Story
Meet Fallon- a scruffy little muppet in dog form who looks like she just wandered off an indie album cover and into your heart. Named after Fallon Bowman of Kittie, this shaggy white sweetheart has a presence that’s equal parts quirky charm and soulful sensitivity. Fallow sort of drifts in- like a soft melody you didn’t realize you needed. With her tousled fur, expressive eyes, and slightly “I just woke up like this” aesthetic, Fallon leans hard into that lovable, scrappy underdog vibe. She’s not trying to impress anyone- which somehow, that makes her completely irresistible. Personality-wise, Fallon is gentle, thoughtful, and just a touch unsure of herself in new situations. Quickly though, she will stick to you like Velcro, quietly devoted and always nearby...your little shadow with bedhead! Fallon would do best in a home that appreciates training, socialization and confidence building, kind humans, and maybe a confident dog buddy to show her the ropes. This is not a requirement though. If your type is a little scruffy, a little soulful, and a whole lot of heart, Fallon is your girl!

Story
Chloe and Emma are a bonded pair ready to set off on their new adventure - together! These two senior ladies are still full of spunk. They enjoy going for walks, playing with toys, playing together, and being around their people. Chloe and Emma can be nervous around other dogs and need time to warm up. They've never been around cats. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Chloe and Emma are looking for a quiet home with just teens and adults. They don't enjoy being left alone and would be happiest in a home where their humans are around often. Chloe and Emma are ready to go home with you today!

Story
The perfect summer snack - Snocone! This adorable Chihuahua mix is a refreshing, sweet treat, ready to brighten up your days. Snocone is friendly, curious, playful, and a very happy little guy. We don't have much history on him, but he's quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite! We don't know how Snocone is with other dogs or cats, so any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. He has been curious about seeing other dogs in the shelter. Snocone will likely do well with older kids who can handle him gently. If you're ready to welcome home this summer treat, make an adoption appointment to meet Snocone today!

Story
Shy little one! Meet Maria! Sweet Maria is looking for a special forever home and that just might be you! She’s an adorable 7-pound Chihuahua with a cheerful and upbeat personality. She’s sure to make you laugh and smile! While Maria is a sweetheart, it's important to note that she has a fear of being touched. Despite her gentle nature, Maria struggles with being handled and avoids physical contact. It's something that her foster family has been working on. That said, Maria has recently gone blind out of the blue, so that changes her world quite a bit. One interesting outcome is that she's a little less shy, but we will see how that play out. One of Maria's favorite pastimes is playing with other small dogs, exploring in the yard and sunbathing. When she's not busy playing, Maria chills and hangs out near her people. (She will need a home with a small-dog-proof fence). She would do well in a home with one or more friendly, playful small dogs and one that’s pretty low-key without a lot of people coming in and out. If you already have snuggly pets, Maria’s presence won’t change that. No fighting for your lap! Be a true hero and give this sweet, playful girl her forever home. If you're looking for a small companion with a big heart, consider welcoming Maria into your home! Story
Animal Information: Meet Ruthie, a 4-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua with a resilient spirit. Ruthie ended up at the Stanislaus shelter after being attacked by a much larger dog, leaving her with puncture wounds and a very sore body. Thankfully, she received the care she needed, recovered well, and was ready for her second chance. Despite everything she's been through, Ruthie has remained incredibly sweet. Shelter staff described her as gentle, easy to handle, and an absolute sweetheart, making it clear she deserved a fresh start. Foster Profile: Meet Ruthie!    If you're looking for a tiny best friend who believes the best days are spent snuggled up beside you, Ruthie is your girl! This sweet 8-pound Chihuahua is easygoing, affectionate, and happiest when she's relaxing with her favorite person.   Ruthie has a bit of a princess personality—she knows she's special and isn't afraid to show it! She would be perfectly happy as your one and only pet, but she could also live with a calm, small dog who respects her laid-back lifestyle. She also gets along well with cats.   Whether it's curling up on the couch, soaking up the sunshine, or following you around the house, Ruthie is simply looking for a peaceful home filled with love. If you're ready for a loyal little companion who will happily be your cuddle buddy, Ruthie is waiting to meet you! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
