FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sully! He is a 10-year-old Chihuahua (maybe some corgi) mix who weighs 15 lbs. He was in a previous rescue in CA but was sent to us as they thought his chances were better here in WA. He can be snuggly but also high-strung. He’s friendly and seeks out attention but he can give warning if he doesn’t know you and he feels you’re being more friendly than he wants you to be .The last rescue described him as a grumbly old man. He just needs need some room to make up his mind about trusting you. What’s great about Sully is he’s fun, goofy and energetic and loves to go for walks. He is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. His fee is $200.

Story
Marzipan is a 5-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing about 12lb. Marzi is sweet as sugar and a wonderful companion for her new human! She is very polite and will ask before she jumps onto furniture or moves into unfamiliar territory. She is great on a leash. She can be demanding attention and will need lots of reassurance and love from her new owner. She is very affectionate and loves snuggling with her human. She knows how to sit and shake hands. She is a terrific guard dog. She can be unsure of other dogs and will warn them away. She doesn’t always like to play and will decline familiar dog invites with a firm “no.” Marzi is a lady with a strong will that stands up for herself. Marzi is in foster care and is bonded with Benny. We are looking to adopt them out together. She is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.

Story
Benny is a 7-year-old, 12lb Chihuahua/Terrier mix looking for his forever home. He is extremely strong-willed and loaded with personality. He wants to be in control and needs a strong alpha owner. Once he bonds to his person, he is a lover! Benny is a velcro dog. He keeps tabs on his human and likes to be near them and protective. He is very aware of his surroundings. He is territorial, but with consistent socialization, he has overcome much of his aggression. His forever home will need to continue socializing him, his behavior will continue to improve. He is a funny little guy that thinks he is a cat - he likes to stand on your shoulders or crawl on top of things to explore. Benny has a very strong prey drive and will chase cats, rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. He is not an excessive barker and is quick to recognize recurring noises and adjust his behavior. He is extremely smart and learns fast. He is also a talker and he will talk until you figure out what he wants (humans are so slow). When he is not snuggling, he is very independent and does his own thing. He does not like to be disturbed when he is busy or sleeping. He knows how to sit and shake hands. He will guard resources at first, but not once he feels safe. He does not exhibit separation anxiety and is not destructive. He can react when his harness is put on or removed and seems sensitive about his tummy. He also reacts to entrances and exits as he does not like change. His forever home will need to give him lots of patience and support so he feels secure and can relax. Benny is good with calm female small dogs and some large dogs, he has very strong preferences in everything. His behavior will alter depending on his doggy friend. NOTE: Benny is fearful and untrusting with men. It's our recommendation that he be in a female household with no kids or cats. Households should have rescue or fearful dog experience. He will be aggressive when meeting for the first time. Benny is in foster care and is bonded with Marzi. We are looking to adopt them out together. Benny is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.

Story
Meet Bandit. He is a 1.5-year-old, 10 lb Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA and is looking for his forever home. He is currently living in a foster home in Edmonds, WA. Bandit is a sweet, shy boy who lacks confidence and will need to go to a home with another dog in it as they give him confidence. While he gets along with all dogs, he would do best with a calm dog as high energy, exuberant dogs may be too much for him. He tends to follow the other dogs lead. He can be quite the cuddler loves to be held once he warms up. He also loves to lounge in his dog bed which has a heated surface. He is looking for a quiet home with a patient adopter. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $450. ___________________

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Snickerdoodle! He is a 1-year-old, 8 lb chihuahua mix who came to us from CA in search of a better life. He is a sweet little fella, who loves to held. He is extremely shy initially but once he warms up, he loves deeply and just wants to be in his persons arms. He does not walk well on a leash and would much rather be held and carried. We are looking for a calm, adult only home for him outside of the city as he is under socialized and timid and everything new frightens him. He does well with other dogs but would prefer to be the only dog in the home soaking up all of the love and attention for himself as he loves to be with his people. Snickerdoodle is UTD on vaccination, microchipped and will be neutered prior to his adoption. His adoption fee is $500.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Ernest - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. But if you want an independent lil guy that is just happy being in the same room, I might just be that lil man!! I would love to be your lil side kick....so what do ya say? Can I come home with you?!!

Story
Animal Profile:  Hap is an approximately ~14lb,  3-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix that joined us from CA on 12/17.  He was found as a stray and was very scared but he warmed up quickly. He's been kenneled with other dogs. Foster Update: Hap is settling in well and is such a sweetheart. He really just wants to be your best friend. True to his breed mix, Hap bonds hard with his people and wants to be by your side. he is being fostered with another dog in his foster home, and they got along great. Hap has a fairly mellow temperament inside the home. He really enjoys snuggling up, lounging in a cozy dog bed, and hanging out by your side. He is getting much better with his crate manners when home alone, and he will enjoy a kong during his down time in his crate. As a pup who builds a strong bond with his people, Hap really relies on clear leadership and confidence from his humans. He can be a bit insecure/nervous by nature, and having his humans take lead really helps him feel more relaxed and confident outside of the home. Hap's foster mom has been working hard at teaching Hap a proper heel on leash, place command, in addition to basic obedience. He is absolutely thriving! Hap has even found himself to be an excellent jogging/running partner. Hap would love for a forever home that can continue to provide the leadership for him to thrive. He will need to be in an adult-only home, and he would do best with someone who has some past dog experience, or is confident to be able to keep up his training and advocate for Hap's needs. He is such a loving companion that is eager to learn and be your best friend. He is going to make someone extremely happy! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from the Fresno Humane.  They arrive on 12/17 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.March 27, 2024, 12:20 pm

