probably do best in a home without dogs. He is good with the foster’s older grandchild. Remember, cats can live 18+ years so be sure you can provide them with a forever home. Benny is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200 each. Story
Meet Locke – A Special Boy Looking for a Special Home Locke is a 9–10 month old sweetheart with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This goofy, playful guy has been through more than most in his life, but you’d never know it—he’s full of love, energy, and snuggles. Locke is FeLV positive (Feline Leukemia Virus), which can sound scary at first, but we encourage anyone interested to do their own research. There’s a lot of misinformation out there, and his most recent bloodwork shows that with a safe indoor environment and proper care, he has the potential to live a long, happy life just like any other cat. Here’s what makes Locke amazing: - **Funny and playful** – he’s always ready to chase a toy or goof around - **Super cuddly** – with humans and even dogs! He absolutely loves to snuggle - **Food motivated** – mealtime is his favorite time - **Resilient and loving** – despite everything he’s been through, his heart is wide open Due to his FeLV+ status, Locke hasn’t been around other cats while in rescue, but he’s shown he can be great with dog friends! He was with cats up until he was brought into rescue at 5 months old, and if he wasn’t FeLV+, likely would have been a bonded pair with another cat he came in with who was negative. He’s ready to find his forever person or family who will give him the love and safety he deserves. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion with a huge heart and a silly side, Locke might just be your perfect match. *More information and photos added over time. *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 60 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our adoptable animals can be seen by appointment. Story
Meet Humphrey! This young kitten is ready for his next chapter! He is a little shy, but has started to flourish with other cats and dogs in the house. Humphrey has been great with other dogs and cats. He does take a little bit of time to come around to new folks, but really is growing into himself. He has really enjoyed having other cats or dogs in the home, but likely could be successful as an only-cat if there's enough else for him to interact with! He'd love to join your home! *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 60 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our adoptable animals can be seen by appointment.
