Story
NAME: Gouda   AGE/GENDER: <3yr, Female   BREED: Chihuahua   TEMPERAMENT: Sweet, sassy, cuddly   WEIGHT: 9lbs   HOUSE TRAINING: Good   CRATE TRAINING: Good   OTHER DOGS: Good   CATS: Good   CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older   ADOPTION DONATION: $550    HEALTH: Gouda is spay/neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines.   Your adoption donation goes toward offsetting the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care.    HISTORY: Gouda came from an overcrowded shelter in California. We are excited to find her a great forever family here in WA!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Gouda is a sweet, silly pup with spunky energy.    She is both playful and snuggly, but is also able to entertain herself- especially in her own square of sun in a fluffy bed. She does get along well with other small dogs (don't know about big ones) and she does enjoy playing. Gouda plays a bit rough but not inappropriately- and she would probably enjoy another dog, though it's not required. She can play fetch too!   She is an alert barker when someone comes to the door, but doesn't bark excessively otherwise and sleeps quietly in a crate or playpen. She can be a bit excited when meeting people or dogs on leash, so she needs to be ignored initially and then she will curiously go over and lick the new person's hand and be friends (<10 mins). As well, she would benefit from general obedience training but she understands no and is pretty responsive.    She is doing well with housebreaking and hasn't had any accidents, though she may not tell you she has to go. In our home, we take the dogs out consistently because not everyone is as good as she!   Gouda has lived with cats and she isn't interested in the cat anymore. If your cat was interested, she would likely play with them as she would a dog- so she can certainly cohabitate with them whether ignoring/ coexisting or actually playing.   Gouda is a little intimidated by the camera so it's hard to capture her sweetness and her really pretty eyes. She has gorgeous brown eyeliner and it makes her even more soulful!   In all, Gouda is a young, sweet and would make someone very happy! She really is a lovable girl and if we were not career fosters in no need of another dog at this time, we would keep her ;) She's a real gem.       All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup!   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes (or partnering pet stores) where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing and same day adoption. Due to the volunteer run structure and decentralized/ virtual  nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals. If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application (the auto-responder also has a link to our application). We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend! Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment Dog Daycare" in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information! Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew September 28, 2023, 1:06 am

Story
NAME: VICTORIOUS (named after a song by Wolfmother) LITTER: She is part of the "Rob Zombie" litter and her mother is "Foxy Fox." AGE/GENDER: Baby (born 7/22/2023, Female BREED: Chihuahua mix? (MANY PUPPIES IN RESCUE DO NOT HAVE PARENTS SO THEIR BREED IS UNKNOWN) TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous ESTIMATED ADULT WEIGHT: 15-20 lbs    HOUSE TRAINING: Not yet! She is a baby so she'll need a consistent schedule with multiple opportunities daily to go outside while she works on it. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers! CRATE TRAINING: Good, she's young and trainable! OTHER DOGS: Good! She will need continued socialization, like all puppies! CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important! CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00 HEALTH:  Victorious is healthy! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: Victorious and her siblings were abandoned with their mother in a box in front of a building. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME:  Victorious is a puppy so she's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! She is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. Her forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that she grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. She will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo CrewSeptember 28, 2023, 1:06 am

Story
Meet Espresso! She loves to be carried around and snuggled on and favorite activities are sleeping and snuggling. She would be great as an only dog or with a similarly inclined friend for companionship. Essie loves being in her crate, and is quiet. She is reliably potty trained, but will use pads in the enclosure. When rescued, she had a bad case of mange so lost some of her hair. She is healthy now but may need to wear a sweater to keep warm. She is good with cats and other dogs. Essie is about 9.5 years old and weighs 8 pounds. She would love a forever home to live her best life and get all the snuggles she deserves!!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 30, 2023, 10:39 am