Story
Animal Profile:  Timmy is an estimated 2-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix with something larger that joined us from Fresno Animal Care Center on 12/17.  Timmy is approximately 20 lbs and we suspect full grown. At the shelter, he was kenneled with other dogs and shy but sweet with people.  Foster Update: Timmy is the sweetest, most playful dog! He has lots of energy and loves to play with toys. It takes him a while to hit his off switch but once he does, he will come and cuddle up with you. He is friendly with everyone he meets and very curious.   Timmy gets along great with my resident dog and loves to initiate play! He is a bit intimidated by larger dogs, so he will do best with dogs closer to his own size. He will benefit from another playful dog in his forever home.  Timmy is crate-trained and doing really well learning basic commands. He is doing great with potty training as long as we keep a regular schedule of potty breaks. We are working on proper leash manners as he tends to bark at strangers and can get overwhelmed in busy areas, so a quiet neighborhood will be best. Timmy's ideal home will be with an active family who can provide structure and be patient with him as he learns house and leash manners. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Story
Animal Profile: Noodle is an adorable 5-6 month old chihuahua mix who was rescued from southern CA. He was living in a home with several other dogs, and the family no longer had the means to care for their dogs. Noodle has now arrived in Seattle and he is doing amazing in his foster home. Foster Update: Meet Noodle! The sweetest little buddy who often sports the cutest tongue-out face! Noodle is a love bug who isn't shy to let you know that he hasn't received enough pets. Indoors, he's a busy little guy who likes to explore and sees the world as his jungle gym.  Outdoors, he's not a fan of walking for the sake of walking (how boring!) and prefers to take his time sniffing around.  In the house and yard he follows me around like a little shadow whenever I'm on the move and comes with a pitter patter when called.  It's hard taking a candid picture of him because when I crouch down to get the shot he comes running in! House training is going very well and he hasn't had an accident since his first days with us despite not being a big fan of the cold and wet weather.  He is as quiet as can be when he's crated during the work day and through the night.  Still a curious puppy, he is learning what is and isn't a toy around the house and is doing great with verbal redirections.  He's a super sweet and special boy and any family would be lucky to have him!!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heart worm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Story
Animal Profile: The Toy Story Litter are adorable corgi/collie/chihuahua mixes that are 4 months old. Their owners reached out to Dog Gone Seattle for help placing these puppies and several other dogs. We agreed to find them all wonderful homes, and are also spaying the females that are remaining in the home to avoid future accidental litters. Mom and Dad are both friendly, social low riders that were very sweet when we met them. Bo Peep is on the shy side until she gets to know you, then she's a happy bouncy little girl. We will be looking for a home with another resident dog that can show her the world is a wonderful place.  Foster notes: Bo Peep is a little uncertain about the world around her but curious enough to overcome her caution with some patience and time. She comes out of her shell a bit more every day. Once she feels comfortable, she happily plays with toys, uses the residence dog as her playmate/climbing gym and is a champion at zoomies. She likes to hide under the couch if there is a loud noise or sudden movement. She is generally easy to lure out with treats! She is still unsure when people come to the house but as long as they ignore her initially, she will check out the situation from afar, and then check them out. Once she feels comfortable she goes about her business.  She is social and playful in her space with her people. She will need patience to let her become comfortable and realize things are not scary and another dog in the house to show her the way. Will consider older respectful children. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, health certificate, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Story
Animal Profile:  Gully is an estimated 3-year-old 12 lb black and white female chihuahua joining us from Fresno Animal Care Center. She was found as a stray and held by the finder for a few days looking for an owner but no one came. She was assessed to be shy but friendly with people and dogs.  Foster Update: Meet Gully! This special girl is excited to find her forever home. Full of spunk and energy, this girl won't leave you bored. She will gladly engage in a game of tug and chase, and she will go for hours if you let her =) With her zest for life, comes an eagerness to learn. Gully loves nothing more than clear direction from her human, as she is eager to learn her expectations and excel at her tasks (then get rewarded for it). She has been learning leash manners when out and about, and has learned the place command when at home. Gully is looking for a forever home that can continue to expand her basic obedience and help her build confidence in the outside world through leadership. Having a confident handler on leash has helped transform Gully from being fearful and reacting to passing dogs, to being able to pass them calmly and with confidence. Her forever human will need to feel comfortable to continue to advocate for her and keep up on her leash manners. Gully does amazing in her crate and sleeps through the night soundly, as well as for spurts of time throughout the day. High-value chews are one of her favorite rewards, and she has become quite fond of antler ears or yak chews. She is making progress with her potty training; she will take care of business anytime she is out on a walk, but we are still working on learning her signals on when she needs to go out. A consistent routine will help immensely for keeping up the progress with her potty training. Gully has been fostered with another small dog, and she engages in play often. Her play style can be a bit more dominant. Gully would enjoy a canine companion that compliments her energy and play style, but she wouldn't mind being the only dog either.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate.
