NAME: Gouda AGE/GENDER: <3yr, Female BREED: Chihuahua TEMPERAMENT: Sweet, sassy, cuddly WEIGHT: 9lbs HOUSE TRAINING: Good CRATE TRAINING: Good OTHER DOGS: Good CATS: Good CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $550 HEALTH: Gouda is spay/neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward offsetting the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. HISTORY: Gouda came from an overcrowded shelter in California. We are excited to find her a great forever family here in WA! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Gouda is a sweet, silly pup with spunky energy. She is both playful and snuggly, but is also able to entertain herself- especially in her own square of sun in a fluffy bed. She does get along well with other small dogs (don't know about big ones) and she does enjoy playing. Gouda plays a bit rough but not inappropriately- and she would probably enjoy another dog, though it's not required. She can play fetch too! She is an alert barker when someone comes to the door, but doesn't bark excessively otherwise and sleeps quietly in a crate or playpen. She can be a bit excited when meeting people or dogs on leash, so she needs to be ignored initially and then she will curiously go over and lick the new person's hand and be friends (<10 mins). As well, she would benefit from general obedience training but she understands no and is pretty responsive. She is doing well with housebreaking and hasn't had any accidents, though she may not tell you she has to go. In our home, we take the dogs out consistently because not everyone is as good as she! Gouda has lived with cats and she isn't interested in the cat anymore. If your cat was interested, she would likely play with them as she would a dog- so she can certainly cohabitate with them whether ignoring/ coexisting or actually playing. Gouda is a little intimidated by the camera so it's hard to capture her sweetness and her really pretty eyes. She has gorgeous brown eyeliner and it makes her even more soulful! In all, Gouda is a young, sweet and would make someone very happy! She really is a lovable girl and if we were not career fosters in no need of another dog at this time, we would keep her ;) She's a real gem. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup! ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes (or partnering pet stores) where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing and same day adoption. Due to the volunteer run structure and decentralized/ virtual nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals. If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application (the auto-responder also has a link to our application). We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend! Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment Dog Daycare" in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information! Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew September 28, 2023, 1:06 am
