Story
Talk about spunk! This bouncy, enthusiastic, and hilarious 1-year-old Chihuahua mix is Alex and he is excited to meet you. In fact, he's excited about everything! Alex is hoping to find a family that can keep up with him and is able to give him loads of daily playtime, exercise, and attention. We don't know how Alex is with other dogs or cats, so any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Alex can be sensitive to new people and will likely do best with just dog-experienced teens and adults. Alex is not a fit for an apartment or condo environment and is hoping his new home is in a quieter area of town. If you're ready to welcome home this peppy pup, make an adoption appointment to meet him today! #playful #activelifestyle

Story
Animal Profile:  Hap is an approximately ~14lb,  3-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix that joined us from CA on 12/17.  He was found as a stray and was very scared but he warmed up quickly. He's been kenneled with other dogs. Foster Update:  Hap  is ready to be your new best friend wrapped in a small package! Whether it’s a weekend camping, going for a run, or a movie marathon at home,  Hap  is eager to do it with you. He’s very easy mannered in the home and does great in his crate, self entertaining, or giving you a good laugh with his huge personality. While  Hap  is the sweetest guy to his people, he does have stranger danger and takes a minute to warm up to new humans. He hasn’t met an animal (cats included) he doesn’t like, but tends to be excitable on a leash when seeing other dogs, otherwise his leash manners have come a long way and continue to improve.  Hap  is going to do best with clear direction and someone willing to take the lead. He’s extremely treat motivated and would love to keep learning and show off all his tricks. If you’ve have a little patience and a lot of love to give -  Hap  might just be your perfect fit. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from the Fresno Humane.  They arrive on 12/17 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 26, 2024, 1:04 pm

Story
Animal Profile:  Gully is an estimated 3-year-old 12 lb black and white female chihuahua joining us from Fresno Animal Care Center. She was found as a stray and held by the finder for a few days looking for an owner but no one came. She was assessed to be shy but friendly with people and dogs.  Foster Update: Meet Gully! This special girl is excited to find her forever home. Full of spunk and energy, this girl won't leave you bored. She will gladly engage in a game of tug and chase, and she will go for hours if you let her =) With her zest for life, comes an eagerness to learn. Gully loves nothing more than clear direction from her human, as she is eager to learn her expectations and excel at her tasks (then get rewarded for it). She has been learning leash manners when out and about, and has learned the place command when at home. Gully is looking for a forever home that can continue to expand her basic obedience and help her build confidence in the outside world through leadership. Having a confident handler on leash has helped transform Gully from being fearful and reacting to passing dogs, to being able to pass them calmly and with confidence. Her forever human will need to feel comfortable to continue to advocate for her and keep up on her leash manners. Gully does amazing in her crate and sleeps through the night soundly, as well as for spurts of time throughout the day. High-value chews are one of her favorite rewards, and she has become quite fond of antler ears or yak chews. She is making progress with her potty training; she will take care of business anytime she is out on a walk, but we are still working on learning her signals on when she needs to go out. A consistent routine will help immensely for keeping up the progress with her potty training. Gully has been fostered with another small dog, and she engages in play often. Her play style can be a bit more dominant. Gully would enjoy a canine companion that compliments her energy and play style, but she wouldn't mind being the only dog either.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal Profile: Frittata is a small chihuahua mix who was rescued from a high kill shelter in CA, then transferred into our care. She is around a year old and around 10-12lbs.  Foster Update: Meet Frittata, "Tilly" for short! Tilly is a young, energetic chihuahua mix that just wants love and attention. She will greet you with excitement as you walk in the door and will wait to settle down once she is snuggled up with you on the couch or a bed nearby where she can be with you. Her foster family is working with her on her potty training, and she does well in her crate. Tilly is very food motivated and does well around other dogs in her foster home. She absolutely loves to play and would love a family to keep up with her energy. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heart worm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Story
Animal Profile: Dexter is an approximately 3 year old, 7 lb male Chihuahua mix that joined us from Bakersfield, California.  Foster Update: Meet Dexter! This pocket-sized Chihuahua is packed with some big personality! This sweet boy enjoys many things in life, but walks, fetch, and curling up with his canine siblings make the top of the list. He loves exploring his neighborhood and meeting new dogs and humans on his walks. Dexter will also take any opportunity he gets to stop and smell the flowers. He is potty trained, and does well in his crate. He is being fostered with other dogs and he enjoys their companionship for play. Dexter does have some  big opinions when it comes to getting some alone time/space at the end of the day. It's important for him to have his safe space where he can decompress, where humans and other pets will respect his boundaries. With that in mind, we are looking for a home for Dexter that can provide an enriching lifestyle but also provide some boundaries and structure. Dexter is not afraid to express his dislike when being told what to do, so it's important that he has a confident and savvy handler to advocate for him so he can be successful. (We have taken him to a few breweries with our other dogs and he has done quite well.) Dexter will also need to be placed in an adult-only home.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia in Bakersfield California.July 26, 2024, 1:04 pm
